In PMD2, why does the definition of 'Extinct' mean 'all over the place from the beginning of the game to the end'? Obviously I don't expect the Extinct pokemon not to feature at all but shouldn't they at least be rare, maybe have their own out-of-the way dungeon, maybe on a plateau Lost World style?
I've played through Darkness and will be getting sky soon and I think this slight problem is really annoying. What do the rest of you think?

Uhm, by extinct, I assume you mean Pokemon like Aerodactyl and Anorith? If so, where does it say extinct? Far as I know, they're usually called "fossil pokemon", and aren't really all gone, just rare. And PMD is more than likely on a different timeline than the main series anyhow.

That's a good point actually. However, in the 'normal' pokemon universe the only way to get them is through cloning of fossil material.
If we can assume that PMD and the other Spin-Off games are set after the events of R/B/Y, it could be argued that after fossil resurrection was perfected the revived Pokémon were allowed out into the wild where their population naturally increased and they just became part of the background. :3

How's your thirst for adventure, Captain?

Hm?
In Sky, I saw an Aerodactyl, either today or yesterday while going in the main storyline. I couldn't recruit it, but because I were level 100 (cheats) I checked the "recruitment search" or whatever option, nothing was there, but it didn't display "no pokemon will join you in this dungeon".. One of my senses say its because of the storyline, so who knows.

Try looking on Bulbapedia, they have lotta information there.
