So how was your earth day?

Did you take any proactive steps to help the environment today?

Also do you feel strongly on Global Warming.

I believe that the world's natural resources are limited, but not as limited as people want you to think. We can't be putting restrictions on a company during the middle of a resetion.

I watched 50 trees get planted on my block and the next block over alone. They made it look real pretty, though.

I was a bit more careful on trash and usage of energy and the like. I've been on my laptop without the charger plugged in for once.

Global warming is a bit scary, to be honest. I think we should do as much as we can to avoid major damage.

Well, I hate the over worry as well. Everytime someone tells me we're going to run out of water someday I tell them we aren't exporting water to Mars.

I don't like the Earth Day, actually it seems just useless to me. Maybe it was supposed to call attention, but some people seem to get it as something that will help a lot the world.

Ah, Earth Day. The one day where everyone acts like they care about "our" planet for a bit. Then most of us go back to using our cars to drive a block to the grocery store, and similar things.

That's just my opinion, because the people I see in my city don't seem to care at all.

That's because they are missing the point. We won't run out of water, but we may run out of drinkable water some day. And yes we have ways of purifying it, but those use energy too. So if we are low on energy, which some day waaaaaay into the future we (Or really newer generations) will be needing to purify that water, they will not have pure water for everyone.

But really, we all have to die off someday, but why rush into it?

Since I'm already pretty good about environmental things (I take short showers, use natural lighting, ride my bike whenever possible, etc.) Earth Day is just another day for me. But even if it's just a token holiday I'd still prefer having it to not because keeping the environment healthy is important.

Climate change concerns me. Not "ohmygodwe'reallgonnadie!!!" concern, but we need more renewable energy sources and fewer CO2 emissions gunking up our atmosphere if we're going to have a decent world to live in.

The end of the world is inevitable, so I don't worry about that Global Warming hype.
Indeed, the end of the world is inevitable. But we can definitely do something about Global Warming, we can decrease it (slow it down), I think it's a great thing that people recycle, and try to green as much as possible. It wouldn't kill you to recycle or use the amount of energy that you really use. Or plant trees on forested areas, etc. We are destroying our mother Earth,us probably won't see the big consequences in our lifetime but maybe our great grand kids will. I think we should definitely try to help a bit, even with the small stuff like putting the trash in the right containers. :)

I wore a t-shirt to school today that warns people about how dangerous it would be to continue polluting the environment. My friend and I helped plant a tree somewhere in the fields. A lot of others also participated, but ours was the biggest tree let's see if they would last that long. About ten years from now, I would totally come back and visit the tree that I sprouted. I hope that it would at least help out a bit.

When I got home, I called my mom and told her not to use a lot of light and electricity because it's Earth Day. She was happy that I was informed about today, but didn't listened at all. The house is almost as bright as it was on Christmas. x_x

I participated in the school-wide "Wear Green on Earth Day" event, though it wasn't much. I also switched from buying water bottles to a reusable water container this week. Should have done that a long time ago, but I now have a motivation, I suppose. OTL

I wore black today, I hope that doesn't mean people thought I supported pollution?!

Personally I don't go out of my way, but If I see a special garbage can, and I have a can, I will put that can to good use.

My Earth Day was funnnn :D. I did a lot of things to help the environment.

Did you take any proactive steps to help the environment today?

I take proactive steps to help the environment everyday. I recycle stuff like crazy, unplug chargers when not in use, turn off lights to save power... a lot of things.

Last year I tried too many crops and didn't get a good yield on any. This year, I'm focusing all my efforts on tomatoes. Then hopefully I can trade for other crops with my neighbors trying similar tactics. I love summer.

Myself and everyone in my school that whole day did naff all for Earth Day. Seriously, it's turning commercial like Valentines.

Surely if people cared so much about the environment, saving energy, recycling more etc would just be things they do every day rather than one specific day to help make them a 'better person'.

Ah, well I turned off the power at my house for Earth Day.
I did a research paper on Global Warming not to long ago, even on this one newspaper, they state that it's NOT as bad as everyone makes it out to be. Yeah, we could put a limit on what we do. Although a lot of people won't. So eh.
The postings on Global warming have dropped about 10%. It doesn't sound like much, but compared to the people in the whole world, it is. Beeeeh, the pressuuure.
