Has anyone actually played a Ninja Gaiden? I knew it was gonna be hard but holy mother of difficulty this game is murderous! And this made me think... Why do we play games that are made to kick our butts like heck? The game will make you feel like," Okay, I think I have the hang of this game." And then there's a boss that will kill you for a day. I don't understand. In real life, when something is too hard, we tend to give up. But with video games, no, we love those. Or at least I do. So, is there a theory on why you like or dislike difficult games?

Which ninja Gaiden are we talking about? NES or Xbox?

Either way, the way I see it, we sacrifice our sanity to challenging videogames because we want to feel like we've achieved something. We want to be assured that we can accomplish something even if we got ourselves raped while doing so. XD

Well, I became obsessed with games like I Wanna be the Guy, Ghosts and Goblins, and Ninja Gaiden for about a year, during which I was most commonly found doing the same thing. Over. And Over. And Over.

I have no idea what compels people to do these things. Maybe it's the need for challenge, or the desperate need to prove yourself. Whatever it is, it would make a great study.

I was prone to hide things because I was afraid that someone would unlock all my secrets.

I didn't realize that someone would be me.

Ninja Gaiden... I haven't played it, but it is very hard.

The idea is that games are hard to offer a challenge, and to be honest, eventually, if you master it, you feel wonderful, and you can do it again if you remember how. Life isn't like that though, even if you do something hard, you may not ever do it again, even if you get the chance.

XBOX, but the old arcade game is in there, or so I've heard.

I don't know which version of Ninja Gaiden you're talking about, but I have the NES trilogy and those games ARE HARD!!!!

That and Ghosts 'n' Goblins are the hardest games I've ever played.
