I don't know where this thread should go and I haven't seen a thread like this so I thought to create one. ^_^

So do you care to read people's Biographies? Most of the members here never even bother to write things in their bios because they think that no one ever reads them. I do. Whoever I visit, I always read their bios. I really like to read them. But I come upon many bios like: 'Who cares?' or 'Are you gonna read this?' or something like that.

So my question is, do you really give importance to Bios?

(I'm sorry if there's a thread like this! I really didn't knew if there was any. :()

I usually don't, and I just put a brief blurb in mine about world domination and replacing Pokemon Centers with Quality Inns in my own, so I don't even put much effort into my own XD

Okay...I understand.
But you'll only visit someone if either: You wanna talk to that person or you just wanted to take a look at the profile of the person.
And if you are engaging yourself in any of these two then what harm does it make to know a little more about that person? I understand that some people don't like reading them coz its their preference and their opinion, but I really don't think that there's anything wrong if you know anybody better... O_o

I rarely visit a user's biography and if I do it is only because of interest or boredom. Like said, not many put anything read worthy that may let you learn more about the user. I would normally come upon reading it if it is one I might be interested in knowing or if it is my own friend I met here. Other than this, biographies isn't something I really look into. I can say I go more to one's Statisitcs than their About Me.

I like reading the Bios because I like knowing the other members, whether it be someone I know or not. However, I don't like how a lot of them are generic and the same- "lulz, who cares?" and "why you want to know?" I admit, I'm not that much known nor make the most awesome posts in the world, but I put a bit of effort in my bio. I guess I have a few things to say about myself. XD

I won't write my own bio because I have trouble writing it, everytime I have attempted to write one I didn't like how it ended up and deleted it. I don't bother reading a bio if I don't know the person, but if someone on my friends list has written a bio then I will read it.

I love reading people's bios.
I like to read what people think about themselves. There are some really interesting bios out there.

I'm sometimes a little disappointed when someone's bio is like 'No-one reads these anyway' .. because well, I DO. ;3

I don't care about biographies like I care about my friends, but I can be found reading them late at night when there's nothing better to do. Someone once said something about the blogs on PC, and it went like this, 'some are funny, some are interesting, some are serious, some are stupid, some aren't worth reading, some are,' the same saying can be applied to biographies. You're writing something that tens of thousands of members have the possibility of checking out for no real reason. So yeah, I don't particularly care about what people write in that textbox, but I'll read them from time to time.
'It's been a prevalent notion. Fallen sparks. Fragments of vessels broken at the Creation. And someday, somehow, before the end, a gathering back to home. A messenger from the Kingdom, arriving at the last moment. But I tell you there is no such message, no such home -- only the millions of last moments . . . nothing more. Our history is an aggregate of last moments.'

I used to not care much because nobody on PC way back then cared either and I simply had a short blurb that was something like "I was born, got kicked around by society, and wound up here", but I recently changed it at the request of somebody who wanted me to have a proper bio section on my profile. XD

In actuality, the creativity some people put into it nowadays is pretty entertaining. :P

Why, the Basic Input/Output System is what makes you computer boot! Of course I care--

WAIT. YOU MEAN BIOGRAPHIES. Whoops.

I usually don't visit people's userpage, so I usually don't read their biographies.

I almost never pay attention to that part of a profile. I think my mind just went ahead and blocked that tab from my conscious view, as I've only read biographies when either instructed by friends or in threads over in NU/W.

It's not like I dislike reading biographies; some of them can be pretty entertaining or creative. It's just the average member knows that a lot of members have a mindset like me, and will completely ignore that little tab on the profile. So, they don't create good ones, and I don't read them because of that, causing more people to join up without creating a good bio. Fun little loop there.

I know my biography is pretty uninspired. XD

I don't often care about my own, so I just put random crap there. As for reading other peoples? A few times. Depends on how long it is. lmao. :[[

I do make an effort to read people's biographies, if they put an effort into it themselves. Usually, I'd read ones that are to-the-point and don't have long-winded tales of random stuff that I really don't care about. Some of the information may help me to better understand a person if I want to talk to him/her.
