Dragonball? A series I've been meaning to see a LONG time, but never got around to it.

Dragonball Z, on the other hand, is a series I've enjoyed, but found rather dull due to the absurd amounts of filler. Maybe Kai will be the action anime I'll come to love.

I can't say it was my favourite Anime, but I did watch and enjoy it. It kind of went downhill after a while so I stopped and stayed back when Goku was a child...

Dragonball/Z is like the only show I think I could go back and watch all of, after all these years. It wasn't my first anime or anything, but I really liked it better than most any show I've seen. It was a big part of my middle school career. :D

To put it simply, I really am not the fan of Dragon Ball/Dragon Ball Z I used to be. But there is just something about it that makes it special to me that I just can't deny.

When I first experienced Dragon Ball Z (I didn't really watch it, I just saw part of an episode.) back in 5th grade (1999/2000, don't remember which year it was. lol), I thought it was ridiculous. All I remember from that time was thinking they just looked constipated. lol

I held onto that view until early or mid 2002 when I decided to give the original Dragon Ball a chance. I actually really got caught into it, and then I watched Dragon Ball Z with a more open-mind after that.

What I saw then was the beginning through the end of the Freeza arc. It was the most awesome thing to me at time. lol.

Now that I've grown up I have a less positive view of it again. I feel that if it would have ended with Goku defeating Freeza I would have had a lot better opinion of it. A lot of people say that it was GT where everything went wrong (understandable as it was all filler, and I didn't actually even watch it.), but I say it lost its edge a lot sooner. It lost that edge when it lost the continuity between arcs and when the legend of the Super Saiyan was tossed out the window and run over. There were some great parts after that, but it just doesn't feel right to have everybody turning Super Saiyan and to have them actually ascend the form. It was supposed to be the ultimate form, and by ruining that it just cheapened the series a lot IMO. Perhaps Vegeta and Gohan deserved the form as the story progressed, and that's why I think that the story shouldn't have progressed. It was great ending with Goku being "the one" and defeating Freeza who had a ton of connection with Goku and the Saiyan's pasts.

I really liked all the series as a kid, and looking back on them now, they are still really good (or mabey it's because I still act like a kid) but the storylines and graphics and depth (especially for an anime) were and are really good

I Love Z, and the original Dragonball, and I also really like GT... most people don't for some reason, I think it's kinda the perfect ending for the whole series, Is GT my fav.? no, Z is... but I also like GT a lot... The original dragonball is what I have seen the least of... (but I've seen most of it) A couple months ago (since I hadn't seen them all yet) watched all of GT, (which wasn't hard since there aren't a lot of them) and I can't quite understand why nobody likes it, it may not be as good as Z, but it is not trash by any standard (as most people view it)

But yeah... I'm thinking about buying them all, so I can watch them every once in a while when I'm bored (I'm a little obsessed, but it's a good show and I try to balence reasonably) I'll just have to save up some money for a while and find out where I can buy them though ^_^

Why do I like the Dragonball series though? Well, it's because it has decent to great graphics, the voice cast(funimation anyway) is great, The adrenaline apeal, it has some humor, A good story (although it tends to jump sometimes), An overall positive look that will make you smile, Awesome Characters, Awesome Settings (like places and stuff), and Awesome moves... just plenty of factors that make me smile and put me in a great mood for watching it (mabey that alone is why I like it)
