Got the title from one of the news long ago. Someone actually mentions he would text message that much. D:

Anyways, to the poll. Do you prefer to call or text someone? Decided to ask this question because I'm noticing many people at my university having these new cell phones with the key boards. XD

As for me, I prefer phone calls. One, I'm slow at text messaging. Heck, I never text message unless one of my friends text messaged me first. D: Second, I don't have to wait for a reply and I tend to suck replying to text messages. XD Cell phone tagging can get annoying, but at least I know that my friend or someone else is busy. :P

Earlier this year, I would have never said this, but I prefer texting.
I ended up getting unlimited text messages earlier this year, and since then, I pretty much use it a lot (though, I don't like sending the first text...I'm weird like that). I think the most messages I've ever sent were like 300 in a month. That really surprised me, as I really didn't expect to text that often. I had debated about getting the 200 messages plan. Good thing I didn't.

...You say that like 1,000 text messages is a difficult amount of texts to get to. :(

Anyway, text messages are my number one way of contact. For one, my phone is always by my side whether I'm at home on the computer, chilling downstairs, or when I'm out of the house. I'm one of those people who check my phone, like, every ten minutes to see if I have texts and take the time to respond to all of them. Then, of course, whenever I hear that I get one, I go check and reply back. I try to respond to every single text I get, regardless of what it is.

Then there's the phone... which I usually don't answer unless it's someone I know or am expecting a call. I usually just let my voice mail get it and I call them back later if I feel the need to.

So for me, texting > calling.

Heck, I just payed the bill for my phone (well, my dad did... but whatever) five or so days ago and I only used 6 of 450 of my anytime minutes, 9 of 5,000 of my nights and weekend minutes, 4 of Unlimited mobile to mobile, and 0 of 399 Rollover Minutes. Where I have 554 of Unlimited texts. :>

Well, it's difficult for me. D: That and I always think 1,000 as a big number. Yeah, you can call me old. :P

You can join me on the porch, shaking our canes at the old whippersnappers.

I don't text at all. My phone has the option, but I never use it. For one thing, I have no one to text, since most of my friends either don't have cell phones or older phones without that option. For another thing, I can't stand writing short messages, and phones have a limited amount of characters you can send (or at least mine does). For another thing, why send short messages all the time about small things when you can talk to the person about everything face-to-face and actually connect to the other person.

I also don't call anyone, but I prefer talking over the phone than texting.

I text message that much but thats the point in having unlimited minutes & messaging. Never have to worry about that sort of thing.

Well, one time, between me and kimi, we traded about 350 text messages in a month, but yeah...I've had a 1000 text per month plan, so yeah. xD

Now normally I seldom check for text messages, I'm not the texting sort of guy usually since I use the internet to keep in touch with people. (and even then, I'm not the one who replies almost instantly, I reply when I get the time.)

If I had to choose between the two I would rather talk over the phone than send a text message. I hate having the hassle to text back and forth all the time, when I can simply make the call and have more of a direct conversation with a friend or family. Texting would take up more of my time between my recipient on the other end than it would with me actually confronting them. I would text yes, but only when one texts me first, because I would rather simply make the quick phone call and get what I have to say over with. Though, that doesn't mean to say there are times when I rather text one than have a phone call, but that would only be to a certain extent of people that I really don't want to talk with. Still, I'd rather make a phone call than text back and forth most of the time, it's easier for me really.

I prefer texting to calling. Some of my friends think the idea of a phone call is to speak to someone four hours straight on a phone. I'm not like that, I prefer to talk for thirty minutes max about news or something really important. Why talk for so long when I see them at school the next day.

Texting is also easy for me now that I'm use to the touch screen. Before, touch screen texting was impossible for me but one month with the phone made it much easier to use now.

My plan is the £15 a month texter. This gives you unlimited texts and seventy five minutes. That's pretty much all I need to I find it perfect - and at a good price.

I texted my friend a couple times ONCE, and apparently most my minutes were used after I finished.

So yeah, I prefer calling people.

I don't text much so I don't even have a texting plan. I'm thinking of getting the cheapest one since I've been exchanging maybe one or two per day with a friend and it'll probably be cheaper to just grab a 250 texts/month plan rather than pay $0.25 for each incoming and outgoing text. :( I still prefer to text over talk on the phone, though, since it's cheaper. I just don't have the option since the only people I use my phone to contact aren't very phone-savvy anyway. My mom simply does not know how to text and won't retain the instructions when I teach her and my dad finds it faster to phone so... @[email protected];

I do however use my mobile web browser a lot for twitter. n_n; I can load well over 1000 pages in a month so I find that to be a much better use of my money than a text plan.

I prefer to hear the voice of the caller naturally. You can easily sense if that caller is fooling you. Texting is nowadays not 100% reliable.
