I think they are fine things, and sometimes fun when you meet new people who are waiting to get the event Pokemon or thing as well.

I always thought it was a silly way for Nintendo to force us to go to their events to get certain legendary pokemon. To date, I've never been to one and probably never will because I could honestly care less about pokedex completion. I play the games to have fun and to battle, both of which I can sufficiently do without an Arceus or a Darkrai. >_>

I cannot ******* stand events! only one was EVER held in my town and that was the gamestop Deoxys. Hopefully, Nintendo will switch completely to wi-fi events soon because it will save me ALOT of gas money.

I think they're fun - and a great way to keep me collecting when I've completed the Pokedex. I mean, sure, I have a Darkrai, but do I have the Korean event one?

Plus, I like that they have different events available to different regions.

Do you even want to get me started? Look at my location. Eventless in, AL. We get NO events. We didn't even get GameStop Deoxys. I think it's a load of crap for Nintendo to do that. Some of us are in rinky-dink states where there isn't much of a fanbase so that gives them no reason. Well, hey. I think I'm a fan enough to cover the lost fanbase of the entire state of Alabama. As for meeting new people, I can't argue with that; it's fun meeting new people when I go to band events.

And before some of you go off on getting Wi-Fi, there isn't a way to get it that I know of. Also, when your parents don't even know you're on a forum talking to people you don't know in person, getting Wi-Fi to battle and trade with people you don't know wouldn't fly with them. At all.

I think it'd be nice if they were all wi-fi events, so I don't have to drive somewhere, but overall I think they are neat. They are a little exciting haha.

SilverSmeargleSplatter, there are plenty of places that offer free wi-fi. McDonald's is one example. Also try public libraries too. Hope that helps a little. Sorry about having no wi-fi. :(

Can you imagine how rediculous I'd look being in McDonalds with my DS? And our library doesn't have it.

I don't see how having your DS with you is ridiculous...but okay... :/

There other places besides McDonald's though. I know Barnes & Noble has begun to offer free wi-fi. And lots of restaurants offer it too to lure people in. I know some I-HOPS have it around here. And some 24 hour coffee shops too. Might want to find a list of local hotspots in your area that are free. You might be surprised.

RL events? No, I think they're absolutely ridiculous. Canada has never had one and I'm not travelling internationally just to get a Pokémon.

I'm fine with wifi ones nowadays because it's usually not too hard to find a wireless connection. But to have events only obtainable at a certain store or what have you, that bothers me. :( Especially because Canada, riiiight next to the US, doesn't get the events. ffffff.

No because (before wi-fi) not all people (which was me and others) couldn't get to these events or were too lazy to do so. Now some people don't have wi-fi and they really want these Pokemon badly and its not fair to them that they can't get a certain Pokemon because of not having wi-fi
