So do I. Whoever did it then had a better voice for Mai's character. The new one doesn't seem to fit.
After being a member for so long, I have lost interest in this place. I've had alot of good times here, and bad ones too. I will not forget anyone from here. This is my final goodbye, and farewell.

I hate the new voice of Mai, I miss the old voice. This new one does't quite fit her well. Its so sad.

I know. It totally stinks. I'd rather have the old Mai's vice. This one won't go well with the overall fan group for Mai.

At first, I thought the new voice was part of her emerging into darkness because she said she gave up her soul and lost her "weak" self, so I thought the result of that was the new voice, but when they showed the flashbacks, I was like "Well, so much for that theory..." They also changed Raptor's voice as well... nearly doesn't fit as well as the old voice actor.

Rex's voice? Didn't notice. I know Tristen's voice cchanged but way back. Mai yeah, I thought that too, I guess we were wrong. I miss the old Mai, what will happen to her? Have you guys seen the episode where they duel? I think Joey gets the new dragon the last one and eitehr wins or ties. But I know Mai is still alive since she battles in the end. Thisseason has like only 33 episodes from what I saw at www.yugioh-extreme.com Oh well.

Rex's voice change is very subtle, but I was able to notice it at the very start...

It's a shame they changed Mai's voice... like porygandrew said, the accent totally messes up Mai's personality that we grew to know and love. :(

I've only seen the episode from this Saturday. I really don't download the subbed episodes for the sake I really don't have time to do so. But as you said, I think Joey will awaken the final dragon this Saturday, much like Kaiba awakened Cridius.

Wow, only 33 episodes... kind of short, but I guess that's all right since last season was kind of short as well.

It's all right, but I preferred the voice actress who did Mai's voice in the past. It just fits better.
Yeah, I did notice that there was a slight change in her voice. At first I thought it was there to show that she had changed, but when they showed that flashback of her crying and pouting, I knew that that was her new permanent voice.

Anyways, I think that it is pretty good, but I do prefer her older voice more. Oh well, as long as they don't change Yugi's or Joey's voice, I don't mind.

P.S: o_O Wow, Arigetsu said nearly the exact same thing as me. Oh well, I just wanted to point out that I didn't copy his post.

Finally!! Someone said it. That voice is so lame, I'm angry at the writers for it.

Hey man, look at the bright side. Atleast they didn't change Yami Yugi's voice, or Joey's. =P

*laughs* Oh man, that's classic. That was awesome. :)

No, for real though, it's not the writers' fault. Whoever does the voice casting screwed it up... but then again, if the old voice actress of Mai didn't want to do it anymore... can't stop them from not wanting to do Mai's voice anymore... :(

Yes, that would blow royally if they changed Yugi or Joey's voice. I mean, it's bad enough that we have to look forward to a new beginning of Yu-Gi-Oh within the next couple of years.

It sure would! If they changed Yugi's voice, that would suck.

What do you mean a new YuGiOh! series?

I don't know too many details about it, but I do know that after the next couple of major story archs after the Doom Saga, the current Yu-Gi-Oh as we know it will end; sort of like a series finale. A new series will begin with new characters and a "successor" to Yugi.

Yeah. =\ Although I do think that they should eventually restart the series with atleast a new main character once it starts to get old, Yugioh still seems fresh in my opinion. Oh well, for all I know, I'll be sick and tired of hearing Yugi's "Heart of the Cards" speech in a couple years.

That'd be both cool and sad. Hopefully they'll keep a few of the original characters around. They need to put Mai's voice back to the original.

o_O I wouldn't mind a change in Yami Yugi or Joey's voices. Yami Yugi is far too deep and kills the image that he's still a kid that just happens to have more confidence. Instead they make it seem like he's gotten older. Joey's is down right stupid. I'm sorry but I sure as hell don't like Jonouchi having a Brooklyn accent when he was never even near New York when he was born.

But then again, this is why I stopped watching the dub all together due to it being ridiculously butchered by 4Kids.

I doubt they will do that. After all, the original voice actor for Mai quit, so I doubt that she'll just decide to return eventually.
