So this is a question for those of us that are more rock orientated and generally a listener to large bands. Can you tell by the guitar riffs, solos, vocals, and just the guitar style in general who the band playing is? I personally having listened to a lot of the large 70s rock and 80s NWOBHM and heavy metal music can definitely tell apart bands.

Vocals are easy. It's the instrumentals that takes skill. I can recognize a few guitarists who have distinct styles like Stevie Ray Vaughan, Chuck Berry, Jimmy Page, and (for some reason) The Edge from U2. Bass is just too hard in my opinion and drums are also pretty difficult, though I can pick out Keith Moon from time to time.
