So you know when people write "That moment made me lol so much", I think to myself did they actually laugh out load? When I type lol I don't really laugh out load, I just type it when something is funny.

Well, some lols I did indeed laugh out loud while other times I chuckle but still think it's funny. However, I use the smilies XD and XD; more. Guess which one is laugh out loud and which one is laughing my butt off, lol :P

(now I'm just chuckling :x)

No. If I really find something funny, I'll go, "LOLOLOLOLOLOL" or something to that effect. XD

Person: I love cereal.
Me: Random, lul. (lul is when something is amusing but I'm not laughing)

Person: How did Helen Keller lose her arm?
Me: How?
Person: She went to read the stop sign.
Me: LAWL. LOLOLOL. (When I use something like that is when I'm actually laughing.)

..and yes, that joke is an example of something that I find hilarious. :3

I put "lol" if I really laughed out loud a little bit, "lmao" when I luaght out loud a lot, and rofl if I can't stop laughing. (Seriously sometimes i'll think about what made me rofl a few days later, and i'll start laughing again XD)

Anything from a mildly amused smile to a short laugh out loud is covered by 'lol'. If it's really funny I use 'lmao' or 'rofl'

and if I'm actually laughing my rear end off then I usually use "HAHAHAHAH" or "AHAHAHAHAHAAH" or a similarly overexagerated expression of laughter. Depends on the mood really.

I also tend to overuse 'XD' a lot. Mostly 'XD' is used when I'm saying something in a humorous tone. While the 'XD' doesn't always mean that I'm joking or making fun of something it does somewhat signify that the response is tongue-in-cheek or a witty reply, which is usually reflexive...mainly when I say the first thing that comes to mind. If the overall tone of the conversation is humorous then you may see it a lot from me...or if I'm trying to lighten the mood up a bit. Sometimes I think the 'XD' overuse irritates some people, but eh, It's not like it's harming anyone, and if they're seriously bothered by it, they can open their mouths and say so politely if they so desire a more serious conversational tone.

Formality bores, casual shakes off the snores. :p

I usually type 'lol' when something brings a smile to my face. This sometimes confuses my friends over Skype because I would type 'lol' but they don't hear my laugh xD. When I do make an audible laugh though, I usually type LOL or LMAO.

When I usually put "lol" I don't really laugh, but sometimes I do if it is really funny.

I made a thread like this one when I joined, and my answer was the answer for the majority of the people.

NO. Lolz, if I put lol, or Lolz, which I more likely do, I'm just amused, and even then, I might not be. I could just be saying it to be nice, or continue the conversation. =3
he did it, not me.

I'm always laughing in real life, but when I say LOL here or anywhere else online it is either because the message I was replying to was funny or made a smile or small laugh break out.

There would be times though when I replace LOL with either lol or Ha ha.

I use "lol" as a filler or if I find something funny. But if I actually laugh out loud, then I say "LOL" or "lmfao". And sometimes when I'm caught off-guard I say "lol" IRL too. How embarrassing.

Oh really, I do. People don't know why though and they give me the "she's a schitzo"-eye.
