If you had read my original post, you would know that I said I wasn't sure if this was also true for second generation or just the third and fourth.

This is certainly the case in Generations II and III, but I can find no references to how Unown form is determined in Generation IV. =/ I would imagine that nothing has changed - the only significant changes in game mechanics came between Generations I and II, after all.

Really? I know with the new types, the battling mechanics were re-balanced and a few other things changed, but I would assume the most changes would be between second and third.
