My friend has a good point. Does the Pokewalker come with a charger? What is the energy source? I'd like to know that, too.

The old internal clocks were batteries actually so this makes sense.

From bulbapedia:
"The Pokéwalker uses a CR 2032 3V watch battery. Removing the battery will cause all steps taken and watts obtained to be cleared. The Pokémon inside will not be erased."

So yeah, just a watch battery :)
