Just tonight, my ds went out. The top screen is dead. Now I can't trade or play Pokemon. I was thinking of using my cousin's DS while she's at school until I can get a new one. Will this do any harm. I remember the Nurse saying that I shouldn't go online on another DS. Why is this? Is it okay to use a different DS?

P.S. And this just had to happen on my birthday too!

Sorry to hear about your DS busting. There seems to be a lot of people that are having trouble lately. I don't think it matters(?).I don't actively use my DS though, but I've used games on other DS's.

Maybe all that will change is your Friend Code, but someone can correct if I'm wrong. :>

i think it was the nurse. u know the one who gives u the pal pad. it may have been a game message, idk. that was about a year ago!

It was bound to die. It was one of the first DS Phats to come out.

I think i'll sell the battery. or keep it.

As far as I am aware, it doesn't change anything.
I have used my friends DS's many time to trade and everything is the same.

Your Friend Code is unique to your actual Pokemon game, not the DS that it is played on.

Hope this helps.

Actually, Alinthea, your friend code has both to do with both the console and the game. Nintendo WiFi Connection treats the game and the console it's being played on as a unique entity, and generates a unique code to represent that.

As for going online with your cousin's DS, I wouldn't suggest it. You can still do local trades, battles, etc., but going online will generate a new friend code.

As far as I know it doesn't
my friend has had to use my ds to migrate from DP to plat and sometime DP goes in one and sometimes the other and its never changed not ever. But my ds playing is very inactive lol but I used to play my sisters whilst mine was charging
on the subject will remake a new code

I accidentally the whole DS. Is this dangerous?

But seriously, the worst side effects are that you have to reset you Wi-Fi stuff, and you might get an earful from Mr. Resetti on Animal Crossing.
