Hi guys, I guess I will keep this week updated.

Pokemon Goals:
- Shiny Heatran (SR)
- Shiny Totodile (SR)
- Shiny Craindos (MM)

New:
- Shiny Surskit
I eventually bred this after 12 boxes of Masuda Method. I really love this shiny because its colour scheme is unique and fitting for the Pokemon which is why I used the Masuda Method, because I was so determined to find it.

- Shiny Skorupi
I was watching ProperGoodGamer on Twitch and he challenged the chat to find this Pokemon before him. Guess who won xD

- Shiny Nosepass
This one was encountered in a horde after GhostBGN obtained his shiny Cresellia on his Twitch. I have been watching Twitch more often as it seems to be a charm or distraction for these shinies.

Good luck on your hunts!

Latest Update.

Current Hunt:
- Shiny Lugia (SR)
- Shiny Houndour (MM)
- Shiny Geodude (must redeem my lost one!)

Pokemon Alpha Sapphire:
- Shiny Heatran
This was the fastest soft reset EVER for me. It was on 999 resets. She is beautiful :)

Pokemon Y & X (BACK TO BACK SHINIES)
- Shiny Ponyta and Flababe
I was looking for a shiny Slugma and completing the dex at the same time on different consoles. I found a shiny Ponyta on Pokemon X in the friend safari and at the same time a random encounter appeared on Pokemon Y and it was a shiny Flababe. I have these shinies already so it was REALLY disappointing. For a random encounter it HAD to be a Flababe. I literally have every colour of them shiny as well as a shiny Forges a spare white one and now another yellow one. This has got to be the worst random encounter ever.

Edit:
- Shiny Slugma
I finally got the Slugma in the friend safari :)

- Shiny Geodude
I was also able to redeem my shiny Geodude in a horde of 31. I have lost a shiny Geodude before here. This time there was no magnitudes involved!!

- Shiny Hoppip
This was a random horde after 100 induced ones and sadly I wanted the Psyduck but there is nothing wrong with two of the same Pokemon am I right :)

Been looking for shiny Breloom and Shroomish recently, hit 500 Friend Safari encounters and 400 Dex Nav encounters but no luck.

However I did discover two shinies, they weren't really hunted though. I traded someone a Porygon-Z for a shiny Sceptile on the GTS.

And I was looking through my living dex on Pokémon Bank and noticed a red star next to Togekiss. Hadn't noticed it before. I GTS'ed a lot of the fully evolved Pokémon that evolved via rare stones.
I checked the summary, apparently they got the egg on Jan 17th, 2015 and hatched it April 11th, 2016. Then they leveled it to 47.

No idea why they traded it for my level 1 Cleffa.

Happy Fall, SHC!! You know what that means...

It's time for the Fall Seasonal Quest!!!

The Fall Seasonal Quest!!! means that you get to make another team for the Yearly Quest! This one is super easy (well, as far as catching six shinies can be super easy :pink_laugh:), so definitely use this as an opportunity if you need to add to your Yearly Quest team totals! {:3}

To complete the Fall Seasonal Quest!!! (yeah, the three exclamation points are part of the Quest name! :pink_tongue:), you must capture six shinies of the following types:
  • Dark
  • Ghost ^^
  • Psychic
  • Flying
  • Bug (Bugs are scary! :littleo: )
  • Fairy

You can catch up to two of each type, meaning that your final team must contain at least three different types. Your team counts for two teams (!!) if you catch one Pokemon from each of the six aforementioned types. The contest lasts until December 1st, 2016, at 12:03 AM.

Good luck and have fun! :)

Spoiler:
14528 Frillish
3000 Route 110 encounters

So I wasn't able to get Frillish by the end of the summer, but I put in a good effort! I managed to rack up about 11700 encounters over 20 days, which I'm pretty happy with. I'll be back at it next summer and I'm sure I'll find that elusive shiny Frillish then! :pink_nod:

I've now returned my focus to my Central Hoenn hunt! Anyone want to place bets on where I'll find my next shiny? I'm roaming around Route 110, Fiery Path, Jagged Pass, and the Sandstorm!

Spoiler:
I don't think I've posted these yet. WHY HAVEN'T I POSTED ANY OF THESE YET? They were all full-odds encounters -- that's the best kind!

1.) First up is probably the rarest Pokémon I've ever had a full-odds encounter with. I was doing a WonderLocke in X and had just gotten past Victory Road when I figured I should evolve my Sliggoo before taking on the E4. I found a rainy route, stepped into the grass... BAM! The first thing that pops up is a silver Eevee! *shock*

I had been telling myself for a while that I would evolve my next Shiny Eevee into Flareon, so that's what I did. (My other Shiny Eevee were MM'd [Glaceon and Vaporeon] or from the Friend Safari [Umbreon and Leafeon].) I named him Chipotle (that's sounded-out like "chip + oat + lay" for those who can't pronounce it). :3

2.) After clearing that, I restarted HeartGold again. Found a Shiny Pidgey in the grass right outside the eastern National Park gate. Funny thing is that I found a Shiny Pidgey in the exact same patch in the original Silver Version that got wiped-out when my internal battery dried up. Same gender, too (female). Reclaimed Shiny!
Although I could've used her as a Mega Pidgeot, I decided to only evolve her by one stage because I think Pidgeotto looks cooler than Pidgeot. I named her Imalia.

3.) I was on a roll resetting games for Shinies, so I did it again with Black Version. I didn't find anything during the initial play-through, but I found something nice when looking for the Seven Sages in the post-game: a Shiny Chimecho at the Abundant Shrine! I named him Calem.

4.) Time to reset Platinum! I absolutely refused to use Fly in this play-through and risk passing up a potential Shiny. My stubbornness paid off when a Shiny Marill popped up!
His name is Dylan. I'm pretty sure I won't evolve him, but I might give in eventually. I don't dislike Azumarill, but Marill is a little cuter and more nostalgic. I remember having a Marill backpack and lunch box way back in 4th Grade.

5.) LeafGreen. I didn't find anything during the initial play-through, but I kept running around the region desperately trying to find something before I started having Shiny withdrawals. Finally found a Shiny Caterpie in Viridian Forest. My grandpa gave me a really weird look when I screamed "Whoo! Shiny Caterpie!" ._.
Butterfree was pretty high on my wishlist at the time -- Lucky! Not so lucky was the fact that she had an Attack-boosting Nature, but I still treasure her. Her name is Clover. I think I'll keep her in the Gen. III games where Bug- and Flying-Type attacks were always Physical.

6.) And lastly, Ruby. Again, nothing during my initial play-through. However, on my way to Pacifidlog Town during the post-game, Shiny Tentacool! I named him Roger (as in "Jelly Roger," get it?) and evolved him into Tentacruel. He's currently hanging out with Clover in LeafGreen where I'm hoping to stumble across another Shiny by the time I get him to Lv100.

- - -

I also SR'd a Shiny Omanyte (Seth) in AlphaSapphire, but it's not full-odds since I had the Shiny Charm. Also chained a Shiny Volbeat (Ethan) in Pearl.
I totally agree with Superstrength - those are really fantastic stories!!! Awesome shinies, awesome nicknames, and awesome adventures!

A little while ago I managed to breed a shiny timid froakie with torrent and starts in everything but special attack
Sweet, huge congrats!! I tried for a really long time to get a shiny Froakie, but I still haven't been able to get one yet! Double congrats for getting one that's managed to elude me, haha! {XD}

Found my third shiny Clamperl which I will evolve into Huntail. While I was fishing for Carvanha or Sharpedo to get a Deep Sea Tooth, I found a shiny Feebas.
Caught a shiny Krabby in a friend safari.
Nice, congrats on those shinies! Are you thinking about making a Water team for the Yearly Quest?

Haha! Thanks for such a warm welcome! It is a pleasure to be here and I enjoy seeing the success of the members of this group. I guess I will give a short update on some shiny activities.

Current Hunts:
- Shiny Heatran (Soft Reset)
- Shiny Surskit (Masuda Method)

Pokemon Y:
- Shiny Geodude

Well, I was using the Masuda method to breed the shiny Surskit when I thought I would take a quick break on hordes. I didn't use any particular Pokemon and only had the Flame Body Talonflame in my party with something that can summon hordes (Shiny Victreebel). I found this shiny Geodude in under 20 encounters yet the other Geodude's weakened it with Magnitude and it was eventually killed by my flame body... Man when abilities decide to work!! The tragic moment happened on my birthday and will be uploaded on YouTube soon.

Pokemon Alpha Sapphire:
- Shiny Latios

This minty fresh Pokemon appeared to me on a Friday afternoon after my final exams were over. It is a great way to start my weekend and to end my exams. This Pokemon took 9004 runaway's to finally capture in its shiny form. I also completed 108 soft resets amongst the runaway's but they didn't come in use to find the shiny. This video is almost ready for YouTube also. With this Pokemon FINALLY obtained I hope to finish my soft resetting on Heatran before concurring the elite four.

For anyone who is looking for shinies without the shiny charm, don't give up! It is possible to to and is so worth it to say you found them with full odds. Sometimes it can be a pain but you forget it all when you see your Pokemon gleam with the sparkles and that altered spectrum.

Good Luck everyone and thank you again for accepting me in this group!

Sweet, huge congrats on getting...*counts*...ten shinies during your very first week in the club! Your fantastic entrance continues, "lol." And I'd be totally thrilled about getting two shinies at the same time!!!! That's amazing!!! Do you know what the odds of that happening are!???!?!?!?!?

Spoiler:
That wasn't a rhetorical question...these really are the odds! :pink_tongue:

Spoiler:
2097152 to 1

That's a probability of less than 1 in 2 million!!! ^^

I found a shiny Roselia today via Dex Nav, it was about 30 encounters.

...

Edit: 9/15 I'm not sure how chaining works via Dex Nav, if a chain continues if you turn the 3ds off. I did about 40 dex nav's for Illumise and turned the 3ds off. Then later on started again and found a shiny Illumise on the first encounter.
Just found my first shiny from a horde in Omega Ruby. I did 27 hordes on Mt.Pyre and found a shiny Meditite. The search level was 64.

I was actually watching a recording of a stream on Twitch where at the same time the guy found a shiny Meditite in a horde I found one in real life.
Today while doing some chain fishing I got another shiny Basculin at a chain of 281.
I found a shiny Meditite in Friend Safari today at 294 encounters. I evolved it into Medicham.

My last shiny was actually Meditite in a full odds horde in Omega Ruby.

Both are female.

This is actually my first FS shiny since Petilil.
Been looking for shiny Breloom and Shroomish recently, hit 500 Friend Safari encounters and 400 Dex Nav encounters but no luck.

Congrats on the continued shiny success, Maserati!! You're really making a run at the title "Greatest Shiny Hunter of Our Time"!! {XD}

I love how that egg was hatched so long after it was made. I've definitely done stuff like that in my games, especially when I switch over to different games to hunt for a while and totally forget about my other ones, "lol!"

Holiday Shinies:
While I was on a holiday in QLD, I spent the whole day travelling up shiny hunting and this is the outcome.

- Marowak
I was looking in a ground safari where I hadn't found a shiny out of the three available and this was the Pokemon I managed to encounter after 251 encounters.

- Basculin
I decided to get a dratini for the living dex, I actually wanted to get a shiny one after I found one of them as - who couldn't resist a pink Dratini? So I stayed there and fished until I beat my fish chaining record. On a chain of 17 I got the shiny Basculin.

- Basculin
Continuing from the chain on 17, I remained here until 150 where I found another shiny Basculin. I then decided that I will take a break from this hunt as I will just get more fish.

- Whismur
I went back to hording as I actually want a shiny Zubat, most people don't but I got the Axew when I tried for it before and this time I got a Whismur. I just want the bat!!

- Munna
On Pokemon X, I stayed on the friend safari where I obtained this shiny Munna after a whole day of hunting for it previously.

- Wingull
I went to horde for another bird I didn't have, Wingull. This was going to be an entry for the competition but I will find one of each type instead of double ups.

- Fletchling
Speaking of birds I didn't have. This is a bird I have enough of. I was looking to chain a Caterpie as I have been for a year and when I was looking to begin the chain, I get this shiny Fletchling.. I wanted Caterpie...

- Foongus
After finding the shiny Fletchling I realized it reset my odds again so I went to pick them up with hordes again, maybe a shiny Murkrow would be nice? Nope I get Foongus!

Back to Back Shinies (On one game this time)
I went back to searching for the shiny Dratini and after 50 encounters I got a shiny Poliwhirl. I was rendering videos so I didn't record it but when I continued the next fish - right after, It was a shiny Basculin. I didn't get Dratini -.-

I am typing this as I am home from my holiday and I have almost completed the Fall Quest. Just looking for a Ghost type. All have been live encounters so I have proof of each one I obtain. I learn't how to chain out of this competition so I couldn't be more than happy with the progression. Good luck to everyone and I hope you all enjoy your shiny hunts!

I tried Poke Radar today. My longest chain was 23 for a Caterpie.

I did about 5 chains after that but they all lasted about 6. They all broke either by me resetting in an edge grass, running into a Pokémon in edge grass or running into the wrong Pokémon, as well as running into dead grass I didn't see.

There was a couple times where I ran into an edge patch that hadn't been on screen when shaking and had the target Pokémon in them and didn't break the chain. I know there's a 37% chance of an edge grass breaking the chain even if it contains the target Pokémon. Though I didn't know grass can shake off camera, that kind of sucks.

I ended with a 22 chain for Weedle. The Weedle chain actually included fast music at one point, but I didn't know anything about it and I was on a chain of 7 or 8 so I thought fast music only helped if you were on a chain of 40. I instead went into a couple shaking grass that were good but after awhile the music ended. I don't know if I could've just keep resetting the radar no matter what chain I was on.
And a shiny patch might have appeared.

Anyways after the Weedle chain broke I gave up and decided to Dexnav and Friend Safari race for shiny Pikachu, I got it via Dex Nav at 83 encounters. It had a search level of about 160 when I started.

After a somewhat sizable Shiny Drought I have obtained two Shinys in two days:

Shiny Male Wingull - Looking for Shiny Slowpoke, got a Shiny Wingull instead...my 3rd one.

Shiny Mime Jr (Mimey) - Found in Reflection Cave after about an hour and a half of Hoard Hunting. It was at the right end of the Hoard and was caught in a Premier Ball. He has a Calm Nature and the Filter Ability. He also has three Perfect IVs (Atk, SpAtk, SpDef) and is only the second Shiny Baby Pokemon I have caught.

I like the colour scheme here as for some reason it reminds me of fruit flavoured ice cream. Shiny Mr Mime is Green which suits a male and due to his solid stats I will train him up. My newest Shiny is named after Delia's Mr Mime in the Anime.

I have found a couple more Shinys:

Shiny Male Hoppip - Found in a Horde in X. Gentle Nature. This is my third Shiny Hoppip but it is incredibly cute so I will keep it in its unevolved form.

Shiny Male Vulpix - Found on a Mirage Island in Alpha Sapphire. It had a search level of 221 and on a chain of only 20. It has a Calm Nature, Max IVs in Defence and its Hidden Ability Drought. This Shiny is very pleasing as it is the first Shiny I have found in Alpha Sapphire for some time and the Yellow Shiny form of Vulpix surprised me. He took 7 Ultra Balls to catch.

He is now a Shiny Ninetales and I really like the elegance of Ninetales Shiny Colour Scheme. The light blue complements the silvery white well. Ninetales is my favourite Fire Pokemon and I am delighted to obtain a Shiny one. :D

Shiny Wingull is the new Lake of Rage Shiny Gyardos. Everyone seems to have one. Pelipper is a nice Shiny admittedly. Mine is called Greenwing.

I put one of my spare Shiny Wingull's on the GTS asking for a Kyogre. Someone sent me an (Almost Certainly Cloned) Shiny Purple Kyogre. :0

Not really much of a shiny hunter but I've managed three shinies on my Pokémon X so far.

Got a shiny Ralts in a wonder trade
Caught a shiny Murkrow in a horde while I was EV training
Hatched a shiny Makuhita

Really excited about the shiny Makuhita which is now a Hariyama. One of my favorite shinies. I think my next shiny I'm gonna hatch for will be for Nidoqueen. Another awesome shiny.

Shiny Female Clefairy (Kourtney) - I caught this Pokemon in a Fairy Type Friend Safari in my X game. (Stephanie)

My latest Shiny is Level 30, with a Hardy Nature, Hidden Ability Friend Guard and Max IVs in Special Defense and Speed. The Shiny Form of Clefairy has Green ear tips which makes it instantly recognisable from its normal colouration. The lighter pink of the Shiny is also very nice. I plan to use a Moon Stone to evolve her into Clefable. I like the Clefairy line a lot and it is my favourite Fairy type after the Gardevoir line.

I have been Friend Safari Shiny Hunting a lot recently as I find it is the least intensive type of hunting and you can do other things such as watching television. Guess what I was watching when I found Shiny Clefairy. :)

Next Hunt - Chain Fishing in Alpha Sapphire for Shiny Carvanha.
