You wanna have an easier time, train everyone up to lv55. VRoad and the water route before it are gonna be your best bets. I had a thread awhile back complaining about how high the level gap was between last gym and Elite 4 and no good places to train D:

You could use a fire type in your party to be sure. Rapidash/Houndoom are the two most common fire types in Plat. Otherwise I think Magmar is available pre-E4 so you could go that route top 8D

Lucian uses Psychic-type pokemon and it will be good if u have a Dark-type attack ...

Yeah, which makes Houndoom and even better choice xP

Personally the lack of a grass type in your team is kind of an affront to my personal tastes, but it's hard to find a decent one in DPPt. Carnivine looks pretty kickass though. :3

I'll definitely try and get a Houndoom. Still open for more suggestions, :).

Garchomp is always an option. If you're a little lazy, like myself, you an catch V 44 Gabite in Victory Road, Or Gible in um, under the Cycling Road. Because Garchom basically owns the Elite Four. Also, in the Elite Four, Garchomp absolutely will stomp you with Earthquake. One hit to Empoleon and Luxuray, and it can't hit the others, although you cant hit it. Also, Flamethrower/Fire Blast on Scyther = One hit KO, and maybe two or three for Giratina. Yet another thing, if Houndoom/Rapidash doesn't have Flash Fire, get another one. Flash Fire's quite handy.

Thanks for these tips; I'll be sure to use them when challenging the E4 in Platinum. Even though that is a long way seeing as I haven't even started Platinum yet XD.

I don't see that many problems with Garchomp, it's easy to beat with something that has Intimidate (Luxray should have it), just throw some revives on it and Garchomp won't do anything.
I'm seeing more problems with that Lucario, Empoleon will die easily to Aura Sphere, Luxray can't take any hits anyway, same goes for Scyther (i think Scyther would be able to outspeed it if it wouldn't be so ridiculoulsy overleveled...) and it hits Giratine SE with Dragon Pulse.
Other threats... Maybe Infernape will give you some trouble, but i think Giratina should be able to defeat it, and if not, theres always Garchomp, like said above (same applies for the problems with Luke)
Against Alakazam (personally i always have the most trouble with it) i don't see too much problems, Empoleon won't like Focus Blasts, but Focus Blasts like to miss. Giratina should be able to take a hit and strike back against Alakazam's lol defences.

Or as an alternative to all the discussion: just spend all your money on something useful, attempt again and again, gain levels, when you've leveled enough, beat the E4 and Cynthia using all the revives previously bought. Always works.
