I think this is possibly my most favorite Mecha anime ever. Mecha anime's have always been my favorite, and I think Code Geass is the Best of the Best. Also the end of the last episode is one of the only two scene's in an anime to ever make me cry. And for thoses of you that don't know what Code Geass is here is the plot.

After the invasion of Japan by the Brittannian Empire, the country is renamed "Area 11". The young Lelouch, a Brittannian student living in Japan, accidentally gets caught up in a local terrorist attack against Brittannia, reuniting with his childhood friend Suzaku as well as meeting the mysterious girl C.C. Cornered in a life and death situation, Lelouch accepts a power C.C. offers to him, the ability to order anyone to do anything. Harboring a thirst for revenge against the Brittanian Empire for their actions against his family, Lelouch wages war against the Empire. Using his newfound power and tactical ability, Lelouch goes under the alias Zero in attempts to fulfill his childhood vow, to destroy Brittannia!
If you don't believe in yourself, then don't worry,

because he will, no matter what.

I wasn't a fan. It was just a bunch of one-upsmanship, kind of like Death Note (which I also didn't like), and the characters didn't really draw me in. Plus, I tend to shy away from mecha.

Oddly enough, though, the character designs were fantastic! I wonder why that might be?

I was a fan of the first season, but the second season didn't really get my attention. Now there's news of a 3rd season. :/
I doubt it. I mean Lelouch

Spoiler:
dies
.

I don't get how another season would be released.

So, you're another one of those people who thinks Lelouch is dead. I can present all the evidence in favor of Lelouch living, but if you'd rather take Ichiro Okouchi's word over what one can actually see in the show...

I'm still in the middle of R2. I love this anime, great story, great characters and some funny scenes. C.C's addiction with Pizza is awesome.
In the middle of R2, you say? You're just in time to watch the entire series crash and burn.

Obviously we would and what can you actually see in the show? I hope you're not referring to all that **** about Lelouch having a code and you can slightly see it at the end.

Debate whether Lelouch is alive or dead aside, there are some ups and downs with both seasons. First season I don't like the filler that much, but I like the character interactions, especially with Lelouch and C.C. Second season I like the plot moving faster and a couple deaths there are emotional, but it gets a bit political in its own sense and the character interactions fell flat.

Honestly, I like the anime a lot, but I don't think it's that great as the hype says it to be.

Yeah, today I started to get weary of it. The thing is, the introduction of his new brother and Suzaku's actions are starting to get annoying.

To be honest, I'm on the fence regarding the whole affair; I just wanted to play devil's advocate for a moment there.

A lot of the problems with the second season can be tied to its pacing; everything from the nuking of Tokyo onwards was quite obviously a rush job. Important details get left out, characters' personalities and motivations become altered... They don't call it a trainwreck for nothing.

I'm still on the first season. Storytelling is great, but I don't much care for the characters themselves nor their unoriginal designs (save perhaps for Lelouch). It's on hold at this point until I can find an interest to get back into action anime.

It's a prequel. It even says that on the poster.

He is... it's just so obvious that it isn't even funny. Hell, the end of the last episode talks about how Susaku becomes Zero, how war stops and the world has peace.

They don't call it a trainwreck for nothing.
I was expecting this comment from the very start. :3

I'm actually okay with Lelouch's brother. I think he's a good character because of his development. Suzaku's actions though I got confused.

Yeah, amen on that. I think that's why I thought the character interactions fell flat in second season: everything is rushed and personalities and motivations has been changed all of a sudden.

I love this anime ;)
It's one of the best of all time :)

And about Lelou's death... why he wouldn't be alive? C2 practically spoke to him at the end of the 2nd season when he was supposed to be dead =D

He wasn't physically there, though. I dunno how to explain it, but when CC was 'talking' to Lelouch, she wasn't really expecting him to answer, since he's dead and all.

And besides, wasn't it his plan to die anyway? Most likely not from the beggining, but by R2 he saw his death would bring peace, and arranged that. Plus he was stabbed in the chest.

I'm actually leaning over to Ash493's prediction on this one.;

Considering that this is a very pretty but over-rated show they'll want to milk it for all it's worth;
They'll be trawling the series's dead corpse along with it for years, there always being a handy plot-twist to keep the main character alive.

As we can see, they've already started drawing out the minor characters own series;
C.C eh? I don't care about her ****** previous life in the olden days, I just want to see crap getting blown up by huge ass mechas.

Yes, because obviously, the writer himself didn't even know what the hell he was talking about. That makes perfect sense! A fan of the show says the writer is wrong...real smart.

I watched and liked the first two seasons, but I don't know if I'm up for another season. I watched Geass mostly because I liked Lelouch and Suzaku, but if Lelouch is dead then there's half my reason for watching the show. I guess I'll try out the first few eps and see if I like it.

That same writer also claimed that Nunnally and Sayoko perished in the FLEIJA blast, but we know what really happened in the show. Considering that the ending was vague and the entire second season in general post-FLEIJA was a hack job, I wouldn't put much trust in anything Ichiro Okouchi or his comrades say.

Personally, though, it's just as I said earlier; I'm on the fence regarding the whole debacle. We'll just have to see what the new project really looks like first.
