Okay... So, I wanted to make a challenge, but as I thought about MONOspecies, I thought that it would be too easy, and boring. So, I decided to make a DUO species challenge. Simple, eh? =)

RULES:
-You must not change Pokémon in the middle of the challenge
-You must not cheat nor hack
-You must update your progress
-I recommend using Emerald, as you can make your own double battles and there is generally more double battles than in the other games.
-For extra challenge, you could use same types for the both Pokémon
-You must have your both Pokémon before the third gym
-You can use your starter for this challenge
-You can have up to 4 HM slaves
-The challenge ends as you beat the E4 (RS), as you catch Mewtwo (FRLG) or when you beat Steven (Emerald)
-No legends!
-I can add more rules as problems come up
-Only trade for items (read: Evolutionary stones for RSE) and evolution!
-Have fun!

HallwayKid added, but you cant use Roselia in Emerald, as it is not in that game... However, they are in R&S.
Therapistdt declined, because you cant get Teddiursa before 3rd gym in any of 3rd gen game.

Dang, the source I was looking at totally led me wrong. Change Roselia to Bellosom.

The new list looks pretty good, heres an update from me:

-Started, picked mudkip, beat May, got wally to catch his ralts.
-Caught the two taillows I plan to use (female & mild, male & bold)
-Proceeded through the previously 3 skipped trainers, then through petalburg woods to rustboro
-Defeated the trainers on route 116 and in Roxanne's gym
-Got slammed by roxanne, am now grinding

Taillow, Male, Bold - Level 16
Wing Attack, Focus Energy, Growl, Quick Attack

Taillow, Female, Mild - Level 16
(As above)

Vuallum, do you really want to have like 3 Swellows and three Hariyama? Wouldn't it get boring?
Fire Wolf, you have made some nice progress. Second gym should be pretty easy for you.
I finally decided, what my pokémon are going to be: Mightyena and Crobat!

Uh, I said 2 taillows up there, thus 2 hariyamas also, besides I'm not gunna even try 1 taillow 1 hariyama 1 swellow 1 makuhita, just losing stats that I'll desperately need.

Besides, is it not a duospecies challenge? I used 4 Sceptiles in a monospecies challenge I did a long time ago.

I didn't mean to be rude... I just thought it would get boring to have 2 of the same species in your team.
And what I'm doing is that I only use one Blaziken and one Mightyena.
I didn't mean to accuse you of anything.
You can do that way if you want.

Well I guess I should update. Haven't done much on this yet though.

- Picked Treeko for starter
- Caught a female Marill just past Petalburg Town
- Beat Roxanne with level 15 Marill
- Marill evolved shortly after the gym
- Humiliated Aqua Grunt with Azumarill
- Currently training to take down Brawly

Current Pokemon

Female Azumarill - Lv 20

Male Treeko - Lv 11 (HM slave)

I'll do Abra and Nidoran in LG, before i can get Nidoran i'll use Bulbasaur.

Started, got Bulbasaur, beat Rival, beat Brock, caught a lot of Nidorans (all female btw, i thought there are like in R/B both in both versions) and finally got a neutral one (Nidoqueen will be some kind of bulky mixed sweeper, or to say it in german "eine eierlegende wollmilchsau", i'm sorry didnt find a real translation for that, and word-for-word-translations usually fail...), did the trainers i evaded before and had an epic battle against a Metapod when i ran out of scratches.

Nidoran is Lv. 15 now, and i'm seeing problems in catching Abra, it will be annoying as hell.
