If anyone here lives in a lesser known country (i.e. not the US, UK or Aussie), share some of the music from your country. Doesn't have to be your country's traditional music, it could just be a big band from the place you live. I'll kick things off with the guys from New Zealand, Shihad.
(This is my other account because I couldn't post with my old one for some reason, so just take the underscores out of the link)

Here in Brazil nowadays there's the infamous CSS (cansei de ser sexy - I'm tired of being sexy). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hb0d8cst3J0
I'm also very into Bonde do Rolê now (they don't mean business... but are fun as hell XD).
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kgb6FxuaPQA
And I'm also into choro, bossa and samba.
This is a song by Ernesto Nazareth (wich I can play on the guitar as well ), not many people know choro.

From New Zealand as well, from my hometown in fact, allow me to introduce 48 May and Big Shock. An awesome song I haven't heard for far too long. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FNfRsTxcvn0

I'm going to let that one go as I do not want to start a political argument. But know that I am a bit irked. Anyway one of the greatest songs of my country:

Adding to the poster from Brasil, here's more music from Brasil:

NX Zero. I'm not personally much of a fan, but I know a good amount of people here would love this. I guess it's comparable to Good Charlotte and the likes. One song in particular is very catchy, "Cartas Pra Você". Again, they aren't my style of music, but this song got ingrained in my head haha.

NX Zero - Cartas Pra Você

Chico Buarque. Amazing. My favorite bossa nova (sort of an offshoot of jazz from around the 60s) artist.

Chico Buarque - Vai Passar

Sergio Mendes. Almost all of you should be familiar with his hit song "Mas Que Nada", but a different version (Black Eyes Peas). The original was my favorite song growing up.

Sergio Mendes & Brasil 66 - Mas Que Nada

Tunjukkan Cintamu (translation: Show Your Love) - RAN featuring Shila

Salam Bagi Sahabat (Greetings to a Best Friend) - Glenn Fredly featuring Albert

Some old song back in 1990s. I think..

Kala Cinta Menggoda (I don't know the appropriate translation for this one. >_> But it's related with love anyways~) - Chrisye

General pop with some Javanese music influences.

Since Indonesian is practically 90% or more Malay, I understand these! XD
Yay for SouthEast Asian Countries, the somewhat lesser known. Apart from S'pore. *sigh*

Here's some Malaysian music by a generally known artist.

Hujan - Pagi yang Gelap [Translation: A Dark Morning]
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9d1w3L2oPPg

Here's one by Dato' Siti Nurhaliza who sang at Albert Hall, London. She's a famous Malaysian artist that was conferred the honorary title Dato', equivalent to Sir in England.

Dato' Siti Nurhaliza - Cindai [Translation: The word 'Cindai', refers to a type of Fabric or in extreme cases a 'Pontianak'(Malay equivalent to a Banshee or Vampire)]
