Introduction ;

Hello, people ~ ♪

My name is LugiaFreak, and this is my art thread. I have been drawing since I knew how to hold a pencil, and drawing is also what I like to do in my spare time. Although I'm just an amateur, I draw just because I love to. <3

So, this is where I'll be presenting my art. ~~I'm going to be updating this post with new drawings, but also bumping the thread if it needs to be bumped. So, be sure to check out the first post whenever I have new stuff. :3~~ ← Lies, I'm too lazy. Ignore that. xD

About the Artz ;

I have three kinds of art here - handrawn, digital and other things (paper crafts, pillows, etc). I just recently received a digital program, so there's not a lot of digital art - yet! :) However, there are a few problems...

1] I don't have a scanner. All of the handrawn art here was photographed with a camera, so the quality pretty much sucks all the way around. BUT! I will swap the bad-quality art with good-quality, scanned art whenever I get the chance. :)

2] I just got my digital program. I use Paint Tool SAI, which is amazing, but I'm still trying to figure out how to use it. :P

In the background, Mika I believe that says, the arms look like they'd be abnormally wide. This may sound weird, but if you put a line where the sides would normally be (in all that flailing and flopping passion), it actually makes it look better.

The microphone in Caliban's hand looks like it's lopsided and falling out of his fist. It should be facing more upwards toward the nose because that seems to be where his hand is facing.

Personally, I think it looks good orange. XD

Awwww. . Cute.

The shading on its nose looks like a random dot. The nose probably should've been shaded in. The right arm looks awkward. The forearm should have a bit of a curve at the top to make it look like it was crossing over the other leg and not just broken.

I'm also having an immense issue with the lines. They don't look well-done. You probably should've went over them. As of now, they're all over the place, especially near the eyes and backside.

Someone looks tired and angry~ There's not much wrong with this picture, except for the placement of the left paw. You should be able to see some of the arm and not just the paw. Of course, you're going for a cartoony look, so I guess that's not an issue.

The coil of the microphone is much smaller than it should be. However, if you're not going for the Dynamic Microphone look, then the top of the coil should be cut off, leaving it flat.

It's the same problem with this microphone as the other microphone.

I don't see anything wrong with this one.

Pikachu's back paws should be smaller, but, other than that, its anatomy is perfectly constructed.

The whole middle toe on the left leg (its left, not yours) shouldn't be rounded like that. The top should be opened up. Right now, it looks like Lucario is flipping us off with its toe. . The front paws could stand to be a bit bigger as well.

Cute, but can its tiny wings really support its massive body? O.o XD

Wow, this one has way too much going on. It's overwhelming. Not to mention its mouth is crooked. It also has a dent on the very top of its tail, right before that bell-like flower appendage.

Too fat. That's the first thing I noticed. Buneary are really rather skinny creatures. And there should be a line from the eye up to the eyebrow/dot. Also, the right ear on the Buneary on the right should be larger and more profound. Right now it just looks like a deformed part of the head.

. . . Do I wanna know? It's cute in a creepy way. .

Shouldn't his teeth be visible? And the left back paw (his left, not yours) should looks like it's touch the ground. Unless. . It's not?

Their bellies seem to be a bit too fat, as if they're just lying on the ground. Maybe try rounding them.

Very, very nice. ^^ However, the line across the chest, the one separating the two different colored furs, look like they're facing the wrong way from how you drew them. They don't look like the one across the bottom breast bone.

Like you said, you screwed up the anatomy of the wings. However, you'll be happy (?) to know that you draw birds way better than me.

He scares me. . And the way his tail is a different color from the rest of his body doesn't look good at all. His left arm (his left, not yours) shouldn't face downward at the top and should go straight. Did that make sense? *shot*

She's adorable! <3 But, like an actual fox, her face should be smaller than it is. Check the anatomy of a real fox and get a near-flawless appearance.

The grass looks nothing like grass. . It would look better if you pointed the tips. If you look here, you'll see they come to a rounded point.

The fireflies' lights should be brighter, and probably more ovacular. For the grass, see above.

Awww! Cute! <3 The front paws are too skinny, though. It's usually the back paws that are skinnier. I would know. I have two menaces. I mean dogs. .

Edit: OH! If you can read the writing, here's a quick thing I should tell you - I'm too lazy to convert raccoon to human years, so I just give them the age they'd have if they were human. ...Was that too confusing? XD Well, anyway, Giles is 42, Mika is 20, and Caliban is 237... 'Cuz he's from a different dimension. :DD

Your style is simplistic, but the few errors I saw were covered by Shinjislover.

Although, sometimes a slight change in proportion (mind you, slight), is a signature of style. One shouldn't aim for Sugimori's style, but their own. This is your only threat to your style, in reality. Try experimenting with different looks, maybe you'll find one you prefer!

This was really hard, since the pieces are so small... to give you an idea of its size, here's this tidbit: the yellow dots in the middle of the larger red ones are the same size as hole-punches in a piece of paper. :3

...Made with 82.7% paper, and 18.3% tape. :DD

You're off to a good start but you really need to study your anatomy and use references in your art. Pokémon and mythical creatures usually carry both human and animal traits and learning the proportions and basic structures will vastly improve your art.

Try using posemaniacs.com or even drawing from a few photos of your favourite animals. Carrying a sketchbook everywhere with you will be a good idea too. I can't wait to see improvements in your art, and I loved the dratini/dragonair fakémon so much! Keep going!
