I was just playing through the elite 4 on platinum and after my opponent attacked, the game just froze. I'm playing on the original cartridge, no rom or anything. This hasn't ever happened to me before, anyone else experience this?

Sometimes this happens if the DS's connection with the cartridge is broken; for example, a sharp shock such as dropping it on the floor may cause it. Often, it's simply that there's a bit of dust on the contacts of the game card; if it happens repeatedly, try cleaning the game card and connectors inside the DS.

Although you're not supposed to, blowing on the connectors works wonders :P

Unfortunately, it happens sometimes due to simple wear and tear on the DS or your game cartridge. I usually just save frequently, especially after important parts of the game, to make sure I don't lose any hard work ;-;

Anyway, this isn't really a section for technical help with the games. If it continues to happen even after cleaning your DS and game cartridge, it would probably be best to send it to Nintendo and make them fix it \o/
