I would like to join, seeing as how it used to be one of my favorite series. ^_^

Who is your favorite MegaMan character?
Megaman X - there's really nothing I can say, aside from having the armor suits or whatever and the more powerful X-buster (Something like that)
Haven't played in awhile, but maybe I will...
Sure, of course you can.

I uploaded the aforementioned banners.

Who is your favorite MegaMan character?

My favorite character would have to be Bass.exe from the Battle Network Series. I wasn't so happy when Zero replaced Bass as Megaman's rival in the X series (even though Zero turned out to be pretty awesome). In the Battle Network series I feel he has a better back story than in the Classics and he's actually a challenge to Megaman this time around.
Actually, Zero didn't replace Bass. Zero debuted before Bass because MegaMan X, Zero's debut game, was released before MegaMan 7, Bass' debut game. If anything, Zero would more like have replaced ProtoMan.

Ah yes, that's a good point. I need to brush up on my Megaman History. xD
Its alright, not many people think about it like it. Its a simple mistake considering that the Classic Series came before the X Series. I likely only remembered it because I'm a supernerd and I do research on things I like in my spare time. I love Bass, both versions, although I like EXE more, as well as Zero, although I prefer MMZ's design. I didn't care for Zero.vrs/exe much though.

Protoman is more of a rival to Megaman in Battle Network compared to Bass. Zero is more of a comrade to X then a Rival. I would say Sigma is X rival. Reason I see Protoman and Hub as rivals is cause Lan and Chaud are obvious rivals throughout the Battle Network series. Also yes Zero appeared in 1993 and Bass in 1995 only a two years difference.

No, Sigma isn't a rival, he's an enemy. He and X attempt to destroy each other. A rival is someone you compete with in a friendly, or not so friendly way. The reason that Bass is a rival and not an enemy in the Classic series is because he will still team up with MegaMan if he needs to and he only wants to defeat MegaMan, not kill him. Zero is X's rival in the X Series because they are both Maverick Hunters of different squads and they compete to defeat Mavericks, although that was down played after X3. He wasn't talking about Bass.exe being MegaMan.exe's rival though, he was talking about Classic Bass & Classic MegaMan. ProtoMan.exe is defintly MegaMan.exe's rival in Battle Network.

Here is the way the games are connected, stated in various Official Sources, especially the Rockman Perfect Memories book, made before ZX but after Zero.
-MegaMan Classic
--- MegaMan X
----- MegaMan Zero
------- MegaMan ZX
--------- MegaMan Legends
MegaMan Classic leads into MegaMan X by the creation of MegaMan X by Dr. Light and Zero by Dr.Wily. It takes place about 100 years after Classic. MegaMan X leads into MegaMan Zero by the title character and references to the X Era. It takes place 100 years after Zero seals himself away after the Elf Wars, which takes place at an as of yet unseen time in the X Era. MegaMan Zero leads into MegaMan ZX by the mention of Ciel as the Commander and Zero as the Hero as well as being shown in certain scenes that mention the past as well as the Commander's Letter as well as the references in the BioMetals (X,Z,L,H,P,F, & W). It takes place about 200 years after the Zero series. MegaMan ZX leads into MegaMan Legends very vaguely, however, references can be found in Zero & ZX. Certain enemies sport the same red eye as the ReaverBots found in Legends, mostly the Pantheon and various bosses in both series. No Humans appear in Legends, all humanoid characters, except the Master, are actually Carbons, Reploids that have become so advanced that they are practically humans. The Human Race died out between ZX & Legends. Because of both mechanical enhancements being added to Humans and lifespans being added to Reploids in ZX, Reploids in ZX have Triangle markings on their foreheads, and seeing as a majority of major and minor characters sport these marks it is safe to assume that humans are beginning to dwindle in numbers. It takes place about 1,000 years after the as of yet unseen end of the ZX Series.

MegaMan Battle Network and MegaMan StarForce, however, take place in an alternate reality, but those two games are related.
- MegaMan Battle Network
--- MegaMan StarForce
Battle Network leads into StarForce by the mention of NetNavis.

Never expected that all leads to Megaman Legends series.
Yep, I never thought so either, but according to the Rockman Perfect Memories book, which contains info on Classic, X, Legends, Battle Network, & Zero, all series except BN (& StarForce by connection) are in the same universe. At least the Zero & ZX series show a little on how it gets to there. The Cl/X/Z/ZX/L series is called the Robot Series and the BN/SF series is called the Cyber Series by fans. I think its funny that a reference to the original MegaMan is shown in Legends, at least the US 64 version, where its said that MegaMan is named after Roll's favorite video game character if you read a diary on the Flutter.

Sounds interesting, maybe I should try the other series.
Which ones have you played? My favorites are the Zero series & the ZX series, shame Zero was so short and ZX doesn't seem to have a third game on the horizon.

Some of the Classics, the entire X's sagas, and Megaman Legends for the N64
Ah, you should play the Zero Series, ZX Series, MegaMan 9. I'm not sure if you'd like Battle Network, as its an entirely different playstyle, but I think its fun.

I love Megaman. May I ask to join?
Of course, all are welcome!

Also, I don't know when I will get to it, but I think I may make MegaMan Battle Network Banners next, since the X Series will be harder to do. I don't know when I will get to it though.

Awesome, a Megaman Club! May I join?
Of course.

Thanks, bro

Who is your favorite MegaMan character?
As for this question, I would have to say Tron Bonne followed by Airman.

I really liked the Legends series. It's a shame that chances are they'll might never be a 3rd one.
No problem, although I'll say I'm a girl and therefore not a bro. ^.^

Don't count out Legends so quickly, it is the MegaMan series most wanted to have more games, other than Classic before 9 was released. Rockman Dash, MegaMan Legends' JP name, is very popular, with their characters appearing in quite a few things. Here are the total amount of times that a MegaMan series has had playable characters in a cameo game as well as the games they've appeared in.
MegaMan Classic - 4
Spoiler:
Marvel vs Capcom (MegaMan, Roll)
Marvel vs Capcom 2 (MegaMan, Roll)
Cannon Spike (MegaMan)
Tatsunoko vs Capcom (Roll)
MegaMan X - None
MegaMan Legends - 3
Spoiler:
Marvel vs Capcom 2 (Tron Bonne, Servbot)
Namco x Capcom (MegaMan, Roll, Tron Bonne, Servbot; MegaMan Juno (Enemy)
Tatsunoko vs Capcom (MegaMan Volnutt)
MegaMan Zero - 2
Spoiler:
SNK vs Capcom: SVC Chaos (Zero)
Onimusha Blade Warriors (Zero)
MegaMan Battle Network - 1
Spoiler:
Onimusha Blade Warriors (MegaMan)
As you can see, Legends is only second to the classic series. Surprisingly, no characters from MegaMan X have been included in any crossovers as playable characters. I guess it isn't very popular in Japan.

Oh, and on a related note to this, I found out that Marvel vs Capcom 2 has been confirmed to be re-released in its Dreamcast form, which is the closest to the arcade original as well as what they use in Tournaments, onto the Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network complete with Online Gameplay incorporated as well as all 50+ characters unlocked from the get-go. It also seems that it used elements that the Dreamcast couldn't load at their full quality that the Live Arcade & PSN re-releases will. Its release is set for this summer, so it won't be long before we get to brawl with MegaMan, Roll, Tron Bonne, & Servbot against or with other Capcom and Marvel characters.

So i need to play them, I don't like to criticize something without having played it before XD
Yeah, I advise trying it out on a rom. I don't advise beating it on one though, since roms are illegal as we all know, but if you like it, try to find a copy. There are 6, most of which have two versions. All of them are on the GBA, although MegaMan Battle Network 5 was released on Nintendo DS as well, called MegaMan Battle Network 5: Double Team DS, which features both versions of BN5, Team ProtoMan & Team Colonel. You don't always play as MegaMan, such as BN5, where you can play as other members of your team such as ProtoMan, Colonel, Medi, ShadowMan, as well as others. Battle Network also features several Boktai references, which is a great series, shame it never did well outside Japan.

If one wants to experience the EXE series at it's best, I highly recommend MMBN 2 and 3 (either version will do, but I had Blue). In my opinion, that was the height of the series. After 3, you notice the games get A LOT easier (beat Gregar first try with full HP)

I found this on Protodude's Rockman Corner. Note that Rockman DASH is the Japanese name for MegaMan Legends.
"A recent survey conducted by Famitsu asked its readers to rank which franchise sequels they're craving to see most. Surprise, surprise, sequels to Rockman X and Rockman DASH made the cut -- DASH at number 7, X at number 13:

1. Sakura Taisen (aka Sakura Wars) 267 votes
2. Shenmue 249 votes
3. Okami 204 votes
4. Gotchaforce 189 votes
5. Xenogears 185 votes
6. Breath of Fire 180 votes
7. Rockman Dash 176 votes
8. Ogre Battle 174 votes
9. Chikyuu Boueigun (aka Earth Defence Force) 162 votes
10. Kowloon's Gate 151 votes
11. Shinobido 141 votes
12. Demon's Souls 123 votes
13. Rockman X 110 votes

Whether Capcom is aware of these numbers is anybody's guess. In any case, I'm very happy to see DASH in the top ten, incredibly reassuring to know the Japanese demand is still there after all these years."

On a side note, I recently downloaded the ripped soundtrack for Tatsunoko vs Capcom. Its really good. Relating to this, TvC has 2 MegaMan related songs.
The Flutter vs Gesellschaft - Theme of MegaMan Volnutt, Song Origin: MegaMan Legends
Kaze yo Tsutaete (Winds, Let Him Know) (Ver. 2008) - Theme of Roll (Classic), Song Origin: MegaMan Battle & Chase, also used in Marvel vs Capcom

I really love Roll's Theme song, its very nice and it actually has vocals! I put the most like translation for its name up there, it could also be translated as "Winds, let that person know" or "Winds, Teach him/her", since there is no specified gender.
Listen to them both here: http://protodudesrockmancorner.blogspot.com/2008/12/tatsunoko-vs-capcom-soundtrack-samples.html
Listen to all character themes here: http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=B1D23855AFA3E63C

Tatsunoko vs Capcom itself is actually very good reportedly, good enough that Capcom is attempting to get around licensing issues that exist to release it in the US. Although they say themselves that it will likely never see US release. If that turns out to be the case, I'm going to import it, because I love fighting games, albeit sucking at them, and it has a few of my fav characters in it, MegaMan Volnutt, Roll, & Morrigan, who has a new model for the first time.

I wish they would release Tatsunoko vs Capcom in America.

Also, does anyone know what's up with the name changes from Japanese to English (Megaman, Protoman, and I think maybe Bass too, but I'm not sure on that one.) I really liked the music related names they had.
You may get your wish, sorta..rumor has it that Capcom will use the "guts" of Tatsunoko vs Capcom to make another game, Marvel vs Capcom 3. They will keep all of the Capcom characters the same and exchange the Tatsunoko side with Marvel characters such as Wolverine, Spider-Man, Hulk, etc. It will be the same basic game, just with new characters, stories, and stages. The rumor stems from a Marvel source saying that MvC3 will be made "before you think" whereas a Capcom source said that he'd like to make it someday. Furthering this was the revealing of Marvel vs Capcom 2 for XBLA & PSN, which Capcom had to stop making discs for PS2 & Xbox because they lost the Marvel liscense, which may mean that they have gotten it back.

Sure, here's why.
Rockman to MegaMan
--Reason: Capcom USA thought the US audience wouldn't get the reason for his name and would think that he has a "Rock" power like ElecMan's electricity power. Most translations kept his real name as "Rock", although Powered Up changed it to "Mega", which is dumb. The MegaMan name was carried on in future series to maintain continuity.
Blues to Protoman
--Reason: Mostly the same as above, they thought that US gamers wouldn't get the musical reference and question why he isn't actually Blue.
Dr. Right to Dr. Wright to Dr. Light
--Reason: Mostly just mistranslations, eventually they settled on Light as his last name. His first name was always translated correctly as "Thomas".
Forte to Bass
--Reason: Capcom USA believed that Forte didn't sound cool enough for US gamers, they figured Bass would sound cooler.
Gospel to Treble
--Reason: Nintendo USA in the SNES era was very against religious references in games released on its system, which is why The Legend of Zelda: Triforce of the Gods subtitle was changed to A Link to the Past and all religious references removed. Gospel, a name taken from Christianity, was renamed Treble, to go along with his owner's US name of Bass. Ironic considering that they didn't think US gamers would get the references before.
Vava to Vile (MegaMan X series)
--Reason: Vava sounds to similar to Boba, as in Boba Fett, the character Vile's appearance is based on. They wanted to avoid a lawsuit from LucasArts and thus changed the name.
Irregular to Maverick
--Reason: I'm not positive, but I believe that Capcom USA probably believed that Maverick sounds better than Irregular.
Vile to Weil (MegaMan Zero series)
--Reason: The name Vile was already used for another character, see above, so they went with a name pronounced the same way, only with a W, although it would be pronounced the exact same if said in the German style, where W is pronounced the same as a V.

To go along with a previous statement of mine, I recently downloaded the Marvel vs Capcom OST.
