Many of you may know, in Australia on a ten year reunion show of Hey Hey It's Saturday (great to have it back on, even if only for two reunion shows), there was a skit in a segment called Red Faces. Red Faces is basically just people who are really bad at doing things or doing pointless things and they get judged by a panel of three, sort of like a talent show or something, but the groups involved aren't trying to get anywhere, it's just people having a laugh and getting on television. Anyway, one of the groups that did Red Faces involved a group of people impersonating the Jackson Five and Michael Jackson. Now, there's been a lot of controversy over this, with people calling it racist, because the Jackson Five all have their faces painted black to properly impersonate them. Below is the video:

Now, one of the guests on the show, Harry Connick Jr, found it offensive and a lot of people in America and some Australians are finding it racist. What's your opinion on the sketch?

My personal opinion that this was all done in good humour, and the guys obviously didn't mean to offend anyone. Nor do I think it should be that offensive in the first place, they're impersonating the Jackson Five, just because they paint themselves black in order to look like the Jackson Five doesn't mean they're getting at doing anything other than looking the part. I don't see how people could be offended at something that was just done for good fun.
