Do you apply it to your eating habits?

Only if it's in my own house, and only when I know the floor hasn't had anything nasty on it/has been cleaned in the past week. If it's in a restaurant, I won't, or at someone else's house. I just think that if there's bacteria on the food that your body hasn't built up an immunization to, it's nasty.

But that's just OCD me XD

If it hits the floor, it goes in the trash can. No exceptions.

...well, if my family's around and they want whatever's fallen on the floor, they can have it. But no, I refuse to eat it. I freak out if people try to get me to eat it. DD:

Depends, but I usually pick it up quickly and wipe it off before eating it. I usually eat at home so I don't have to worry about location, but elsewhere is a big no, regardless of how clean/messy the floor is.

I find that rather disgusting. although, like swift. , i will eat it if it fell into my lap or on the table, however the floor? not a hope. our house's floor is carpet and slate. not exactly a good mix, if you know what i mean. :\ Food and rock? no. food and that stuff carpet is made of? eww...

I don't go by some second rule. If it's in my house, maybe, most likely. Somewhere dirty/public, no.

i wanna be the wind that fills your sails,
& be the hand that lifts your veil.
& be the moon that moves your tide,
the sun coming up in your eyes.
be the wheels that never rust,
& be the spark that lights you up.
all that you've been dreaming of and more,
so much more, i wanna be your everything.. <3

Depends on what's dropped, where it's dropped and what kind of food it is.

Generally if it's dry food, that isnt likely to pick up dirt easily, I'll swipe it right off the floor if I can do so. (Usually this means I'll let dropped food lie if I'm in public)
If it's sticky, moist or something that isn't dry and unlikely to pick up dirt then I'll leave it alone once it hits the floor.

Generally, I think the 5 second rule only applies to non-sticky items, and foods that are not likely to retain dirt on contact with it.

I generally wipe food if it's in my house... anywhere else I pretend that it wasn't I who dropped it. :D Since leaving food around in public places is technically littering.

What rule? I'd easily eat from anywhere except the toilets.

Whenever food falls in my house, at least one dog runs over to eat it. So there's no five second rule in my house. It's pointless.

Out of the house, if food falls on the floor, I don't eat it. People are nasty, and their shoes track through who-knows-what. So I don't want to be eating food that pretty much fell on someone's shoe.

If it's outside, NO WAY. If it's in the house, OK! Lol. I'd rather prefer to eat something off the floor in my home, because it's like my habitat and i know what state the floor is in. But never outside. It's all dirty outside on the pavement!

If i dropped a grape into a piece of poo (a bit of a less mature suggestion, but still worth using!), and picked it up before 5 seconds, should i eat it? Precisely. I shouldn't. So i wouldn't want to eat anything that has been on the floor outside. Who knows where that pavement has been? XD.
