Back in the day our good friend Fox♠ hosted a couple of threads in which members could show the love to other members in the form of a piece of pixel art.

So once again you can make gifts for others and post them in this thread ☻ Brilliant idea, yes?

Rules:
  1. No asking for "love" i.e. no requests.
  2. Do not needlessly criticise the gifts of others. Constructive criticism is still a requirement in all posts.

So lets start loving!

Just a little token of appreciation to KageX... though it does not compare to the gift he made me...

Thanks KageX!

BTW, it's entirely scratched...

To show my appreciation for GP and his excellent art and the fact that my initials are GP I made this little avatar. It took 10-15 minutes. I think it looks ok but IDK. I was also inspired by a piece of work by Hokusai titled "The Great Wave" any artist may know who Im talking about or Japanese people. Hes a famous artist. I had to choose an artist to recreate their work on for class recently and chose him anyway thats where the darker color scheme came from and a bit of my inspiration. I hope you like it GP

(Its water due to the fact that GP loves gyarados so much and hes a water type POKe.)
Also I did your the GP outta your name to match the one you did for Kagex =D

OOOOOOOOOHHH!!!!!

PRESETN! (edit: i got so caught up in the moment, i spelled "present" wrong...lol)

Awe shucks, i'm honored that you made me a sprited picture!

I think it's awesome... and i'm not just saying that to be nice or nothing like that! I love the background's fade job, it's very subtle, yet it's noticable... even more, the darkness of the bottom of the wave makes it appear as if the wave is derived from the middle, in an explosion like matter... it is so pretty to see the wave like that, as if it is forcing it's way out.

The flame-tongue like crests of the wave are definitely different... to me they look almost like hands reaching out to get me... >shiver< ^_^

The shading seems more or less consistant, there is a pixel or two that i personally would have changed... but i'm not complaining! The pillow shading, at least i think that's what it's called, looks nice here. Again, the rise of the light is a neat effect that this piece gives, and the fact that it's against a blackish background makes it look all the cooler.

And the GP? You more or less got it... ^_^ ... the "P" doesn't attach from the stem to the top, it follows the "G". As for the shading, it's a layered and edgy, nevertheless, it looks great like that!

All in all, this is a very thought provoking piece! I love it!

Thankyou for making it, and of course...

Keep Spriting!

BTW, i looked at Hokusai's "The Great Wave" and got the same impression, the wave had finger like crests that were coming to grab me...
Your wave is definitely a bit more darker though... no pun intended... it has a more menacing figure to it...
