Hey everyone! Im looking into getting one of these 3 consoles. So I was wondering which you all prefer, and what one you think is better and has better games. In the past I've owned a PS2 and Gamecube, so I dont really no anything about Xbox. Also which controller do you find the best?

Wii is more casual, if you want something in that direction.

Personally, I'd reccomend the 360. It has a good library of games, and the controller is form fitting.

Can't say much about the PS3, though, since I don't own one. Though, If you still have your PS2, keep it, since you won't be able to play any of the games on the PS3 unless you get one of the old 60GB models. (I at least think it's the 60gb that has backwards compatability)

I'd recommend the PS3, assuming your not one of the type of gamers that play on a Wii (casual gamers might fit). Its about the same price as the 360, has a good library of games, its online isn't quite as good (but it is free, and there's Playstation Home if you're interested in that type of stuff). It also has a lot more with that similar price. It has a blu-ray player, wi-fi (360 requires an extra 100 dollars I believe for that ability), controllers you don't have to buy rechargable batteries for (plugs in with cables to console to recharge), and more I forget. Not to mention I saw a bundle from best buy that gets you an HDTV, a PS3, a game and a blu-ray movie with $dollars off from that (lets see if I can find the link... here's a new article I found: http://www.crispygamer.com/news/index.php/2009-12-03/best-buy-sony-team-up-for-ps3-hdtv-holiday-deal/ )

Definitely not any games, since they even have a page to check if a game is compatible.

This would depend on what you want out of your console.

If you are more likely to play with family and friends who aren't hardcore gamers, go with the Wii.
It can be fun, but the games available for it are limited for now, in my opinion.

The X-Box is something good to go for if you like a lot of the exclusive games out for it. It is a decent console, but the only downside is paying for the X-Box Live.

The PS3 is good with nice graphics and a good selection of exclusive games. The online play is free, but not as good as the 360's. Only because it is free. However, I have a PS3 and the online hasn't let me down once =]

Hope that helps =]

It depends on what kind of games you like. Wii is probably the best all around, though you have to sift through tons of crap to find a decent game. PS3 is a cheap blu-ray player, has quite a few good games, and has HDTV support. I recommend this for "hardcore" games. I don't reccomend the 360 at all, it's basically a PS3 with faulty hardware, unless you like Halo.

I'm getting sick of this.

If you want Jesus with cancer, get a 360.
If you want Jesus with no problems and Uncharted, get a PS3.
If you want to play great games but get looked down upon as a "casual" gamer just because alot of crappy games exist on your console, get a Wii.
If you want a pointless post ask Barney.

I don't like getting into these threads because I always end up arguing my points rather than just discussing them, however since you're asking what you should buy, i'll add an unbiased input.

A lot of people will tell you that the Wii is only for casuals, it's an urban myth, it IS fair to say the Wii has more crappy games than the other 2 by far, but Wii does have some good ones. It's also noteworthy that there's LOADS of casual games on the online playstation store (albeit they're about £4-£6 each) and with natal hitting 360 soon there'll no doubt be a load of casual stuff on there too. So really, if you want casual, all 3 can offer you something.

In terms of controllers, it saddens me to say, but PS3 has the worst controller. It's not a bad controller, but the 360 one just feels, i dunno, easier to hold? And Wii's main selling point is it's controller, which i think pretty much makes it incomparable to the other 2.

When it comes to exclusive games, i think PS3 wins hands down (its the main reason i got mine) Uncharted 2, MGS4, Killzone 2 (its a good game it just feels really heavy) LittleBigPlanet, Ratchet & Clank series, SingStar, Gran Turismo, Wip3out, SOCOM etc, there really is something for everyone on PS3. 360 does offer fun stuff like L4D and Gears (and I guess Halo tho i really dont think Halo is anything special) and PGR, it doesnt really have a such a large variety of great exclusives as PS3.

For online, the Wii is the clear loser, it uses a haphazard friend code system, it's awkward to set up and it's laggy. XBL probably is the best (however they charge you for it) and it has the best tech support by miles. PSN is pretty good, it's not got as many bells and whistles as XBL, and the support staff are kinda rubbish, but it's free, it works fine and it's constantly getting better with each firmware update.

In terms of gameplay I don't really think there's a clear victor. Wii has it's own style and there is honestly little difference between PS3 and 360 in terms of gameplay.

Looking at graphics, PS3 and 360 are pretty much tied at top. Some 360 games look better than most ps3 games, some ps3 games look better than most 360 games etc. The main thing is both run on 720p and both can put out 1080p.

For extra features I'd say PS3 wins, it has a capable browser, video, BBC iPlayer, Music, Pictures, PlayTV, VidZone, customizable, animated themes that change with the time of day, HOME etc. It also has DVD and Blu Ray which is awesome if you like films.

In terms of cost, I think that all are pretty neck to neck. PS3 is a bit more pricey but like Theo said, you really get your money's worth. Built in WiFi, Blu Ray, rechargable controllers, Blue tooth support etc. With the Wii, it's pretty average for it's price, again you get what you pay for. With the 360, it seems cheapest at first, but to utilize it it'll cost you a fair bit more in the long run.

Wow, kinda tl;dr there. Anyway I hope the above points help clear things up a little for you, but at the end of the day, no one can really suggest what you should get without knowing what you like.

The main problem here is what kind of audience you'd be recommending the consoles to.

The 360 is (and most definitely always will be) tailored more to the American audience with games like Halo and the design of the controller. The American (and the western market) generally prefer action and first person shooter games.
The PS3 on the other hand is (obviously) more tailored towards the Asian market.

There will of course be games and such that deviate from the norm on each console but they're in the minority.

I suppose I see your point there, however considering both of them share the majority of their games which are aimed at Western markets I'd say both can please both audiences.

I can already tell this has been open too long. I thought people might have matured a bit, but I guess I was sadly mistaken.

If you like what games the 360 offers, get a 360.
If you like what games the PS3 offers, get a PS3.
If you like what games the Wii offers, get a Wii.

kbye.
