Do you apply it to your eating habits?

The Five Second rule is known as a theory/rule where if food has been dropped and is picked up within 5 seconds, it is fine to eat.

Is it something that you actually utilize if you drop food?

If I drop it in my house, I'll eat it. If I drop it elsewhere, nope.

Same, but depends on where it is.
If it is in my room, I will pick it up again.
Because I am in University accommodation, anywhere else that people have been, I won't pick up XDDDD

I have heard that saying before and I must agree. If I drop it in my house, I will eat it but if it is anywhere else I will not. The only part I will not eat food off the ground in my house is if I am eating in the concrete rooms. xD

I like to smear my food on a sidewalk.

No, if it drops regardless of where it is, I will ditch it. =P

Depends on where I am. Usually in my house, I don't care at all how long it's been there, as long as I'm the one who dropped it and the dog didn't get it. I treasure my food, and I don't want it to go to waste. (oddly not because of taste however. Mainly because of the feeling of nourishment you get from it... it feels so good ^-^)

It doesn't really matter that much, because our mouths are antiseptic anyhow, and the ancient people wouldn't have gotten far without eating things off the ground from time to time as well.

I drop food in the toilet, pick it up, rub it on my coat, and happily munch away.

But seriously, I'll often eat it indoors. If it falls on the ground, I might eat it. It would depend if it was broccolli or a brownie.

Ick, I never use it. No 3 second, 2 second, or even 1 second rule for me. I'm a germaphobe ( I use it lightly) so whenever something leaves my hands I won't touch or eat it unless the reason it' leaving my hands is because it's going to a plate or some other storage device.

It depends what I'm eating really XD
If it's like, a chip or some snack like that then yeah.
But if I'm walking down the hall with a huge bowl of spaghetti in my hands, and trip over the dog's chew toy and the spaghetti goes flying all over the house, then no, I'm not into peeling my dinner off the walls XD

I thought it was the 5 minute rule ._.'''...

Ermm... No. I used to go by it before but then I realized it's not an universal rule since mud and grass are not very nice with food...

If I'm in my apartment, yeah, unless the floor's particularly dirty for some reason. I'm clumsy and drop food a lot (mostly things like chips/crackers), and I hate wasting food. It does depend on the kind of food, though. My apartment flooring is almost all carpet, and I'm kinda lazy about vacuuming, so things like pizza or other prepared food is less likely to be eaten after dropped than the aforementioned chips/crackers.

Anywhere else, well it'd just depend. Most places, probably not.

@Kiarra my top seems to attract more food than my floor, too XD

It depends on what I'm eating and where I am. If I'm outside or in school, I will never eat something off the ground because God knows what walked over that spot. If it's in my house and I drop a chip or something, I'd eat it even if 20 seconds passed. However, if I eat something sticky that would latch on to dirt (glazed donut, lollipop, gum, etc.) then I'd throw it away immediately.
