Yeah, I always think it's weird how gyms are shaped. Falkner does seem to be a bit of a rich brat type, so it does seem to-

Wait...

Rewind;

Whitney's gym is a giant Clefairy.

I first thought that it would just a ''S'' but so yeah. :/ $ is suitable.
Same here. Maybe I'm not a money fan.
Eww, guts.

I've always thought it was strange that he had a dollar sign in his gym.

Oh my Arceus, how did I never realize this? O.O

How I met each Pokémon Generation.

Oh, ChrisTom, hold your ego! =P

Don't you think that Clefairy is shocking enough to make other people surprised too??

I never noticed it either actually...

But I have always noticed the Dollar Sign in Falkner's gym ever since I first got Gold when I was 8 or so.
Apparently my old sig was too big or something so I'm just putting this here because I'm too lazy to actually replace it properly right now.

xDD haha I noticed that in my first playthough. I always wondered why they chose that as the gym design.

Lol Falcner is the first rich boy in Pokemon...^^ I've never realized that, really, pretty weird... Maybe Nintendo thought about all the money they'll make! xD

And Whitney's gym is a giant Clefairy? OMA, she sure loves her little Clefairy!^^ Lol after I read the whole things here I'm starting to feel a bit nooby...

I highly doubt it's meant to represent an actual dollar sign, just a happy coincidence. It's probably not even meant to be an 'S', just a simple 'puzzle' to get you started with gyms. Like the poster above said, it's Japan, they don't use dollars there. To be honest though, I never actually made the connection until I saw this thread.

As for the clefairy: *mind is blown* That is freakin' awesome! XD
Weekly observation (updated every friday, probably): There's nothing quite like a good book.

What I'm more interested in is why there isn't a fence or railing preventing people from falling into the pit of darkness.
I find this to be a more interesting observation.

Though I suppose it's still less dangerous than freaking lava or falling through ice into some dungeon below the gym.

Well, maybe not that second one.
