I wasn't sure if I should post this in DPPt or in General Pokemon, so mods, sorry if it belongs in General. I figured since I was specifically training in Pearl there might be some slight differences to just general training. :) I promise not to kick up a fuss if you move it!

I got a shiny Miltank from ~RNC~ yesterday (♥) and I decided I wanted to EV train it.

So I did my research and decided to train it with attack and speed EVs.

I started with the attack ones, and as it was level 1, I used my Dragonite to leech kills. I read online that using an exp share on Miltank and a macho brace on Dragonite should give Miltank normal double EVs from each fight, is that correct? I did that for 18 or so Bibarels (figuring that 4 EVs from each = 1 stat point = 63 Bibarels to fight for max attack EVs) before I started worrying. Every time my Miltank leveled up I didn't really see any major stats going into attack, but I'm not sure if I should be able to see those or if they're hidden?

So being cautious I put Miltank at the front of my party and switched my Dragonite in for the fight. However Miltank was still holding the exp share and Dragonite the macho brace, so I'm not sure if Miltank would have received 4 EVs from each Bibarel, which would screw up my counting. x__x

After I realised that I took off the exp share and gave the macho brace to Miltank, which should have worked, I guess.

I'm just looking for confirmation if these ways would have all given Miltank 4 EVs for each fight, and if I can continue using the exp share option (the much easier way), or if only some of them would have and if my counting is all messed up now.

Thanks in advance!

EDIT: Your wording is a little confusing, but if I understand correctly, then yes Miltank will gain attack EVs, but it will only gain 1 EV since the experience share only transfers EVs that your pokemon would have got if it were the one actually battling....If that makes any sense. So it doesn't gain 4 attack EVs, only 1. =(

Future questions like this can go in the Request a Moveset / Simple Q&A thread in Strategies and Movesets.
