Ugh. I've posted this problem here before, but here goes:

I bought a Dell laptop about a year ago, and it worked fine until maybe 3 months after I had it. The screen went out, but the built in webcam/mic and backlight still worked. So, I sent it in to Dell, they repaired it, and sent it back.
A few months after that, it happened again. I hooked it up to an external monitor, and couldn't send it in until the end of summer because of school related projects. But I eventually sent it in again, for the same problem. I got it back about a month ago.
Yesterday, my screen went out yet again. Same exact thing.

Okay, I am not rough with my laptop at all, just to get that out of the way. I use it for school and dubbing, and that's about it. Last time I sent in my laptop, I suggested that they send me a new shell since I thought this might happen again, but they did not. If I just send it to get repaired again, I know they probably won't send me a new laptop altogether, even if I were to demand it, and I know this will happen again. I am sick and freaking tired of this. I honestly don't know what to do now. D:

Does anyone know why the screen goes out repeatedly, even though they repaired it twice already? And what I should do? It seems that Dell either is very lazy, or just sucks at repairing things. >.<

It sounds like a faulty connection.

I had a Dell laptop that did exactly the same thing.
It is like trying to draw blood from a stone with the customer services.
I just gave up and bought a new one.
NOT A DELL! ^___^

Without actually seeing the computer in person, it's really hard to diagnose. But judging by the sound of it, as Alinthea already said, there could be a faulty connection somewhere. Another thing it could be is a short somewhere in the LCD lead, which might be a little difficult to pinpoint.

Either way, whatever the problem is, the best option would be to replace it, preferably with something besides Dell. They can't seem to pinpoint the problem, and knowing them, they won't send you a replacement laptop.

Ugh. Well I know I'm never buying a Dell again. >.< And yeah, I'm sure even if I called demanding a new one, they wouldn't do it. I guess I should start saving up for a different laptop then.
Yeah, just hook it up to a monitor and use it as a desktop. You can probably get a netbook for portable use if you have to; they're pretty cheap.

Yeah, I'm doing that for now. :)
And thanks everyone, I've decided to maybe send this in to get repaired again, and when I get it back I might sell it right away. That way, I can at lest get a start at saving up for a new one. ^^

That's the awesome thing. One of our Dell laptops had to get a new LCD AND new mainboard. Pretty much the whole thing, yet they just sent the parts with a tech that exchanged them.
I almost felt bad for the tech as he had to take apart the WHOLE thing. XD

Consider yourself lucky. I've never had that sort of luck with Dell. Usually, they'll put me on hold while transferring me about fifty times until they tell me that I'm going to have to buy something for a bunch of money to fix it.
