Question: Do these come with the pre-order only or can you get them when/after it gets released?
They're included in the game box, so you can get them whenever. It's why the game costs a slight bit more than what stores were expecting (afaik) because they weren't sure if the Pokewalker would be included. But since it is, the price has gone up a bit from original listing price in some stores.

It's not a pre-release special (that's the figurine), nor is it sold separately. It's sold as a package deal, just as it was in Japan.

I'm still bringing mine to work, btw. My manager will be interested in it.

I will, but it'll be in my backpack. Unless I see a bunch of people wearing them, in which case I'll say "screw it" and do so as well.

Well, I don't know if I'll get one, because I can download the game on my R4 too... Maybe this will change my opinion! But does the Pokéwalker also count when I have it in my backpack, or not? Because I really don't want to be seen with the Pokéwalker, because I'm 15 and that's really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really bad for my reputation.

That's a lot of really's o_o

The PokéWalker recognizes hip movement, so if you keep in a backpack, it may not detect your step counts accurately or much at all. If you're embarrassed of anyone noticing you have a PokéWalker, I would suggest just keeping it in your pocket. Therefore, you're guaranteed to gain step counts and no one should be able to see it.

As for myself, my pocket or belt will be my placeholder for it while I go out to the mall and park. Preferable my pocket, as things hooked onto my belt seem to become uncomfortable after a certain amount of time.

Lmao^

Lol, turn 19 this summer and I am going to walk around with one.. xD
Heck why not? No one would probably notice that I have it, let alone realize what it is anyway. xD

I turn 21 in May.

I'm wearing my Pokewalker to work and on my college campus.

I love Pokemon. I'm a nerd. If people don't like it, pfft, they can take a hike. ^.^ (And if they do take a hike, I might make them wear my Pokewalker. Get used out of those extra steps. :P)

Of course I would! Leveling while I get to my next class would be awesome. Besides, the campus is huge!

I actually wanted to make a thread asking about this. Dx Thank God I refrained and found this thread.
I'm debating over doing it or not, I mean, most people know I like Pokemon (and don't really care), but I don't want to end up getting caught with the thing and/or having to use it in a battle while I'm at school or something within those lines... D:
But hey, as I've been reading there IS a mute feature, and along with that it seems like it's worth it, so I probably will. :D

Imagine:
Teacher: Students, What Is 5+5?
Pokewalker: Pidgey Is Evolving!
Teacher: ???
Pokewalker: Pidggeoto Has Learned Quick Attack!
Teacher: What is this--?
Pokewalker: Pikachu Appeared!
Pokewalker: What Will Pidggeotto Do!?

Omg, I can't believe I never thought about this! Yes, I'll definitely do it. :DD
My school has three floors which I have classes on, so yeah, my Pokemon will be all set. nvn
But I am kinda worried about the sound thing, does it have a mute button? o:
I'll wear it if it does, but if it doesn't, I'm not so sure .. let's hope it does. 8D

You can place the PokéWalker in your pocket and it will recognize your steps just as it would have hooked onto your belt. It may not count your steps 100% accurately, but then again no pedometer can do such thing...yet.

It's the basic place in where I will be placing mines when going places. For instance, if I had it now I could have taken it with me in my pocket to the South Florida Fair and gotten quite a number of steps for my Pokémon. :)

I'm so glad people in college are more mature and don't care if you like Pokemon, Mario, Sonic, etc.

I will definitely wear mine in college, although I think it'll go in my bag during class.

If I still went to school, I wouldn't mind bring it in just because it's Pokemon. I wouldn't bring it in due to the risk of it getting damaged.

Definitely. My school is pretty damn big--it could pass for a university--so there's a lot of walking. As for showing it off, definitely since I'm not a closet nerd. :3

I would do it but I would make sure it isn't visible. To anyone. If they ask I just say I found this pedometer.

I'll be starting TAFE (Australia's Tertiary stage of study, like college in the US) next week and I will be taking my pokewalker with me in my pocket/bag, and depending how small it is possibly on my belt, assuming it has a mute button/no sound of cause.

They should've made like a puch or something to make it look like a normal everyday pedometer.

Of course I'll wear it! Even though if anybody saw it, they'd call me a freak for months... It seems like I'm the only person in my school who likes Pokemon... Anyways, the PokeWalker is pretty cool! Maybe I'll hide it in my pocket or something.
