You mean they can't?
I thought they, like, understood the attacks and stuff.
Think of it this way:

In real life, you can train dogs to perfrom actions such as 'sit' or 'rollover'.
Obviously, dogs can't understand human language but they can
familiarize a command according to the sound.

I'm guessing it's the same deal with Pokemon. However, there are faults to this theory.
It takes time to train a dog to perform actions; in Pokemon, however, they perform
the 'move' right off the bat with the first command of it's trainer. Another fault is that
Ash and Pikachu, along with many other trainers, can 'communicate' with each other
even though they obviously don't speak the same language.

I used to not like Mudkips.

Rock isn't immune to electric attacks?
It's not D: It's ground that's immune to electric.

I used to think that too. That's why when a Flaaffy or something was able to use Thundershock on my Sudowoodo back in Gold, I was all "Err... o_o;; " because I only sent out Sudowoodo to counter the Flaaffy in the first place D:

I also thought Splash would do something in water...

o_x That's a new one on me.

I used to think Spalsh was worthless until I played PMD2 and Azurill jumped on me and did damage.

I thought Eevee evolved into Espeon or Umbreon with the Sun Stone or Moon Stone, respectively...

I used to think Pidgey and Spearow are the same.
