Perhaps folks would like to divulge info on high school plays they might have played a part in? What plays? What characters?

Or are you part of an amatuer theatre group? Please tell.

Our school mainly did musicals, and I could not and cannot sing. But one year they decided as well as the musical they would do a seperate play. It was "Romeo & Juliet". I auditioned for the part of Tybalt but didn't get the role on the grounds of me being quite short at the time and therefore not the least bit threatening. They still offered me a role though as Mercutio. Being him was almost as fun as Tybalt and I had a great time in rehersal. Our performence went down a storm which was wonderful for me as it was the first time I had ever done stage acting (I was in the Drama Club but they did short films not plays). In about a third performence I decided it would be amusing to appear in each seen with a larger hat than the previous with the death scene featuring a hat 1m in diameter! Since High School I have not been in any drama whatsoever on account of free time being consumed by other activities. If I had the time I would definately do it again! I'd like to do "The Birthday Party" by Harold Pinter, "The Wasp Factory" by Ian Banks, "Forrest Gump" by Winston Groom or a Monty Python adaptation.

My high school didn't put on plays, but in one of my English classes we had a Shakespeare unit and our teacher had us act out scenes from the more famous works. I played Macduff and I got to kill Macbeth. :D

If my grade hadn't depended on it I'd have never done it. I hate getting in front of people.

Only my primary school had a play for the last year students. I insisted on being backstage because I'm an uncharismatic loner — lights! :D
The play itself was some sort of musical adaption of Lés Miserables plus random humour skits between scenes... I think. Didn't really pay attention and it's hard to see what's happening from the side of the stage.

This year I was in my schools play "The Mousetrap" It was pretty boring, I had fun as the mean one though. We also worked on The Odd Couple for a while but my teacher decided she wanted to do both at the same time, casted all the same people and threw a temper tantrum that no one had their lines down, and Odd Couple was canceled. Right we are working on Grease, I was already mad she said I couldn't play a boy (they have all the fun in that show) but then she lost my grade sheet, claimed I never turned it in and cut me from the chorus.

I prefer being a techie anyway, they are a lot cool than the performers and you get to take credit for all the performing arts work ;)

I'm not, but my friends are, and they are all amazingly talented. I see all of them going places with it.
