This is just my opinion if you disagree state why so.

Reasons DPPt sucked:
1) The 4th Gen Pokemon are the most rush and uncreative
2) The Physical-Special split
3) The story line with Team Galactic and such was too over the top
4) The Gym Leaders and E4 were way too easy
5) The Sinnoh region doesn't have many Water routes

I disagree with Opinion #4. The Gym Leaders we're actually quite hard, if you don't level your Pokemon to a certain degree I'll guarantee that you'll lose, especially in Platinum. The Elite Four are also no pushovers, considering Cynthia's Garchomp and Lucian's Gallade(Platinum only), so yeah, these Gym Leaders and Elite Four members are no pushovers, unlike Generation II.....

I'll admit in Platinum some are a moderately challenging but in Diamond and Pearl they're easy.

And Geneartion II's Leaders were hard. Whitney anyone?

I kind of agree with Opinion #3 though. Team Galactic was a bit crazy, some of the grunts didn't even know what they were doing. They just were there to get rare Pokemon. Cyrus in Platinum says he thought the world was incomplete, so he took it upon himself to reconstruct the entire world using Dialga and Palkia. But the best part was when said that he was perfect, without Human Emotions. And he was creating this world for himself, not his group. Since when did he get holier than thou?

At least Magma and Aqua Grunts knew what they were fighting for, and Maxie and Archie actually make a lot of sense, if it wasn't that their ideal were so absurd I would join!

The new Physical special system makes more sense then the old one imo. things like Ice, Fire and Thunder punch definately should be Physical attacks.

The lack of water routes must have been to compensate for the flooded Hoenn.

A lot of the new pokemon are good, I think Rhyperior, Magmortar, the Garchomp line and others look very good.

I can understand your thinking behind 3 and agree to an extent with 4, However some teams such as Cynthia's team was quite good (a class above the rest of the ingame) but unfortunately the ingame AI sucks and ruined that.

I disagree with all of them...
They weren't really rushed...
The storyline wasn't too over the top.Maybe just a tad bit...
The gym leaders aren't easy unless you use high level pokemon that you catch and use rare candy AR cheat or EXP gain cheat.
What do u mean by physical-special split?
The sinnoh region doesn't have many water routes -_- so? atleast there were water routes

EDIT:
Looked at the comment above me about it.
The effects were nice.Although i miss the regular hyper beam..but the moves like judgement, spacial rend, roar of time, shadow force, etc. have nice effects

1) Maybe some of the Pokemon aren't so great [IMO Lickilicky & Probopass], but I think some of them are pretty darn cool.
2) That's a good thing.
3) Not really, TG are probably my favourite villains.
4) No they weren't.. maybe if you grinded to about level 20 at the very start they might have been east, but if you don't grind, it's called a challenge.
5) So? Screw water!

The physical-special split came in Gen IV, not all types are either physical or special, like in previous generations.

E.g: In Gen III, All Fire moves were Special, even Fire Punch.
In Gen IV, Fire Punch is Physical, as are other Fire moves such as Flare Blitz, but other moves, like Flamethrower are still Special.

no offense bro but if you are going to come up with an argument you should back them up with better points.
1. For number 1 we couldn't argue because it is about personal likes.
2. Actually pokemon from generation 1 are more rushed. They were being done in a very short time and because they were so rushed there were many mistakes. I forgot where I read it.
3. Can't be argued, I don't see why it is overdone. Team Galactic at least knew about their goal of creating a new world. What was the goal of team rocket? Are they as clear? And yeah team aqua and magma are the best villan teams ever.
4. How so, the elite four in pokemon platinum are one of the strongest ones. It has very high levels. Higher than hoenn and jhoto. And because of the type diversity of Cynthia's team, her team is arguably stronger than Gary's, which is limited by the simple type combinations.
5. Can't be argued, it really doesn't have many water routes. But how does it ruin the game?

Agree with everything but 2 and 4:
2. BEST THING TO HAPPEN TO POKEYMANZ SINCE EVS.
4. Elite Four was asdf REVIVE REVIVE REVIVE for me.

D/P/Pt has the best gameplay out of all of them arguably. It's just that the games themselves are one of the weakest among the bunch.

I agree that this generation is the worst one, but I disagree with most of your points. The physical/special split was the best thing to happen to Pokemon for ages, and the Elite 4 were not easy, especially in DP where they have variety in their teams, mono teams always get knocked out easily when you're well prepared, and are horribly overleveled. I'd probably even call them the hardest of all Elite 4s, closely followed by FRLG's second round. About the last point... Water routes are sometimes annoying as hell, so what's so bad about that?
Personally, I would say they suck mainly because of their atrocious slowness, a 4th generation game played at 200% is about as fast as any other Pokemon game played at normal speed. To be honest, if they were just a bit faster, I would probably not call them the worst generation, since they also had some very good points. The speed ruins it though.

Yes some of the new pokémon/forms look a little bit over the top, but you definitely can't say it's not creative. Coming up with cute pre-evolutions was a great idea and even if Bidoof always seem to keep popping up, you can't say Zigzagoons didn't pop up a lot either in R/S/E.
The Elite Four wasn't too difficult for me, but as Ryo said, [the first post after the thread maker] if you don't train your pokémon to a high level, Cynthia could be able to defeat you let alone with only her Uber, Garchomp. However HGSS is coming out, so hopefully that could satisfy some people who think the Elite Four is not that difficult.

Keep in mind however, this is just my two cents.

PLatinum I actualy kinda liked it i mean of course team galactic was a bit corny but the rest of the game proved very entertaining. Your right gyms and E4 didnt show a huge challenge but i guess cuz i spent so much time leveling up my team. Overall it was a good game and i cant complain.

I actually consider R/S/E worst due to too much water and all the annoying wingulls and tentacools. D/p/pt is a great gen due to some crappy Pokemon getting evos(Aipom,Roselia,Magmar,Electabuzz, and Lickitung) I think Gen 4 has the best Legendaries too. So what if you hate some do some don't.

Miltank used rollout, Miltank used rollout, Miltank used rollout, Miltank used rollout... she was hell!!! I leveled up my Quilava in order to face her and then BOOM! Rollout :P

Yes I agree. Diamond and Pearl have pushovers for leaders. Havn't tried Platinum so I don't know how harder they are there. Havn't played Ruby/Saphire so don't know if they're harder than emerald there. The top 10 hardest gym leaders are:
1. Tate & Liza (In Emerald)
2. Chuck
3. Brawly (In Emerald)
4. Misty (In FR/LG)
5. Wattson (In Emerald)
6. Norman (In Emerald)
7. Winona (In Emerald)
8. Juan
9. Claire
10. Whitney

No I think generation III (or Emerald, Firered and Leafgreen anyway) have the toughest leaders. Diamond and pearls leaders were disapointing. They were too easy and their personalities were either uninteresting or cliched.

What? Are you insane? Competitve battling wouldn't be half as popular as it is today without that great change.
3) The story line with Team Galactic and such was too over the top
I aggree
4) The Gym Leaders and E4 were way too easy
They were quite hard, certainly no worse than the other generations. And the gyms (in platinum) are really creative and look great!
5) The Sinnoh region doesn't have many Water routes
It could do with more, but the uncreative towns are worse than that.
Comments in bold.
Although the worst thing about the fourth gen, in my opinion, is the "3d" ness of it. Everything is really pixellated. It just looks like they took a good looking game and resized it down by 10% then jpegged it.

1) Thats not realy true. They put munchlax and lucario in the anime about 1 or 2 years before they announced 4th gen...
2) Thats kinda dumb thing to say... without change in the battle system people whould get bored... look at how many wi-fi battles there are on youtube LOL
3) No it wasnt, they made it crystal clear, to create their own world... Power rangers are more over the top then this...
4) LIER LIER PANTS ON FIRE!!!! The elite 4 were very hard! (you people may have used Action replays or had too high level pokemon) the bug guy was easy, agathas quagsire and wishcash were hard, the fire dude made me say bad words, cynthias garchomp was horrible!!! The gym leaders were very strong. The hardest gym leaders would have to be hoenn :\
5) Atleast they had a few :\ Kanto only had the one by pallet town... Johto realy just had the whirlpool islands hoenn was mayjorly flooded (i think this was because of the place it was based on) sinnoh has the one under sandgem town and the route to the leauge.

Urm... i think sinnoh has the most creative towns!!! I loved how sunnyshore looked and the bridge. I liked sandgem towns cowboyish theme. Veilstones i dont care about global warming theme. Celsestic town, the city for old foke.

1) I like them, I don't know what about you guys
2) Seems more than good to me...maybe we need to get used to it, but it's more organized and smart that way
3) That's a sci-fi based story. Let it be sci-fi.
4) Maybe, but you have rematches and they were overall okay. Just try not to train your Pokemons in tall grass too much and you'll see how every single game becomes slightly harder...just my 2 cents.
5) It is okay with me. And I don't really like the way Hoenn was designed - where there were some paths over killed with water. I like it that way.

Edit, by the way, my ranks:
1. Johto
2. Sinnoh
3. Kanto
4. Hoenn

Mainly because "Johto" always comes with "Kanto". It's just not a complete game without Kanto...so I'm overrating it because of this reason.

Have you ever played R/S/E? If you had you'd know that they had way more creative towns.

Well, D/P/Pt isn't bad, but it is a let down compared to the other regions. I dunno...

I don't see how Gen IV Pokemon were uncreative. They had like the most original Pokemon, really this is like the region with the most creative Pokemon. Uncreative doesn't mean ugly you know.

How can you not like the Physical and Special split, now Hitmonchan learning the elemental punches is useful, before it was just a waste of time with his pitiful special defense. Also some Pokemon might have a lot of Sp.Def and all their weaknesses were a Sp.Att making you unable to make good use of the types.

I don't see how they were too easy, unless you over leveled or cheated then they were pretty hard, especially Cynthia. Pretty much her whole team was other than Roselia. I also find it weird that think Whitney is hard, I mean Whitney was the easiest Gym leader for me.

Miltank sued Roll Out.
It wasn't very effective.
Machop used Karate Chop.
It was a critical hit.
It was super effective.
Miltank Fainted.

See how easy that battle was?

I have no idea why you want so many water routes, they make the game boring with too many and SInnoh had a decent amount of water routes. If it had anymore the game would just get way too dull. Besides it didn't need anymore water routes then what it had.

At least DPPt was better than RSE. hurhur

RSE was when Pokemon was starting to get redundant. DPPt made it fresh with the physical/special change, many of the new attacks made battles very interesting (like Trick Room) and they also introduced type combos not previously used (such as Poison/Dark and Steel/Fighting). The games better cinematics in my opinion as well.
