I'm happy to say that with the help of Marriland, I've grown attached to both the wild battle and trainer battle themes. I told you I just have to have time for things to grow on me. :P

In my opinion, HS/SS ruined the Johto region's music. It's too corny and sound's stupid. Just my thoughts though.

The more i play, the more I like the soundtrack. I still like the Kanto Gym Leader the best, though my old favorite (G/S/C) was the Lance/Red Battle Theme. That was epic.

Luckily this isn't the case as I found out on Sunday, I believe - a radio program on Sundays plays old GSC music. And one of the tunes that came up was the title screen theme. =D So it appears that if you're rather lucky, you may happen upon those tunes as well.

Nice. I'd like to hear that. Although i don't really count it as missing, since the new title music is similar to crystal's which was a shortened version of G/S's title, if it sounds closer that'd be cool. New music is great and all, but it'd be nice to hear the originals once in a while.

Anyone buying the OST that's gonna come out later this month?
It seems awesome: comes with both original GS and HGSS music.

I've heard the Frontier Brain music is a tad different from the one in Platinum, but I can't hear the difference :/

Many of the music really shocked me.

My favorite song in the original GSC was Goldenrod City, which I thought was a formal song. When I was imagining it being remade, I imagined bells, chimes, trumpets, and maybe some woodwinds playing the harmony. I was completelyshocked when they turned it into a fusion of Goldenrod and Heart&Soul (which is another melody). At first, I was all mad, but then it grew on to me and I found out that it wasn't as bad as it seemed. Now it sounds like a happy and jumpy upbeat song. But I still like the original one.

My second favorite was the S.S. Anne music. It was amazing! I never really liked music that played while you the water, but this was great! I never really payed attention to the song in the original GSC, but WOW!

My third favorite, and by far the catchiest is Viridian Forest. What I thought was gonna be a creepy song, turned out so relaxing and happy. I've heard the original composition in GSC, but those were just minor 8-bit beeps. Now, it is all cute and sweet arrangement! I love it! I hum it most of the time now, and when people ask me what I'm humming, I don't want them to be as happy is I am so I just reply with, "Penny Lane".

Lastly, I wanna say that the songs in GSC are so wonderful. They really have turned everything around, though some are untouched, others were represented with original sounds never before heard of. I can't wait for the release in America!

They really surprised with how good the music in this game sounded, really it makes you wonder if it's even on the same platform that d/p was(no offense but I think the d/p soundtrack was pretty generic). also every time someone says "the original's better" I am going to slaughter a puppy.

That's what you get with remakes.

The unhappy fool who will make the "TL;DR ORIGNAL IS BETTER" comment everywhere just to prove the point that he/she is unable to move on from the past.

Sure I think some of the older music was a little better than some of the new ones, but that's because of the tune and not simply because "LOL, IT'S THE ORIGINALS".
The new soundtrack is amazing, anyway.

Hiroshi, could I please request a rip for the Intro/Battle Music of Ho-Oh and Lugia, as well as the Johto Gym Leader music? The complete music rip archive won't open properly for me.. =\ I really need those tracks badly for a video I have been intending to make with them.

What exactly is the link in the first post?
It's like 800+MB, so I want to know what it is before I download.
Is it the actual CD soundtrack (doubtful)? Or something else?

I think I'll wait for a CD rip. GS+HG/SS music altogether = fantastic.

I think GSC had my favorite music anyway. I've been YouTubin this a lot, too. :D

It is the soundtrack. There's nearly 300 tunes in there (including the GSC music via the GB Player), after all, hence the size. XD

Ah dang dang dang dang... Dang, I'm NEVER gonna be able to fill this post with all my feelings for the music in this game. I've been flying around at YouTube for weeks and I just want more and more and... (I really have got to stop drinking coffee in the evening :\) Well AAARRGGHHHHH, No-one who weren't there in the beginning will EVER understand the love of these fantastic remakes of the old 8-bit ones!

OK, let's get serious...

My number one fav track in GS was Dark cave/Ice cave. It was just like "Sweeeet, dark base and catchy progress!" I heard the new one recently and... Well, actually, it felt kinda failed at the first glance. Anyone who have heard the theme probably recognize this feeling. They made it more like dip-drops, bipping and bopping between the rocks creating an ...awesome feeling of mystic and... Caveness? Yeah, that's right, can't get enough of it now ^^'

Battle-music (all of them): Me LOVEEEEEE. No more to say about that, I just sit here with Lugias new theme in my ears all the time... "I'm aggressive and mysterious, and you just made me pissed :cer_pissed:..." That is what that song says. Seriously.

I can't say enough of this. I think I'll just jump into my bed and die or something. So. Awesome. Ahhhhhh...

So far, I'm not particularly fond of any of the remixes. My least favorite is definitely Goldenrod City. My best friend agrees with me, it does not fit the city at all.

New Bark Town is pretty bad as well, it sounds just like something out of D/P/Pt.

It's going to take a lot of time for me to get used to this soundtrack.
Man, if you had a different user name, I could almost swear you were my brother. XD I really have to agree. I'm really unsatisfied with the remixes. It takes me several moments to realize what song I'm listening to. The intros are really superfluous as well as most of the rest of the song. Goldenrod was almost unrecognizable to me. The bike music was pretty close to the original, but you barely tell that it's a remix of Goldenrod.

I think the Violet City/Olivine Theme bothered me the most. It wasn't a terrible remix, but it had too long of a pause between the intro and the rest of the song. It also sounded like it was dragging horribly or completely off beat. Being a band person, that killed me a little bit inside.

I the rival music isn't half bad. I'm not listening to the rest of the music because I want to hear the rest of it when I get the actual game.

Just awesome that they made a remix from route 101! The R/S/E songs always were my favourite.

I never realized it had been so much until now. Nearly 300 tunes on the soundtrack is a lot, I mean including the original music thanks to the GB Player was a great additional feature and made it all the better. Regardless, definitely great remixes this time around, it brings all feeling into the gameplay for sure. Like mentioned by Luke Sr. Ice Cave gives you the chills, but the battle music in the Frontier brings in the heat of the battle.

Just 3 words to say: OH MY GOD!!! I didn't think the music would be that awsome... until I heard the Ecruteak City theme. Some of the music wasn't as good as I'd expected like the Pallet Town theme, but I still enjoy them.
I love the beginning of Cherrygrove, Ecruteak, Azalea. :D
For the Lavender Town... I got goosebumps when I first heard it, but later I loved it

Anyway... Do anybody here play HG/SS on Desmume emulator? You can rip the music very easily with the WAV Record option, but the file size is a bit too high (1411kbps) However, it sounds exactly the same as if it were in the game :), sometimes even better quality.
