Celebrations forum Rules

Before posting or creating a celebration thread, please take heed of the following rules. They are enforced in this area and have have been decided upon by the community staff. Failure to adhere to these rules will result in warnings and/or infractions being distributed.
Unless otherwise stated, the general [url-inline="showthread.php?t=91723"]PokéCommunity[/url-inline] and [url-inline="showthread.php?t=85143"]Other Chat[/url-inline] forum rules apply to this area.
- This area is for birthdays, promotions, anniversaries and other special occasions only.
Any threads relating to the PokéCommunity such as a million posts go in the main Other Chat forum as this is for member-specific threads only.
--
- Do not post in or create ANY celebration threads that are two weeks past.
If a thread has not been posted in for two weeks, or a thread hasn't been made and two weeks have past since the event occured, then it's over and your post would not be beneficial. If you'd like to offer your congratulations, simply PM the member.
--
- No general threads
Seeing as celebrations are special occasions, we deem them worthy enough for their own thread (in most cases), thus general threads for birthdays, anniversaries or special occasions are not to be posted. Moreover, threads for holidays and the like can be posted in Other Chat.
--
- Before posting a thread, make sure that there isn't a duplicate thread already made.
In order to prevent the creation of duplicate threads in the rush to be first (people take it quite seriously here), please check to ensure that a thread for the occasion hasn't already been created. To assist in this, it'd be appreciated if the username of the member is placed in the topic.
--
- Do not make a thread celebrating a certain amount posts.
Threads such as, "Drummershuffle made 1000 posts!" are not permitted, as they are pointless and generally considered spam. Posts are never something that deserve celebration, no matter how large the count is.
--
- Avoid posting the same message and saying you don't know the member.
Don't copy and paste the same message in multiple threads - if you want to wish someone happy birthday, write something personal to them, not just, "Happy birthday, mate!" five or six times consecutively. It is disrespectful to that member, looks spammy, (is obvious), and if done numerous times, an infraction for SPAM will be handed out. Furthermore, do not post saying you don't know the person. If you wish to post in a celebration of a person you don't know, that's fine, but wish them a happy birthday or give your congratulation and leave it at that. Don't just post saying, "Happy birthday, don't know you though..." or "I have nothing else to say..." because it's pointless and somewhat rude.
--
- Ask permission before making a birthday thread. If you plan on making a birthday thread for another member, please ask their permission first. Some would prefer a special friend making their thread, and if some random member makes it, well they wouldn't be happy, and it can ruin the otherwise happy moment. If you wish to keep it a surprise, then PM myself ahead of time to give you the OK.
