Group A South Africa, Mexico, Uruguay, France.

Group B Argentina, South Korea, Nigeria, Greece.

Group C England, USA, Algeria, Slovenia.

Group D Germany, Australia, Ghana, Serbia.

Group E Holland, Japan, Cameroon, Denmark.

Group F Italy, New Zealand, Paraguay, Slovakia.

Group G Brazil, North Korea, Ivory Coast, Portugal.

Group H Spain, Honduras, Chile, Switzerland.

Group G (and subsequently group H in the Round of 16) is going to be really interesting.

I couldn't be happier with England's group. Hopefully Germany top their group, so we get a relatively easy second round match; too.

England's group is pretty much as easy as could be. I'd be very surprised if England don't finish top of the group with 9 points.
USA are going to be the team to watch out for though in that group.

On paper, we should get through, but you never know in this beautiful game.

USA will qualify, I'm fairly certain of that, but England are a far superior team to
the rest of the teams in their group. In fact, according to SkyBet, England are currently joint second favourites to win the whole thing (joint with Brazil, second to Spain).

With Sven in charge, you'd have had reason to be a bit nervy. But with Capello as coach, there's no way England aren't topping that group. And I'm gonna bet good money on that.

Group G is going to be a very interesting one. Korea DPR(North Korea) have beaten these teams so far. Ivory Coast have an interesting team, very strong. Whereas, Brazil and Portugal are very skilled teams!

Predictions to advance:

Group A South Africa, Mexico, Uruguay, France.

Group B Argentina, South Korea, Nigeria, Greece.

Group C England, USA, Algeria, Slovenia.

Group D Germany, Australia, Ghana, Serbia.

Group E Holland, Japan, Cameroon, Denmark.

Group F Italy, New Zealand, Paraguay, Slovakia.

Group G Brazil, North Korea, Ivory Coast, Portugal.

Group H Spain, Honduras, Chile, Switzerland.

Agreed. I predicted we'd get 7 points in our group in '06 and got that right, lets hope I'm right again.

USA are the only team that could come close to getting a point from us.

Unless we get a ridiculous amount of injuries then there is surely no chance of us going out in the groups.

I think with a little luck in later stages we should get pretty far, as long as we or Germany don't screw up then I'd say we're secured a quarter final place.

I'd say these are probable advances. Really looking forward to this one. Lots of surprises so far in qualifying alone, but the actual thing never ceases to surprise xD

Don't underestimate the Yanks. So much money has been put into the sport there since USA '94, and they're now 14th in the world (12th in terms of teams who qualified for the 2010 finals).

Some predictions from me:

Group Stage (first place in bold, second place in itallics):

Group A South Africa, Mexico, Uruguay, France.

Group B Argentina, South Korea, Nigeria, Greece.

Group C England, USA, Algeria, Slovenia. (But it'll be jolly close.)

Group D Germany, Australia, Ghana, Serbia.

Group E Holland, Japan, Cameroon, Denmark.

Group F Italy, New Zealand, Paraguay, Slovakia.

Group G Brazil, North Korea, Ivory Coast, Portugal. (But epic win if North Korea get second place.)

Group H Spain, Honduras, Chile, Switzerland.

Round of 16 (winners in bold):

France vs. Nigeria
England vs. Ghana
Holland vs. New Zealand
Brazil vs. Chile
Argentina vs. Mexico
Germany vs. USA
Italy vs. Cameroon
Spain vs. Ivory Coast

Quarter-finals:

Nigeria vs. England
Holland vs. Brazil (A shock in this match, I reckon.)
Mexico vs. USA (On penalties - based purely on the USA's superior record.)
Italy vs. Spain (Again, on penalties.)

Semi-finals:

England vs. Holland
USA vs. Italy

Final:

Holland vs. Italy

The Netherlands to win their first World Cup, England and the USA get good results by reaching the semis, New Zealand to go through to the second round despite their lowly ranking. :B

Aye, he did. He practically won you Euro '08. ;D

Oh, and regarding my above predictions, I can't call it for third place. I suspect we'll probably draw with the US in the group stage, and that the same will happen at that stage.

Group G is clearly the hardest one. Three great teams plus North Korea who might be a surprise like they were in 1964.

I think the final match will be Spain vs Brazil. The winner is unpredictable though.
As for my country, I don't think we'll go much further than the round of 16. We needed a miracle (well, almost) to get qualified to the World Cup.

Germany's group isn't as easy as the 2006 one, but i think we can do it and beat the group, even though our current team pretty much sucks....
The eigth finals... If England doesn't screw up and ends up second, all will be fine, i don't see a bigger thread in any other of Group C members, none of them is a huge power in football.
But then, in the Quarter Finals, we will very likely play against Argentinia, no way to win that, Argentinia is just too good.

Generally, i'm pretty sure, Italy will luck around again and get far, but lose to Brazil in the finals.

Actually, Argentina had a rough ride to qualification and towards the end were probably pretty happy that they did qualify.

I think England can go to the semis based on our easy match possibilities but I don't know from then.

EDIT: Just thinking, if you had to pick your squad for the world cup who would you pick at the moment?

Spoilt for choice there, Went.

Group H seems the group of death this time, Brazil vs Portugal will be a fun to watch :D. Switzerland's road to the next round seems tricky, defeating Spain is tough, hope it's the last group match, Spain will prolly qualify till then and the memories of defeating a second string Portugal 2-0 in Euro will be back, and the Chile game is must win if a loss is the result from the Spain game. In Group D, the second place is up for grabs for any team, and the contest for it seems exciting. England have got an easy group, and their fans are crying foul that Germany are using the official ball for the World Cup. It's not a big thing though.
My predictions for who'll qualify for the next round:

Group A South Africa, Mexico, Uruguay, France.

Group B Argentina, South Korea, Nigeria, Greece.

Group C England, USA, Algeria, Slovenia.

Group D: Germany, Australia, Ghana, Serbia.

Group E: Holland, Japan, Cameroon, Denmark.

Group F: Italy, New Zealand, Paraguay, Slovakia.

Group G: Brazil, North Korea, Ivory Coast, Portugal.

Group H: Spain, Honduras, Chile, Switzerland
