Hoi guys!
Sorry about notposting a new poll last week. It was supposed to be on Dr. Yung and if he was still at large or not. Never mind, this poll is more personal.

Ok, I've been asking myself this over and over again.

Why do the Grade Nines think they own the bus?

See, I'm in Grade Eight and my school goes up to Grade Nine. And for a while now, no Grade Eights or Sevens are allowed in the back. And after a while I got fed up with this rule. They don't own the back. We all have a right to sit where we want.

First Come, First Serve.

That's my motto.

So, I began sitting in the back 3 weeks ago, and so far all I got was a huge pinch in my hand (which still by the way hurts, even a week later) and tons of insults. But, I stand my ground. But I need to ask someone if what I'm doing is right.

I asked my Dad and he agrees with me but his girlfriend disagrees. The teachers agree but the students disagree.

What do you think? Plz leave comments! I'll follow your decision after 1 week.

Thx!

Just leave it alone. Its a common thing in school were if you are in an older grade you get the better seats. I say do not continue as it will only make your reputation and status quo worse. I know bad advice but somethings just work in ways that cannot be controlled.

Of course the cool kids will sit as near to the back as they can get without 'losing formation', but first come first serve is all I have ever observed since nobody is honestly stupid enough to really care about the five seats along the back — which are the noisiest (bus' engines are at their rears) and least comfortable (less headroom) anyway.
I tend to go for the seats either side of the steps leading up to the back.

oh noez they dunt let u sit at the bac nw u wil b uncoool.

Seriously? It really doesn't matter. If you sit there and they slap you in the face for sitting there, slap them back. But seriously, don't sit there just to cause a fight. Cause that's kinda pathetic :\

I wouldn't sit back there. From the first week on the bus, you should know that the youngest kids sit in the front and oldest in the back. That's the rule unless one of the older kids have a younger sibling, which means the younger sibling can sit there somethings too.

Other than that, I wouldn't.

Does it really matter that much? The front is so cool c:
No, no one owns the bus. Sit wherever you want.

i wanna be the wind that fills your sails,
& be the hand that lifts your veil.
& be the moon that moves your tide,
the sun coming up in your eyes.
be the wheels that never rust,
& be the spark that lights you up.
all that you've been dreaming of and more,
so much more, i wanna be your everything.. <3

Simple: Don't sit at the back of the bus. I don't see what's so great about the back seat anyway. Just go with the flow and avoid trouble. ;)

You shouldn't let them thing that because they're older they can push around anyone they want. Stand your ground.
'It's been a prevalent notion. Fallen sparks. Fragments of vessels broken at the Creation. And someday, somehow, before the end, a gathering back to home. A messenger from the Kingdom, arriving at the last moment. But I tell you there is no such message, no such home -- only the millions of last moments . . . nothing more. Our history is an aggregate of last moments.'

I only rode the bus waaay back in Kindergarten and 1st grade. The front was the best because I was away from all the mean 3rd/6th graders, but they would just harass me anyway so it didn't matter. :/

On field trips and other stuff (with my own class), I sat in the front because I liked to. Plus, I was more concerned with what people I sat by (or didn't sit by) than where I was in the bus.

It's just the unwritten law of the bus. Not sure why, but it is. xD

Meh, I always sat in the first seat behind the driver. FOR TWO YEARS. I dunno why I did, but I did. xD (well, the seats where assigned after a while, but I would've sat there anyway.) (But on feild trips I sat wherever my few friends where...... usually in the back of the middle)

It's not necessarily where all the popular kids reside in the bus. Sometimes, students sit in the back because they think that the camera on the bus, if your bus has one, wouldn't catch them doing anything wrong.

In my bus, everything happens in the middle or back parts. I generally avoid the back because of the annoying, little brats who think that they own the school. Therefore, I only go there if any of my friends drag me there. XD

That's great that you're standing up for yourself and all, but seriously, why do you need to sit in the back of the bus? Is it really more important to you than being injured by the older kids?

All you will get is insults and a bad reputation, and it doesn't matter where you sit. Just ignore them. All that will happen is their egos will get bigger and once they get in highschool, they'll be picked on by the seniors.

alright dude look. if it is that important to you, do it. just remember that you will get your *** kicked for a little while. if you are willing to take merciless beatings from older kids, then go right ahead.
But remember one thing: things just work this way. They have for a while. Believe it or not, its supposed to be an incentive for the younger kids. You know, make them want to get to the higher grades so that they CAN sit in the back, or miss an occasional class, or beat up the freshmen on the first day of school:D. Schools have worked like this for a long time. My old school took it to the extreme because we had the worst drop out rate in the country (seriously, that was my freshmen year).
So there it is, go with the flow, or stand up for what you believe in. In a situation like this, just look to the great Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Look at what he went through for what he thought was right and what everyone else thought was wrong. I'm just saying.

I don't ride a bus to school anymore. But take my advice because I've ridden in buses before.

Sit in the middle right of the bus.

That is the place you'll least likely get hurt if you end up in an accident. The back is just a suicide pit if you ride it all the time.
