This is an abnormal title for a normal poll

Do you prefer titles in the OVP that are straightforward, or the wacky ones?

I like the ones that are straightforward, to be honest (even though this one isn't exactly XD). It gets to the point so I don't actually have to hover over the link to see what it's about :p

I like the wacky titles better. Those ones are actually more fun and creative, in my opinion. And no, I don't mind checking out the thread because of the title because that's the fun part of it. :P I suck at thread titles, though. XD;

I rather the wacky titles as it catches my attention more. Like mentioned, they are also more creative and adds to the fun of the thread. Having a title that goes direct to the point is pretty nice as well, but it just defeats the purpose of having the hover and read feature for the forum threads. Creative titles are a win for me, and believe it or not, a title can be both wacky and direct at the same time.

The wacky titles tend to attract my attention more. I'll check out the thread to see what exactly the OP made a thread about... which usually provokes me to post more.

Still, I like the straightforward titles better. That way I can avoid the thread all-together if I don't particularly enjoy the subject. BD

The wacky ones used to catch my attention because they were outside the norm and--key word here--witty. They used to relate to the poll inside the thread in either an amusing or thoughtful way. Now it's just about making it as random as possible in the hopes that you'll pique someone's curiosity to check inside to see what the hell you could possibly be talking about. :/

I prefer the straight forward kind nowadays. At least I know what kind of poll to expect, then.

Anything out of the ordinary catches my eye, so I tend to check out the threads with wacky titles first by hovering over them or clicking on them. I prefer straightforward titles, however, because I prefer not having to actually click on a thread to find out what it's about. If a thread's title is clever or witty, and it's related to the question being asked, then it's awesome. If it's just a bunch of capitals involving someone's name and a stupid scenario, it's not cool. That's just crying out for attention, really.
'It's been a prevalent notion. Fallen sparks. Fragments of vessels broken at the Creation. And someday, somehow, before the end, a gathering back to home. A messenger from the Kingdom, arriving at the last moment. But I tell you there is no such message, no such home -- only the millions of last moments . . . nothing more. Our history is an aggregate of last moments.'

I like straightforward titles because of the way I browse forums. I quickly scan titles of threads for anything interesting to post in. If the title is straightforward, I can guess if it's a thread I would want to read and maybe post in. If the title is witty and kind of clever, then I'll offer my mouse over it to see what it's about. If the title is just plain completely random, then I tend to ignore the thread unless I have nothing better to do but read it.

I prefer straightforward simply because often 'wacky' titles are pitiful attempts at being funny, imo. Generally, I facepalm when I see threads such as those and move on to the next topic =3=;

I normally prefer the straightforward ones. But I'm not pissed off by the wacky ones or something.
The straightforward ones save me time, which I like. If they interest me, then I'll check out the topic. If they don't interest me, I don't even have to waste time checking them out most of the time, which is good.
The wacky ones somewhat repel me. If they give me a hint, then I'll check them out or not depending on if it interests me or not. If they're not obvious, then I'll check them out for a short while and see if they're worth it sometimes. Otherwise, I just skip them.

I sometimes like the straightforward poll questions, but the wacky ones are the ones I like, if they are creative, understandable and funny. Sometimes, I see a wacky title and go check on it, only to be met with something completely different.

Call me boring, but threads with straight forward titles (unless they are meant to be fun and whatnot, like chat threads and whatnot) are threads that catch my attention. The only exception apart from chat threads would be threads posted in NU/W. Even though I don't frequent those forums much anymore, when I do go there, I look at threads with more creative titles than boring ''Hi, I'm new!''

Straightforward works for me, unless the wacky ones are somewhat related to the actual poll topic. I like to know what I'm getting myself into :)
