Yes, you heard it.
The head mastermind of the 9/11 terrorist attacks against the US used HOTMAIL to signal his US Operative to commence the attacks.

If they used [email protected], I would've become a terrorist purely for that email.

Hmmm, that's rather sad.
Which gets me thinkin', do they (US Government) moniter IMs these days?
My dad told me that they probably do. I told him about this, and he said they probably started monitoring the emails/IMs and stuff after this happened.
I mean, if I was in the government, I'd monitor the emails after this happened. xD

But guess what? Odds are they didn't communicate in English and probably used a distinct dialect, which invalidates any flagging methods.

Either way, I still believe in the whole 9/11 conspiracy theory, simply because Physics is one of my major areas of study, and the way the planes just sliced through steel just doesn't happen. I suppose that this could reinforce a conspiracy theory though, considering Hotmail is supposedly monitored, but meh, what do I really know?

How ironic that an organisation whose entire purpose is to stand against Western technological and cultural influence in the Islamic regions should use the Microsoft Service Network.
You didn't notice that Western society funds the aggression with it's heavy reliance on Arab oil, and that they're basically free to do whatever they want in Western countries because we value freedom and democracy so highly?

lol conspiracy theory.

Funny how it's being reported from Yahoo. Seems like they just want to get an edge over the competition :P

Yes, Yahoo reports that all their messages had a distinct "-8" number code.

Huh.. they monitor IMs and Emails? Do they look for keywords, I wonder, like "terrorist" and "bomb"? I highly doubt that, but then what? Do they have millions of workers who look through every single email and every single instant message? I don't even think that's possible..

It's a confusing thing, and I don't quite like the idea of my IMs being monitored, but as long as I'm not doing any terrorist stuff, I guess it doesn't matter. x3

This story is no longer very relevant to the current times. 9/11 happened 8 years ago. It doesn't matter to me what the terrorists used to signal the attack. Nor do I think it matters very much to the government. And that we're finding out about this 8 years from 9/11? Heh. This may well have been known to the government, and was recently de-classified and leaked. It's hard to say for sure.

Oh my, double irony. I don't personally value oil so no, it didn't come to mind.

and that they're basically free to do whatever they want in Western countries because we value freedom and democracy so highly?
Democracy perhaps, but an explicit policy of freedom is relatively exclusive to North American nations.

I don't believe that invading privacy is the answer. No matter what we do, it's not going to deter terrorists who are stubbornly determined to get at us.

When a persons rights have to go on the legal chopping block, that means the people are being stupid and letting the terrorists win.
