Byethost sucks. If you want a good free host, try 110mb. Of course, free hosting has gotten worse over the years, and paid hosting has only gotten much cheaper. I recommend you just purchase some good hosting.

If by graphic-based layouts you mean "layouts that have no consideration for browser that use no images (Lynx, or even a setting that disables them in modern browsers,) severely impairing accessibility because of their poor design skill", then I have a pretty negative opinion on it.

What about Byethost is suckish and what about 110mb is good?

And what about layouts where just the background and header and such is graphic, but the menu and content and all that is still entirely text? That doesn't impair accessibility, it just makes the layout look pretty darn boring with pictures disabled.

Mai website =3

Byethost is down much more often than 110mb and it uses the often mentioned 'Safe Mode' that the PHP developer lot uses around here? 8)

That's a different context, but that's not where you were originally going with your question about strongly graphical-oriented layouts.

Not really, It's a layout with background images by CSS.
It is in fact a graphical layout. It is heavily driven by a graphic. The form of application is irrelevant. I can eat my rice with a chopstick, fork or a spoon, but that doesn't mean it isn't rice because I don't use a chopstick.

Also, what the hell is with us arguing about graphical layouts.

I'm working on PE again, just finished remaking the original layout, and now I'm working on the actual content before moving the forums to their own folder and uploading the site.

I'm going to officially start web designing now. I've been doing it before a lot but just for fun, now I'm going to start taking it a bit more seriously and trying to improve at the same time.

I live in a rural town in Minnesota. Believe me, we have enough niche small businesses that need a web presence that I'll be fine.
Just don't overcharge like some people, or just up and leave in the middle of making a layout like Razz did to me. Same with you Mizaki. It made me unbelievably mad when Razz left with no word.

This is the same exact thing every site that was once dedicated to Pokemon, now to Graphic Design/Web design said. But where are they now, as far as this goal being proposed? They provide 'free layouts' and other gimmicks that no one else really cares about, and are relying on monkey change generated by ad revenue, not anything at all relevant to making money based on good skills and negotiation.

On the subject of making money with web design/programming, my suggestion for you (and everyone else who wants to) is to avoid freelancing. If you like dealing with people who don't pay you for what something is really worth, then you're welcome to pursue freelancing all you want. Just make sure that you use escrow funding sites, so you don't end up getting punked. It happens all of the time.

Otherwise, find a job at a company who needs a recurring web designer/programmer. They'll pay you the money you should be getting paid as a web designer. Rentacoder/Elance doesn't care; as long as they get a percentage of money from jobs being done, they don't care if Bob decided to pay a designer $50.00 for a design that could well be worth more than that.

Yay, it's Haunter Master again. How've you been bro?

Good, I've been good. Looking for an HTML editor where I can drag images into it and it makes all the img tags and stuff, I used to have one, but I forgot what it's name was, and for some reason Dreamweaver doesn't have that feature.

I use notepad for quick touch ups, but the bulk of it is done in Dreamweaver, I have to admit, I love the auto complete.
