Yeah, it's been double posting everything I send for the last ten minutes fffff. XD;

I went into Re:Coded hoping to really like it since it was on DS (my favourite system) and it used the BBS battle system to some extent (my favourite battle system) but... I just couldn't like it. I tried so hard but by world two I was ready for it to end and it just dragged on and on and on. x_X;

It was originally a cell phone game so I doubt anyone would have been surprised. u_u I guess they wanted to reach more people in Japan and I don't know how popular the iPhone (or even iPods and iPads) are there. :s Still would have been a better fit though. I keep saying that some version of that game would've been awesome on a phone (and much more forgiveable) but as an entry on the DS, it was just mediocre at best. Especially coming right after BBS (which I think may be the best game in the series for multiple reasons) and Days (a really good entry on the DS, all things considered).

Oh, and as for a VII remake... apparently we won't get it 'cause it would take too long to make. :( I can look up the article when I'm not about to head to bed sometime but someone interviews the head of Square-Enix and he said that while everyone wants to remake VII, it would just take waaay too many resources and waaay too much time to do it on PS3. 8(
In Japan, they could probably reach more people on the DS. When the DSi came out, one tenth of the Japanese population owned a DS, and it's probably even more now. I don't think iOS devices are as popular in Japan as the DS is, also. Anyway, I heard Re: Coded was horrible, so I haven't played it yet.

Kinda random, but I was kinda wondering what everyone's favorite KH trio was and why. For me personally, it was probably the Organization Trio. While they may not have been "real" their relationships certainly felt that way to me. The original trio? I dunno... as touching as they are, and as much as I love the characters themselves for who they are, the trio dynamic has never really been there for me at all till the VERY end of KH2, and even then: it was simply Sora and Riku alone fighting together. As for the BbS trio? Again: loved the characters and everything, but the trio was more Terra and Ven with Aqua thrown in there on the side than it was a trio. And where was the trust and loyalty they should've had, considering how long they supposedly had known one another? The Days trio... they were genuine friends who you truly got to see grow and bond through their interactions with one another. To me, they showed the most friendship and connections than the other two did.

omg hello everyone, I wondered where this thread wandered off to.

My favourite trio by far is Terra, Aqua, Ven. I love the original three but I really dislike Riku so he kinda ruins it for me. And the Org trio is... well, they're adorable, but Xion just seems too "tossed into the plot for the sake of making a DS game to profit from" to me and it sort of ruins the dynamic that Roxas and Axel already sort of had. D: But TAV, I just love them all to pieces and their end is so tragic. I wish they had more screen time together which is why I'm so eager to get to the next parts of the story, so we can see if they'll be able to reunite.

Anyone have any objections if I change this club to a general Square-Enix fanclub? D:

Your favourite trio?
It would have to be the Organization Trio. They're the closest to each other, even if they're aren't. I love them. Xiooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooon~ <3

Go for it. It's basically what this is, anyway. xDD;;
Gives more topics to us as well.

I'm glad you're getting into it this time around. :D

And I need to play some DQ games. I've only ever played Dragon Warrior Monsters and I loved it, but it was only a spinoff. @[email protected]

I have no objections to turning this into a general Square Enix fan club at all. It would probably benefit us by having me not kill the thread for a week by posting :/

The only Dragon Quest game that I've played was Dragon Quest Heroes: Rocket Slime, lmao. It was actually a pretty fun game, in my opinion, though it basically has nothing to do with Dragon Quest at all.

I had a demo of VIII and played that. I don't remember disliking it or anything but I just never picked it up until it was too late to find anywhere. :<

And I think I played a little of X? Was that the last huge release? idk. I just remember I made myself have pink hair and never really got past the beginning because my flash cart died and I was too cheap to go buy it lol. 8(

I beat Radiant Garden with Aqua, and it was pretty fun. Then I tried to do the Olympus Coliseum with Aqua and couldn't even make it past the first round. I really don't like magic in this game :(

It was probably IX since IX is the only that I remember that has actual customizability. X had next to no news for years now, but it's coming out on the Wii.

Dragon Quest V is probably my favorite of the ones I played(III, IV, V, VI, VIII), but then again it was my first step into Dragon Quest. It has a constant level of quality, unlike Final Fantasy. The main storyline is really lame, but the problems that individuals have are very interesting.

For example,
Spoiler:
In Dragon Quest VI, there's a woman that was cursed by a sorceror to live inside a mirror. He would let her go if she promised to marry him, but she never changed her opinion for centuries because her and the prince were in love.

@Luck: If you level up Snow White's D-Link, there should be an attack that has a chance of just warping enemies out of battle permanently. You rely a little on luck but you can do some battles in a few seconds with it. :P It's the only way I made it through on my level 1 run. (And now I'm stuck on Deep Space against a group of enemies, not even a boss ffff. x_x)

And yeah it probably was IX. :P

Just beat Birth By Sleep with Aqua n_n

I have to admit, I didn't like her in the beginning because her physical attacks were so weak, but by the end she was a much better character than Terra. Totally enjoyed playing as her, it's such a shame that the two last bosses were such a pain to deal with :(
Now I'll finish the game with Ventus and then I'll probably move onto Kingdom Hearts 1.

Did you collect the Xehanort Reports? I mean all of them to get last episode?

You should do it because it makes Aqua even more epic. :>

I finally beat my LV1 run of BBS. xD; Taking a bit of a KH break before I go ahead and try out the extra bosses on a normal run.

In the mean time, I'm trudging through a new game+ of Final Fantasy X-2. I finally got my percent up to 100% so when I beat the game, I'll get the perfect ending. <3

After XIII, I think X-2 has my favourite battle system of all the FFs I've played. n__n It's so much fun.

The plot is ridiculous though, and they kind of ruined (or too harshly changed) Yuna's character. Character designs are good, imo, but they just don't fit and they're SO obviously just fanservice that it's a little uncomfortable at times...

But it's still tons of fun to play. @[email protected];

Not yet I don't think, I still need to finish Ventus's chapter and find out any I may have missed on the way with Aqua and Terra; hopefully there's not a point of no return for them.

And the Final Fantasy Type-0 site was recently put up! Here it is for anyone that missed it.

Link

It's coming out in Summer 2011 for Japan for the PSP.

Here's some gamplay information for anyone that wasn't checking the game out.
Spoiler:
The battle system in the game is a new evolution of the "ATB Kai" system that was created by Takatsugu Nakazawa for Final Fantasy X-2, and later refined in Crisis Core -Final Fantasy VII-. Unlike Crisis Core, Type-0's combat is party-based. Instead of navigating through menus, actions are mapped directly to the face buttons for quick access. Nakazawa says he wants it to be the fastest version of ATB ever created. It also supports both Ad-hoc and Infrastructure multiplayer for up to three players. This is manifested not in full-scale multiplayer, but as an emergency backup when the player's party is about to be wiped out. The player will play in single-player with a party of three, and when a party member dies, they will be switched out for another. In the emergency of loss of nearly all characters, the player will be able to call in aid from another player for a duration of three minutes, with bonus time granted through good play. In some case the victory can be decided in other ways like defeating the enemy leader, which will trigger the surrender of its minions.
Queen and Nine fighting an enemy leader.

Soldiers surrendering after the defeat of their leader.
Like Final Fantasy XII, the character has the option to choose the leader of their party, but it has differed by allowing them to change party members during actual gameplay. The characters who lead the party are the ones playable. Summons also appear in the game and play a role in the characters' growth, and they are said to be controllable as well, in the vein of Final Fantasy X's Aeons.

The structure of the game is mission-based. There are also supposed to be sub-objectives in battle to strive for. It is shown on the TGS 2010 trailer that the game will have a world map, and the player can ride a chocobo or fly an airship and there will be no random encounters and the monsters will roam around the world map. This new trailer has also shown another change of the interface during gameplay. The trailer also shows that blood is drawn from an enemy whenever it is attacked. Based on the trailer, it may be possible for players to determine the weak point of the enemies, allowing them to deal a deathblow which would result in an instant death. As shown in the trailer, Queen and Rem were able to inflict a deathblow to their enemies when the crosshair is red ( possibly the sign that reveals an enemy's weak point ).

Now that I'm finished with my work, I can check the link out that you sent me. :D

Dragon Quest(/Warrior) is a really good series, though I've only played IV, VIII and IX. (VIII is definitely my favourite, I spent an entire summer playing it and the vastness of the world was unlike any other RPG I'd played up until then.) Though the puns... Ahhhh...

And I agree with Lightning about X-2; battle system is my favourite out of all of the ones I've played, but everything else... Meh. Even Yuna's voice actress sounded uncomfortable to me. =/
