Ooh, before I forget, I had an idea for the Elite Four. Wouldn't it be cool if before you enter each room, you had to complete a Ruins-of-Alph-style puzzle? It adds something different and fun to the Elite Four, I think. The puzzle could be of the next member's signature Pokemon, or perhaps something thematically linked to their type. There wouldn't be one before the champion though, to add a sense of mystery.

What do you think, Maci?

This is all the information that you guys will be needing for the Elite Four. I will be taking suggestions on things I could add to the template, so feel free to suggest anything. This post will also answer the questions you have posed in the last few hours.

First things first, the Elite 4 Template. Everything listed here is a requirement.
====================================================================
Map of Room (Copy + Paste Picture into text)

The Azure Frontier [R1] *
Elite 4 (1, 2,3,4)
Type 1 / Type 2 (You only need one type but you can have two.)

Puzzle (Can be a challenging puzzle, similar to a Gym Puzzle but without trainers, or as Charmageddon suggested, you can do a Ruin of Alphish type puzzle. I don't want to restrict your creativity here, just There CAN be wild pokemon though.)

Elite Four [Name]

Opening Speech

Team (Round one MUST have 5 pokemon, no more & no less.) (Competitive Movesets & Pictures MUST be used in the team. For info on where to find these, look at the end of the post.)

2

Team Strategy (The Elite 4's team must be competetive and therfore requires strategy. Write a short paragraph here about your team: What playstyle is it? Does it utilize weather? Etc.)

Closing Speech:

Final Words:

The Azure Frontier [R2] *
Elite 4 (1, 2,3,4)
Type 1 / Type 2 (You only need one type but you can have two.)

Elite Four [Name]

Closing Speech:

Final Words:

Appendix (This is where any extra information goes)
  • Wild Pokemon Data (if there is any.
  • Comments on what you tried to achieve
  • And anything else =)
The appendix is the only part that is not required.

*The Azure Frontier is what I have decided to call the League. There is the Indigo Plateau in R/B/Y, and now in my hack, it will be called the Azure Frontier.

====================================================================
Where to Find Information
====================================================================
I require pictures & compitetive movesets in the Elite 4. Any post that lacks either of these will not be counted. Here is where you can find pictures:

Sprites

www.pokemonelite2000.com/sprites.html - This is the site I use for most pictures: you can get them quite fast.

http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Main_Page - Bulbapedia is great for a wide variety of things. You also get access to HG/SS on this site, which you cannot do on the first site.

Competitive Movesets

www.smogon.com - Easy, quick access to competetive movesets. Search the pokemon's name and look for a movest that fits the team.

www.serebii.com - If the pokemon has been featured under Pokemon of the Day, you can get competetive movesets about them.

Obviously, there are also competitive movesets to be found on Pokecommunity.

NOTE: I am not advertising these sites, I am providing links to them as they provide information that is relevant to what I am asking of people during the Elite 4 rounds.

ALSO, I would love to see people go beyond the slate if they can, do whatever you can think of. All of the gyms that were selected went above and beyond in some way, so think of a way you can.
==============================
Answering ALL The Questions
==============================
SkipShot + ooOpposite Day - I love the idea of a dual gym. Decide who is the leader and who is beat out, and we will be set =).

Charmageddon + mOOG - mOOG's Steel Gym isn't in the running due to the lack of pictures. If there had been pictures it would have immediately been put into the Poll, but pictures are a requirement and has been stated over and over again, so anything lacking pictures at this point was disqualified. mOOG's gym was great though, and so if he contributes to the E4 (WITH PICTURES) he is sure to make one of the polls!

Chamageddon - Puzzles most certainly will be a big part of this Elite 4; remember, this rom is going to be challenging! I already have my puzzle mapped and implemented into the game, so I assure you there will be a puzzle for the Champion as well.

IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS FOR THE DURATION OF THE ELITE 4 PERIOD, CHECK HERE. I WILL ALWAYS ANSWER THE QUESTIONS IN THIS POST.

I think I am gonna have to vote for SethMetal37's gym as I think it is the best. Although I feel like a major douche for voting for myself lol
Its sad when you sell all your pokemon games and then realize you still like it

Oh, there are going to be gym puzzles in the Elite Four? I'm gonna be blunt with you, I don't like it. Proper, massive gym puzzles overcomplicate things. I just meant a teeny little Ruins-of-Alph-style puzzle, just for a little fun. I know it's your hack and all, but I wouldn't want to play a hack that was too overcomplicated and drawn out.

Taken into account Charmageddon. I have changed it, look and see if you care for it now. I warn you, my puzzle, while not complicated, is certainly large, though I think you will approve of it when you see it.

Zeta Dimentio? You know, the guy that posted like what, 2 posts over you? :P

You know what? Last time I counted, me and Skippy had just as many votes going for us.. So perhaps it could be a pair of rival gyms? Like the situation in Saffron - ish? Does that sound like an idea?
The time I posted was...you know...during the 7th Gym event (Meaning so was his)...according to the time on the first post

Yah, that sounds like a plan! I think you should have the badge, after all, my leader said that she hadn't had any challengers for years, and that sounds rather strange for a Gym Leader, and to top it off, she is only the second best Gym Leader? Naaah. I think Bronson should be the official one.

As for the mini-plot, I have an idea. Poison-type attacks and Ice-type attacks have already their own personal secondary effects. So the reason why they are struggling, could simply be that they are in a "disagreement" about which secondary effect are the best? What if... both of the gym leaders were looking for the legendary pokemon Registeel? The reason for that would simply be that Registeel resists and hits super effective on Ice and is immune to Poison, so having it would be beneficial to both of the leaders. In other words, this could unlock the plot for the Regis.. And eventually the unsealing of Regigigas and DOOM to the world! (:

I totally love the plotline! It makes for a great idea. For gym leaders and whatnot, I'll go with whatever you decide on. I guess that I'll take the gym badge, as I can see where you're coming from with the gym leader's quote. One other thing... that could also cause for tensions between the two gym leaders and a tag battle ensuing... between Bronson and you/the rival and your leader versus the rival/you?

I'll get started on a full Elite 4 as soon as I can. I'm pulling from an old fanfic, so it will be an amazing submission to look for!

The expiration time was Midnight, EST starting the 25th, about 24 hours before you posted your gym, which would be on the 26th, in his time zone. Also, the 8th round was announced on Page 9, your gym was on Page 10. And I reposted mine, after realising that it wasn't in Round 8.

Also, now that the E4 signups are out, and it allows creativity as well... awesome. I'll make sure to get on them.

Skippy, I totally agree with your idea about a tag battle, where the player decides which side they will support. Great!
I guess I'll have to change some of Nathalie's dialogue, she can't be handing out the Hail badge if it doesn't exist. Any ideas for what pokemon could be given? I believe a choice between a Spheal or a Swinub would be the best, both are different pokemon that might easily benefit the player, one being a being of extreme offense, whilst the other one are sustained as potentially the best staller in the world (:

I know for sure that they should be rare Pokemon to get. I like your idea of going between offense and defensive styles, but Swinub is quite easy to capture. I think that giving out a Sneasel in place of Swinub would be a good idea, since Sneasel is much harder to find. Each Pokemon should have a special move with them that can't be obtained in any other way by the Pokemon to create more incentive to choose as well (like ExtremeSpeed Dratini in HG/SS and GSC). I'm pretty sure that can be implemented into the hack.

They should probably both be obtained at Level 30, so...

Spheal
Ice Body
Level 30

Ice Ball
Body Slam
Aurora Beam
Hydro Pump

or...

Sneasel
Level 30
Inner Focus

Agility
Fury Swipes
Icy Wind
Fire Punch

What do you think?

I did put pictures. ;_;
Now I'm sad. Sprites aren't that much of a pain to get, and I put the gym layout up before the entry period ended...

There are sprites now, and if it's an option, I'd enjoy entry, but even if not I promise I won't cut myself. =P. Expect me to make a bid for E4!

THE ELITE 4 IS OPEN!!

These rounds are probably the most anticipated of the whole event, and, in my oppinion, they are the most fun. Enjoy these rounds and be as creative as your little hearts desire =).

I have actually changed the level ranges slightly, here they are:

Elite 4 (2) - 76 - 82 [Round 2 = 94 - 101]
Elite 4 (3) - 79 - 84 [Round 2 = 96 - 103]
Elite 4 (4) - 81 - 86 [Round 2 = 99- 105]
Champion - 86- 93 [Round 2 = 106 - 112] (Yes, with my editor I can break 100 =])

Edit your gyms accordingly. Remember, you can use powerful Ubers in Round 2 (i.e. Dialga, Palkia, Giratina-O, Deoxys, etc.), though avoid the use of them until Round 2. In Round 2 remember 6 pokemon.

I can't wait to see these awesome Elite 4's!

As I have said, I will be gone most of the weekend. If you are an experienced member of this project, please critique everyone in my absence. I will still make the final decision.

Remember, you have 3 days for the first Round!

I see where you are coming from, but I think that a 120 BP 80% chance to hit doesn't really fit into the set.. However, following up the offense/defence theme, I think Slack Off or a variant of the move could easily fit on any set a defensive (and offensive) player could dream of.

Oh yea... forgot about the offesne/defense theme there. Oops.

Slack Off is a good idea, since Walrein doesn't have any reliable recovery outside of rest. We could also try Refresh.

And yes, Fire Punch Sneasel is WIN. :)

Uh, Maci?

Elite 4 (1) - 74 - 79 [Round 2 = 75 - 98]
75 to 98? Bit of a huge level gap here.
Elite 4 (2) - 76 - 82 [Round 2 = 87 - 101]
Same again.
Elite 4 (3) - 79 - 84 [Round 2 = 9 - 103]
I'm guessing you don't actually want a level 9 Pokemon in the Elite Four's line-up?
Elite 4 (4) - 81 - 86 [Round 2 = 96- 105]
Champion - 86- 93 [Round 2 = 104 - 112] (Yes, with my editor I can break 100 =])

Could you clarify this please?

Oops, there were some mistakes: 75 is a typo, I forgot to up that level by 12. However, the reason the level gaps are so large Round 2 is that you can make it any level set in between there, you can make it extremely difficult by keeping it on the higher end, or just moderately difficult by staying lower. I have more specific requirements for Round 1 because I need them to hit a certain level for the Champion and Rival battles to make any sense. The level 9 is an obvious typo as well.

I was in a bit of a rush when I wrote that (I had 5 minutes until I had to be at a class, and it was a 3ish minute walk.) so I didn't check over it. I'll update the range =).

This is my Elite 4 submission, Round 1.

The Azure Frontier [R1]
Elite 4 (1)
Type: Water

Puzzle

Spoiler:
It is a small maze with three switches hidden. As soon as the switches are pressed, a ‘guard dog’ attacks you. Defeat them all, and press the switches in this order. 1 is on, 2 is on, 3 is off. The order is Lapras, Slowking, and Wailord. And each time you press the switch, you have to fight one of the guardians.

Map:
Spoiler:

Map Key:

Light Blue: David
Green: Switch
Red: Door

Elite Four David: Round 1
Spoiler:

Appearance: David looks like he is about 17 years old with short, messy brown hair. He is wearing a blue vest with no shirt on underneath, with long blue pants which go down halfway covering his shoes. He is also carrying around a backpack.

Opening Speech: So you made it, eh? Welcome to the Azure Frontier. I am David, one of the most powerful trainers in the world. With my skills, I have made it to the Elite Four in record time. However, I decided to join them. You seem to be powerful to get past my maze, but… can you defeat me like you beat those Gym Leaders!?

Team:
Lv. 75 Gyarados (Item: Leftovers)
Nature: Adamant
Ability: Intimidate
Sex: Female
Moves: Dragon Dance, Waterfall, Ice Fang, Earthquake
EVs: 252 Atk/4 Def/252 Spd

Lv. 76 Kingdra (Item: Life Orb)
Nature: Adamant
Ability: Swift Swim
Sex: Male
Moves: Dragon Dance, Rain Dance, Outrage, Hydro Pump
EVs: 252 Atk/24 SpA/232 Spe

Lv. 77 Vaporeon (Item: Choice Specs)
Nature: Modest
Ability: Water Absorb
Sex: Female
Moves: Surf, Ice Beam, HP Electric, Hydro Pump
EVs: 188 Def/252 SpA/68 Spe

Lv. 77 Starmie (Item: Leftovers)
Nature: Timid
Ability: Natural Cure
Sex: Genderless
Moves: Rapid Spin, Surf, Thunderbolt, Recover
EVs: 136 HP/156 Def/216 Spe

Lv. 79 Empoleon (Item: Leftovers)
Nature: Calm
Ability: Torrent
Sex: Male
Moves: Surf, Grass Knot, Knock Off, Ice Beam
EVs: 252 HP/160 Def/92 SpD/4 Spe

Team Strategy: Each pokemon has their own style of play that use its moveset to its advantage. The following is the strategy of the Elite Four Member’s pokemon.

Gyarados: Gyarados utilizes the Offensive style moveset, obtained from Smogon. It always uses Dragon Dance first to power up, then it will attempt to take out your pokemon with it’s powerful moves, which are Waterfall, Ice Fang and Earthquake. With it’s high ATK, it is a threat.

Kingdra: Kingdra utilizes the Dragon Dance + 3 Attacks style moveset, with one variation. Like its predecessor, it always uses Dragon Dance first, so it can hit harder. Its Rain Dance is used to speed up Kingdra, who is stuck with being somewhat slow, and Outrage is used as a powerful physical attack. Hydro Pump is used as it’s most powerful attack and is used when there is a weaker opponent on the field, or if it is in trouble.

Vaporeon: Vaporeon uses the Choice Specs style moveset. Surf is its main offensive move, due to its power, and reliability. It also uses Ice Beam, and HP Electric to clear out opponents that are more resistant to Surf, and its final move, Hydro Pump, is it's most powerful attack to take down the opponent.

Starmie: Starmie uses the Rapid Spinner moveset. The Attack, Rapid Spin is used to get rid of Stealth Rock and Toxic Spikes, and its Surf is its primary attack. Thunderbolt is used as well, to take care of other Water and Flying Pokemon, as well as a general attack, and Recover is used in case it gets too hurt.

Empoleon: David’s starter, and his highest level pokemon, utilizes the Defensive Penguin moveset. Surf, being a staple for this team, is also on this pokemon, as its basic attack against opponents. However, it will also use Grass Knot as another common attack. Knock Off is used to knock off items that your pokemon may be holding. Ice Beam is another attack, used to attack Ground, Rock and Grass types.

Closing Speech:

Final Words: Well, I was beaten after all. Congratulations, but while I am a powerful trainer, I am also the weakest here. The others are much tougher, and will not hesitate to destroy you. Good luck, you’ll need it.

Strategy: The older members retain their strategies from before, but the newer ones have their own.

Kyogre: Being the only Uber on the team, is quite possibly the most powerful overall, despite not being the highest level. It utilizes the Choice Specs moveset to be as deadly as can be. Water Spout is used as it is a powerful Water attack, while Surf is also used as it is an alternative attack. Utilizing it’s Drizzle ability, it uses Thunder for powerful strikes, and Ice Beam is used to take down dragons, grass, and rock type pokemon. Also, thanks to its Drizzle ability, it will provide rain for the rest of the team to benefit from.

Its Draco Meteor is a powerful attack to simply tear through opponents, and Outrage is used as a powerful physical attack, as a replacement for Draco Meteor just incase it runs out of PP. Hydro Pump is used as it’s most powerful attack and is used when there is a weaker opponent on the field, or if it is in trouble.

Vaporeon: Vaporeon uses the Choice Specs style moveset. Surf is its main offensive move, due to its power, and reliability. It also uses Ice Beam, and HP Electric to clear out opponents that are more resistant to Surf, and its final move, Hydro Pump, is it's strongest attack, to finish off foes.

Suicune: Suicune utilizes the Sleep Talk moveset, in which, if it gets low in health or a status condition it uses rest, and it’s Sleep Talk allows it to continue attacking even after it’s asleep. Like most others, Surf is the primary attack, while HP Electric is used to take down others, and as another attack, alternate to Surf.

Closing Speech: Heh, so I was beaten yet again. I must really suck at this job.

Final Words: Heh, congratulations young trainer. You managed to beat me at my best. Not an easily accomplished feat. Proceed to the others, but be warned, they too are more powerful then before.

Alright... time for my Elite 4 submission!

The Azure Frontier: Round 1
Elite 4 Member #1: Elite Four Meagan
Grass Type

Puzzle Description: The player has to walk through a grass field to reach Meagan. However, in the grass field are unseen vines that can trip you and forcing you backwards a few steps. These vines do not reset, which means you to navigate around the vines to reach Meagan. At some points, a Gloom may occasionally pop out from a patch of grass and attack you with Sleep Powder. The Gloom cannot be battled, and will only appear once at each specified patch. This will put the first Pokemon in your party to sleep.

Puzzle Map: Attached to this post is the map of the puzzle. (Coming Soon!)

Meagan's Appearance: Meagan is a young woman, about twenty years old. She has long brown hair, and wears a pure green shirt and a bright red skirt that goes down to her ankles. She does not wear any shoes. She has a red rose and a blue rose pinned in her hair.

Elite Four Meagan

Opening Speech: Hello there, Trainer! You have come quite a long way to reach the Azure Frontier. I am Meagan, and I grew up around the grassy meadows where wild Grass-type Pokemon loved to play. The Pokemon in the meadow helped me to create my own style in battle with these Pokemon- surprise the opponent, immobilize them, and then blast them into oblivion! You will have a difficult time getting by me!

Pokemon:

(Natures and EVs will be in parentheses because I am not sure if you can implement them into the game or not.)

Roserade @ Focus Sash
Level 74- Natural Cure
(Timid Nature- 252 Spe/ 252 Spa/ 6 HP)

Sleep Powder
Sunny Day
Leaf Storm
Hidden Power Fire (if you can create that)/Weather Ball

Vileplume @ Heat Rock

Level 76- Chlorophyll
(Modest Nature- 252 Spa/ 252 Spe/ 4 HP)

Sunny Day
Solarbeam
Sleep Powder
Sludge Bomb

Shiftry @ Choice Specs
Chlorophyll- Level 77
(Timid Nature- 252 Spa/ 252 Spe/ 6 HP)

Leaf Storm
Dark Pulse
Extrasensory

Solarbeam

Tangrowth @ Life Orb
Chlorophyll- Level 78
(Adamant Nature- 252 Atk/ 252 Spe/ 6 HP)

Swords Dance
Power Whip
Earthquake
Rock Slide

Sceptile @ Expert Belt
Overgrow- Level 79
(Rash Nature- 252 Atk/ 80 Spa/ 176 Spe)

Leaf Storm
Earthquake
Focus Blast
Leaf Blade

Team Strategy: What Meagan prefers to do is have Roserade put the first Pokemon to sleep with Sleep Powder, then set up Sunny Day. Vileplume can also set up Sunny Day and Sleep Pokemon if Roserade goes down. When Sunny Day is up, Meagan sends in Shiftry and Tangrowth to wipe out the opposition with the powerful attacks from opposite sides of the attacking spectrum. Sceptile is the cleanup sweeper, only coming in if the entire team or Sunny Day is down. Sceptile then runs through teams with a powerful mixed sweeping set, which is nearly unstoppable when coupled with his 120 Base Speed.

Defeat Dialogue: My powerful strategy and battling style took a heavy loss at the sight of your team! I commend you for your amazing battling prowess!!

Closing Speech: You definitely worked very hard to make it this far. I can see that in the way that you and your Pokemon battle. I am honored to have had the honor to battle such a great Trainer. Please, go on to the next room and continue on your quest to conquer the Azure Frontier.

The Azure Frontier
Round 2
Elite 4 #1: Elite Four Meagan (Grass Type)

Opening Speech: Hello there... Hey, it's (name!) It's been quite a while since you and I have battled! After my defeat, I spent some time meditating in the lush meadows that I grew up in, and I developed a new tactic to battling. I have employed this style very successfully against challengers, and wish to test it against you. Let's see if you can get by me this time!

Pokemon:

Roserade @ Focus Sash
(Timid Nature- 252 Spa/ 252 Spe/ 6 HP)
Natural Cure- Level 91

Sleep Powder
Leaf Storm
Sludge Bomb
Hidden Power Ground (If implementable)/Extrasensory

Venusaur @ Life Orb
Overgrow- Level 93
(Jolly Nature- 252 Atk/ 252 Spe/ 4 HP)

Swords Dance
Sleep Powder
Power Whip
Earthquake

Breloom @ Toxic Orb
Poison Heal- Level 94
(Adamant Nature- 252 Atk/ 252 Spe/ 6 Def)

Spore
Seed Bomb
Focus Punch
Stone Edge

Ludicolo @ Life Orb
Swift Swim- Level 94
(Lonely Nature- 132 Atk/ 200 Spa/ 168 Spe)

Surf
Seed Bomb
Ice Beam
Fire Punch

Shaymin-S @ Life Orb
Serene Grace- Level 96
(Timid Nature- 252 Spa/ 252 Spe/ 4 SpD)

Seed Flare
Earth Power
Air Slash
Psychic

Sceptile @ Life Orb
Overgrow- Level 98
(Rash Nature- 252 Atk/ 80 Spa/ 176 Spe)

Leaf Storm
Earthquake
Leaf Blade
Focus Blast

Strategy: This team focuses on sleeping the opponent then sweeping. Breloom, Roserade, and Venusaur can all set the opponent to sleep. Any member on the team can then either come in, set up, and sweep the opponent's team. There is a pretty even balance of physical and special moves on the team to provide coverage against any threat. This round, Meagan has a huge emphasis on outspeeding the opponent or rendering them immobile. This is why either Sleep Powder or a high Base Speed is on all of the Pokemon on the team with the exception of Ludicolo. Ludicolo serves as an answer to Rain Dance teams that may try to set up to counter the Sunny Day styles of Round 1. Ludicolo then powers up with Swift Swim and barrels through the opponent.

Defeat Dialogue: Even the overaggressive traits of some Grass-types were not enough to turn the tide against you! Well done!

Closing Speech: You honestly are probably the best battler I have ever faced. It's no shock to me that you've defeated the Azure Frontier before. Go on and conquer it once more!

The Map of the Puzzle is now attached!!!!

This is a door.
This is a vine that will push the user back one space if the user collides into it.
This is where Meagan is.
This indicates a Gloom that will attack and sleep the lead Pokemon in your party.

Enjoy!

@ Zeta Dimentio:
I have just two suggestions for an otherwise great submission:
#1: Perhaps you could make it so that the switches have to be set in a specific order? Like "switch #1 ON, switch #3 ON, switch #2 OFF" or something like that. (you know, kind of like the puzzle that had to be done during the Rocket invasion of the radio tower in G/S/C). That would be slightly more challenging, yet it would not be complex. Whether you should battle the guardians every time you try to flip the switch, would be your decision.
#2: You're running a RD team of sorts with Kyogre in Round 2, right? Make him the lead! Your team would benefit much more from a permanent rain during the entire match, rather than just letting Empoleon benefit from it.
Kingdra would be wickedsick, I promise you. Give it Dragon Pulse or Draco Meteor, and it will mash everything to pieces.

@ Skip Shot:
I love the fact that you are using the Grass-type, my favourite, though I hate the fact that it's belonging to the first E4 trainer -.-
Anyways. I can understand the puzzle, sort of, yet I find myself a bit confused about how the vines actually work. I would probably spend 20 full heals just to get to the leader, due to the Glooms, but that is just a nice touch, so keep that. Though I can't really say much about improvements on the actual team (read: it's amazing!), I find myself a bit surprised of the mention of opposing Rain Dance teams. Ludicolo will probably sweep and kill without problems, but I sincerely doubt that he'll have to actually do what you foresaw, as I can't remember anyone making a RD team in-game but me. Also, would Leaf Storm on a late game sweeper be such a good idea? I'm just wondering, since you are a far more experienced competitive battler than myself.

Summa summarum, great work. I doubt anything I'd made could actually stand up to that challenge and win. Woo!
+Anti: we were all noobs at some point
+Anti: or in sims' case
+Anti: still are noobs
+Anti: his team looks like a salad

When you run into a vine, it acts kind of like a slingshot and pushes you backward a step from where you ran into the vine.

The Glooms only activate once, so its more like 4 Full Heals ;)

Ludicolo can abuse Rain Dance, and although not many people use it in-game, it is a nice touch competitively to a monotype Grass team. Its really not something that is around that common, but its nice to be able to stop Rain Dance.

Sceptile usually abuses Leaf Storm on its special or mixed sets, even the late game sweeper sets. It only has Dragon Pulse/Hidden Power Ice as its other special attack, and Leaf Storm is really only used on Ground or Water types that Sceptile comes in on (and who would leave them in?) It has Earthquake and Focus Punch(again, the switch in factor) to back up Leaf Storm as well. Sceptile really relies on you switching in and out with your team to hit opponents- something that the competitive metagame calls prediction.

Thanks for the review!
