MSN Problem

I get this problem everywhere. everytime i sign in, i get a message saying that the windows live communications platform has stopped working

If I leave this message opened, i can still use msn.
I looked through the web and most of the soloutions don't make sense.
One soloution however worked, but when i restarted my PC, messenger was retard and wouldnt show my contacts and ppl were messaging and i coulnd see the chat window. so i uninstalled reinstalled messenger and i still get the above problem... any help super awesome computer dudes?

I had this problem before.
Do you have Norton 360?

bad user, very bad user. Change to a better working anti-virus, MSN might like you enough to work if you do.





And run a registry cleaner

Well I just switched to AVG... I had avira before and that message popped up. Now with AVG though I'm not even able to chat or anything with that message.

how do you do that? Cause I've been trying to figure this out for about 9 hours... I am getting VERY ANNOYED

Try running CCleaner.
It does wonders.

Well it did clean up a lot of things, but the problem still persists.

Are you using a Sony VAIO computer? Also, you may want to look into Pidgin, as it can be set up to use the same protocol as MSN.
VNs are superior to anime, don't @ me

thanks it works... but not as good as msn :( I'll PM the rest of my system info to you when you reply or if you can help

EDIT: I found out the problem. Service Pack 2 update failed >.< Now that I reinstalled it, MSN now works! ^-^
