Chapter 1: The Ketchum’s
The weather warm, the water calm and crystal clear. A perfect for an adventure just like for Ash and friends. After Misty won the Grand Festival they are now traveling overseas to Silver Isle for a little R and R. Everyone is happy and I do believe love is in the air. Can’t you smell it?
“Today sure is a nice day,” Max yawned.
“Yeah, Max,” May replied letting out a sigh. “It’s a good thing Misty and I both competed. Either of us would have won this for sure.”
Max snickered. “Of course, she did beat you in the semi-finals.”
May growled at her brother, but stopped from yelling at him when she caught movement out of the corner from her eye.
“Umm you guys,” Junior said stepping from the shadows.
“Huh?”
“You haven’t seen my parents have you?”
“I believe their right below us,” said Max pointing down to the lower deck.
Junior let out a sigh. “Thanks!”
Below, May, Max, and Junior, Ash and Misty were looking out over the ocean.
“Oh, Ash isn’t it the view beautiful?” Misty asked. She placed her arms on the railing,
resting her head.
“Yeah, I think the view can’t get any more beautiful,” He answered looking into her cerulean blue eyes. The two looked at each other as if thinking the same thing. They then began to lean towards each other when interrupted by their son.
“Mom, Dad!”
Ash stopped abruptly, gazing into Misty’s eyes for a few seconds. In unison they turned to look at Junior. They really loved their son, but sometimes he popped up at the wrong time.
“Yes, Ash,” Misty said as sweetly as she could, even if she was now a little annoyed.
“Mom, that can get annoying sometimes you know. Especially if Dad is right here,” Junior said furious.
“He has a point there Mist,” Ash added.
“What is it Junior?”
“Brock is causing trouble and is messing with the captain. She threaten to turn the ship around and throw him overboard!-which would be kinda funny.”
Misty sighed. “I’ll be back. Come on Junior. Let’s go rescue Brock
again from another terrible threat.”
You think he’d learn by now.
Ash watched as they left. He let out a long sigh. His Pikachu jumped up onto the railing of the boat. Seeing his trainer looking down he couldn’t help but wonder.
“What’s wrong Ash?” he questioned.
“Everything! How can I come up with the courage to- who am I kidding- of course- no maybe I-why did I chose to come here- oh Pikachu! Why is love so hard?”
Pikachu blinked.”Uh…”
“Pikachu!”
Saved by Electra. Pikachu smiled. “Yes, my little rosebud?”
The Pikachu climbed up the railing to stand next to Pikachu. She had the heart shaped tail, showing she was female. She also had unusual cerulean blue cheeks. She belonged to Misty, being Misty’s only Electric Pokémon making the exception of her rules. Electra was known to have mythical powers, being able to transform into any Pokémon she wanted and using psychic abilities. She had taught Pikachu and Volten how to use the attacks while in Johto.
“Come on! I’ve been wanted to show you this cool view from the top of the ship
all day!” she said her eyes twinkling. “It’s the most-’’she was cut short by the sound of Brock screaming. She then just looked at Pikachu.
Pikachu understood this.
She heard everything. After reading her mind he nodded back.
“Sorry Ash. Alright Electra show me this place,” Then the two electric mouse Pokémon ran off together.
Ash looked back out to the ocean. Unaware of Misty’s return. Her voice startled him.
“What’s up?”
“Nothin,” Ash replied dryly. “Hey Misty?”
“Yeah?”
“I was just wondering that ….you…know when we hit land?”
Crud. I just can’t do it!
Luckily that is something I’m wondering about though. Man I sure could go for a cheeseburger when we get there. Why am I thinking about food at a time like this?
“Any minute now,”
“LAND HO!” called the lookout above.
“You see Ash.”
“Yeah, but now we have to figure out where we’re going to eat, to stay, and a lot of
other things.”
“Hey, guys!” Brock called below with Max and Junior with him. “Come look at this!” Ash and Misty ran to the deck below.
“If you look closely you can see the Lugia,” Brock finished after their arrival. Everyone looked out over the edge. They hoped they could spot one.
“I don’t see anything,” murmured Max.
“Attention! Attention! We have now hit the twin island of Silver Isle, Granite Isle. You may now go to your nearest check point. That is all,” the intercom then clicked off.
“Come on you guys!” May called now next in line for the exit. “I saved you a spot!”
Everyone immediately stopped looking for Lugia and ran over. Once everyone checked out they left the ship.
“So where to first?” Misty asked.
“How about the hotel?” Ash suggested with a sly smile.
May noticed this with Misty completely unaware of the smile. “How about we head to Silver Isle. Or go Lugia watching!”
“No way!” Ash yelled. “You saw on the ship, no Lugia what so ever, besides when we head to Silver Isle we’ll Lugia watch in the way there. We also don’t know what time we’ll get back and the hotel check in might be full.”
“Ash has a point there May,” Brock replied. “I agree we should check in first and get our rooms.”
“Well, we already know who’s gonna be in a room already,” Max murmured Junior. Junior nodded. “Alright let’s see.” Max said taking out his Pokénav. “There are 5 hotels nearby, but the closes is the Stormania.”
“Stormania?” Ash, Junior, Brock, and May questioned.
“Oh, yeah. I have it on my Pokégear. It’s not far and not too expensive either. Even if the tickets I got us here free, but don’t pay for the hotel.” Misty replied.
“Well,” Pikachu said holding up a paw. “Let’s go!”
******************
“Welcome!” said the server at the counter. “To our famous hotel, ‘Stormania‘! I’m Katie.”
“Oh!” Brock said rushing up to the counter. He took Katie’s hand, staring into her eyes.
“We’re glad to be here! Especially when some like you to greet us. Also why not we-”
“I’ll greet you to someone, how about
La Door?” Max asked pulling Brock away by the ear.
Everyone watched Max pull him away, sweat-dropping and laughing nervously.
“Please excuse our friend,” Misty said recovering first. “But we like to make a reservation for two rooms. Since that is all we can afford.”
“Okay. Now we need your names and which party of three in each room,”
“Sure thing,” said Ash. “I’m Ash Ketchum. This is Misty and our son Ash “junior” Ketchum. Here, dare I say it, the guy who was flirting with you, is Brock. And this is May and Max.”
“All right and I guess the Ketchum’s will share a room together?”
“The Ketchum’s?” everyone questioned.
“Excuse me, but my son may be a Ketchum, but I’m not!” Misty exclaimed.
“I’m sorry,” she said. “I guess you two aren’t married yet.”
“
Married!” Brock, May, and Max shouted. They tried to hold back their laughter.
Ash blush a deep magenta and Misty a deep scarlet. Ash opened his mouth to protest but was lost for words. Misty wasn’t ready to recover either, so May took over.
“Okay the Ketchum’s-”
“May!” Ash and Misty yelled still blushing.
“Sorry. Anyway they will have a room together and the rest of us in the other,”
“Okay then. You are now logged in. The adults will have the keys. May I give you a pamphlet of tomorrow’s festival?”
Ash answered this. “Yes and tomorrow starts our seven day stay, right?”
“Yes sir,” said Katie and handed everyone their room keys.
After collecting their keys, everyone made their way out of the hotel.
“Now where to?” asked May. “I read the pamphlet and none of the ferries for Silver Isle run today. Actually, the island is closed for tomorrow.”
“Well-”Ash said looking up at the sky when interrupted by some growling stomachs. It was his and Misty’s. They each clutched them in embracement.
“It looks like the ‘Ketchum’s’ are hungry!” May teased.
Max and Junior laughed at this.
“Yeah,” Brock said. “Misty your stomach hasn’t sound liked that since you were expecting Junior.”
“Well, I’m a growing woman,” Misty said. “Right, May?”
“Yeah,” May replied, holding her stomach as it started to growl too.
“Let’s get these ‘growing women’ something to eat then,” Ash chuckled.
Everyone laughed at this and walked off in search of a restaurant.
