Tier 1: Born to be a Hero

'1...2...3...POOF! Mightyena forgot Tackle. And, Mightyena learned Crunch!"

"Yes, finally!" beamed 14-year old Sugar Fleming, quickly jabbing the A Button.

She had trained her Mightynea hours on hours to teach it that key move, Crunch, one of Mightyena's most powerful attacks.

Along with her Gardevoir Blaziken, Mightyena was in her infamous Hoenn team. She had grown attached to them when she started Pokemon Sapphire, the first Pokemon game she ever got.

So far, she had just defeated the Mossdeep City Gym Leaders, Tate and Liza. She used Mightyena and Gardevoir in the double battle, leaving Blaziken out since it was at a type advantage.

Now she was heading towards Slateport City to start her rebellion against Team Aqua.

"Sugar! The bus will be here soon! Get your stuff ready!" called her mom from the bottom of the stairs.

"O.K!"

Sugar got off her bed, saving and turning off the game and stuffing it in her pocket. She went over to the mirror to comb any bed head. She stroked her long, brown hair in quick strokes on each end.

Then she picked up her backpack off her computer chair, and ran the stairs.

"Bye Mom!"

As the school bus rode down the busy streets, Sugar lay her head on the window, lost in her mind.

Around her, all the boys were yelling and the girls were chatting to their friends.

Sugar wasn't a kind of girl who liked to talk about the latest fashions or the hottest movie hunks or even about what happened the past weekend.

For some reason, she felt different from everyone else. In a way even she couldn't comprehend.

Before long, Period One had begun. Math with Mr. Grath.

Math was her least favourite subject. And Mr. Grath was her least favourite teacher. She never found an interest in numbers. To her, they were meaningless. And how Mr. Garth taught them, it made her hate them even more.

Mr. Grath walked into the classroom, as grumpy as usual. Most of the kids liked to call him Mr. Grouch behind his back.

"O.K class! Please turn to page 45 and we'll correct questions 8 - 15! Hopefully eveyone's done since it was assigned a week ago.

"Oh no!" Sugar gasped in her mind. She had totally forgot about it, once again.

When Mr.Garth turned around to begin writing on the dusty chalk board the covered the front wall of the classroom, Sugar whirled to her best friend, Talon.

"Talon, I..." Sugar began, clasping her pure white hands together.

"I know, I know. Here you go." Talon sighed, handing her a copy of his work.

"You're a lifesaver!" Sugar smiled.

Talon could only blush.

Before long, periods past, and lunch finally came.

As the loud luch bell rang through the long, marble hallways, Sugar was first to get out of Ms. Palon's Social Studies class, towards the cafeteria.

To Sugar, lunch was her favourite period at school.

Within seconds, Sugar dashed to the front of the lunch line, grabbing a big, orange tray to stuff all her favourite foods on.

Muffins, Chocolate Bars, Sandwiches, Ice Cream...

Her mouth watered at the thought, but slowly disappeared when she read a sign on the front of the doors.

CLOSED FOR INSPECTION

"Awwwwwwww" she moaned, putting the tray back in the pile. No lunch for her.

"Now what will I do/" she moaned to herself.

Then, an idea struck her like a lightning bolt!

"I know! I'll go to the mini mart down the road! Better than nothing!" she beamed!

"I'm such a genius!"

As Sugar booked it down the long, dirty sidewalk, she heard a moan in a nearby bush.

She may of been hungry, bu curiosity always got the best of her.

She walked over very slowly, taking baby steps towards it.

As she pushed away the small branches, she discovered a small, white cat with a bandage on it's head. it gave small little whines in the air, like cries for help.

"Oh, the poor thing." she said under her breathe

She reached over and picked up the cat, cradling it in her arms.

The cat gave small meows, licking her fingertips.

"Let's take that stupid bandage off you for starters." she said to it, pulling the small, brown bandage off.

To her surprise, what was underneath wasn't cat fur. It was a small, golden coin-like jewel, sparkling in the sunlight.

"Weird, but very familiar." she thought in her mind.

Suddenly, the cat jumped out of her arms and back into the bushes.

"Well ,guess that's that." she shrugged, walking back onto the sidewalk.

The cat watched her from a gate post, eyeing her curiously.

"Could she be the one?"

Meanwhile, in a dark, rural area, a mysterious figure sat in a throne made of rotten skulls, smiling with glee, holding a glowing green sphere in his hand.

"Now, my Golanian! Go, fetch me some Aura!" he cackled, throughing it up into the air.

The orb turned into the shape of a crow, flying up into the dark sky, with it's goals set.

"Oh no! It'll be closed soon!" Sugar gasped a she ran as fast as she could.

"Please, let there there be food!"

As Sugar ran towards the mart, the green row was flying to the same place. I t had it it's target set.

Withing seconds, the crow flew in through the mart's open window, towards it keeper Maggie.

The small lady was sweeping the floors when she saw the bird fly in. She jumped into action, flinging her broom.

"Shoo! Go away! No pests allowed!" she yelled.

After a couple swings, she managed to hit the bird with it.

But the bird started glowing, reverting back into an orb, than covering the broom in it's oozie structure.

"EEEEEEEEEEEKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!" Maggie scremaed, dropping the broom.

The broom hit the ground, but then started shifting, into a human figure.

With a final glow of light, the light died, revealing a tall lady with hair like the head of a broom and two, large poles in its hands. It's entire body was brown and green. The creature cackled at the mart keeper, pointing a pole in her face.

"Time to get rid of the problem." she grinned.

Minutes later, Sugar ran into the mart, panting loudly.

But no one was there. Not a soul.

"Hello? Anyone here?" Sugar called out, walking through the small isles.

Then, in the grain isle, she saw the owner, sprawled on the floor in a lifeless fashion.

"Oh my god! I better get some help! she screamed, running towards the door.

But the monster jumped in front of her, slamming the door shut.

"Bralumla! Your Aura is mine!" she cackled.

"Aura?" Sugar cried.

"Give me your Aura now!" Bralumla yelled, slashing at her with her two wooden poles.

Sugar tried dodging every swing, stepping back every time.

"I don't know anything about the aura you're talking about. Just let me leave, please!" Sugar screamed, dodging for the front window.

"There is no escape, human!" the monster laughed, smashing the window with the pole.

Piles of bottles fell onto Sugar, immobolizing her.

"Oh no! I'm stuck!" she screamed, trying to move.

"Your Aura's mine!" Bralumla cackled, slowly walking over.

As Sugar struggled to break free, she noticed the bottles were pepper spray. She quickly grabbed a bottle.

"I don't have Aura, but take this!" She yelled, pushing the trigger in front of the broom beast.

The liquid hit the monster's eyes, quickly burning them with huge shots of pain.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!" she screamed, toppling to the ground.

"Phew." Sugar sighed, managing to get up ot of the pile of bottles.

Suddenly, the same cat from the thicket jumped through the smashed window, onto Sugar's shoulder.

"Sugar, I finally found you!" the cat smiled, rubbing it's head on her neck.

"Y....Y....ou t.....Talked!" Sugar screamed.

"No time to explain. I'm Meowth, a Pokemon from the future, sent here to help you fight this monster." she said, pulling out Sugar's Game Boy from her pocket.

"Hey! That's mine!" Sugar screamed.

"Don't worry. i'm only adding this Star Jewel to it!" she meowed, pulling out a small, black star with a round, red jewel in the middle.

The star attached itself to the lid of the Game Boy, blinking with rays of red light.

"Now, say; Star Power, Reform!" the cat yelled.

"O.K, O.K. STAR POWER, REFORM!" Sugar yelled, holding her game boy up in the air.

A large, red light overtook her, shinging in all directions.

as soon as it came, it went, but a new figure stood in it's place.

It is...
