the title explains it. Find a Manga you think not too many people would know about (or one you just really love that is popular) and tell people about it.

Also, if it's not too much trouble, if you do read a manga that someone recommends, just quote them and tell them what you thought of it.

For me, I'd say read Law of Ueki. The anime was missing blood from one of the bloodiest Mangas I have ever read. The story goes like this.

Kosuke Ueki is a First Year Junior High student who has been given the power to turn trash into trees and has been asked to participate in a battle to determine the next Celestial King from Mr. Kobayashi, who is really a Celestial who, if Ueki wins, not only will Mr. K become Celestial King, but Ueki will obtain the Talent of Blank. The talent that can give anyone any talent from giving a paraplegic the Talent of Walking to giving yourself the Talent of Domination to rule the world. Will he win? Or will he die trying?

Technically a light novel, but it's manga-like enough.

Slayers

"Lina Inverse doesn't like to brag but she's a genius sorceress, invincible warrior, and a legend in her own lunchtime. Lina's also in need of cold cash. When she comes across some stolen loot, she figures the thieves won't mind sharing. But it turns out that Lina also snags a secret hidden in the booty... And now everyone's out to see if she's got the goods!"
Stolen from the back of the first book. Basically, Lina is an awesome sorceress, who just so happens to attract a ton of trouble. She usually ends up having to defeat vicious demons and dark gods trying to destroy the world, of course.
She's joined by her loyal bodyguard Gourry, the master swordsman without brains, and occasionally the mysterious chimera Zelgadiss and the love-freak princess Amelia.
It's written excellently, with very nice art pages. If you haven't even heard of this series, you're seriously missing out.
