EDIT: Sorry, no longer updating. Could be troublesome later on. I guess you could PM me if you want more, though.

This being a NaNo story, expect frequent updates. Like, daily. XD

Also expect a fair few mistakes, little plot, and a fair bit of unnecessary drawing-out. I'll try and keep to a minimum, but such things are staples of NaNo, yes? Don't worry, I do proofread somewhat as I go along, but the emphasis here is on speed. Still, I hope to come out with something that you can enjoy.

Making this up as I go along. >_<

Enjoy!

Will edit with more info about the story once I devise it.

Have fun.

prologue, kthx.

What makes a story? Is it the words on the page, scrawled ink strokes like so many liquid spiders? Is it the words in the mouth, passed on from person to person; merely a few vibrations in the larynx?

No. No, a story is much more than that.

To tell a story, you need passion. What form that passion is expressed in is up to you.

It may be through anger, a burning hatred more powerful than the flames of Hell; all-consuming fury that destroys all that stands before it.

It may be through love, devotion just as powerful as any hatred; love that knows no bounds; love that transcends time and space. Love is, arguably, the most used device in passionate stories. It reaches out to us, touches us in ways nothing else can. It appeals to something within us, a needy void in our soul that aches to be filled.

Many storytellers in your world use love as their anchor, their building block upon which they construct their mighty epics. William Shakespeare’s tragedy of Romeo and Juliet is one such tale. Although written for the stage, and not for the page, it is undeniably a story unlike any other. A tale of star-crossed lovers doomed to die, reaching deep into our souls and tearing out our hearts with a masterful portrayal of love overcome by hate. Passion runs wild, and two people are ultimately destroyed by it.

My humble narrative is no match for literary genius. I do not have the skill with words to rend your heart in two when you read it. I am merely a man, a man with a story to tell. The most I can hope for is that my tale will touch your heart a little, and leave you feeling a little more enlightened than you were when you began reading.

The tale I am about to tell is set down exactly as I remember it, dredged up from the recesses of my mind. My recollection is likely somewhat hazy in places, given my age, but I shall endeavour to recount this tale as accurately as possible. Given that I am not the main player in this piece – I barely feature for quite some time – I shall present this story to you as if I were God, watching his pawns go about their business. This way, you will better understand what I am aiming to convey.
Let us begin . . .

*Cries* That was a very emotional prologue. But I loved it; and like you said, it tweaked at my heart a little. Anyways, *stops crying* I especially like this sentence. Also, no spelling mistakes that I could find!
