FINALLY someone that actually knows about what hes talking!! btw, I really dont wnan be disrespectful, but USA sucks in evry sport except when it comes to the olimpics and stuff like that.
No, the USA are a reasonable football team. They aren't world class, but they aren't awful. Their football team has good players, a good team spirit and got to the final of the Confederations Cup. They aren't as bad as some people think they are.

By the way if Mourinho did join Manchester United I'd dislike him more than I do now. I'm an Arsenal fan, so I don't like Chelsea, a team he's managed and I don't like United either.
I would have a better signature but I can't think of one.

I dont hate Anelka and hes went round all our rivals. Arsenal, Liverpool, Man City and Chelsea. He's even been to derby-ish minor rivals Bolton.

I was just stating a reason why I dislike, not hate Mourinho, there is a difference in that I respect Mourinho, I just dislike his previous clubs, his playing style and his personality.

Could you give an insight as to what players to look for when Portugal are playing?

Other than the obvious Ronaldo, Deco etc.
Deco is old, he probably will be a distaster at this world cup. Look for Fábio Coentrão and Danny, probably they will be great Portugal revelations. Besides that, the portuguese team s*cks, i would be happy if they pass the group phase -.-

Don't forget that Joao Moutinho, last I heard he was quite good.

The farthest Portugal can go with this squad and this manager is the quarter-finals. And if we do, we can consider ourselves really lucky.
Don't worry about C. Ronaldo, he's done almost nothing for Portugal lately. But we'll miss Nani for sure, he got injured.

The favourites, for me, are Spain and Holland. I believe England can do a good tournament too.
And Argentina could easily be the world champions with that squad, but Maradona ain't the right manager for them.

As stated, Argentina have a world-class team but an idiot for a coach so how far they go makes for an interesting debate. Regardless of who's in charge they should still win their group pretty comfortably tbh, and if results go their way they could have a relatively easy route to the quarter finals. However, I reckon they'll struggle against the big boys.

Netherlands is going to take it all the way.

"The Netherlands, most famously known as the greatest footballing nation to never have won the World Cup, is going to be looking to end their curse once and for all."

They've got the Fab Four:
Arjen Robben
Robin Van Persie
Rafael Van Der Vaart
Wesley Sneijder

Not to mention Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, who I can't even put words to describe how good he is and WILL be. He's still pretty young but get some of the greatest touches on the ball.

The Netherlands was the first team to qualify for the World Cup and had no losses.

In their recent friendlies, they beat Hungary 6-1, and Ghana 4-1.

The Netherlands is a sleeper.

Everyone is riding Spain's bandwagon. Years ago, Spain was never this popular. I mean it was very favored, but never like how it is now. I suppose this has something to do with Barcelona, and Fifa 10, but that's just my opinion. I guess Spain's team IS different now than before, but still...

I just don't think any team are as mentally eager as the Dutch. Blast me all ya want, but you can't hate on an opinion.

-------------------------------

I'm feeling as though the U.S. is going to upset England. But they're not going far at all..

And every team can be beaten. There are some CRAZYYY upsets in soccer history.

Remember how just last year the U.S. beat Spain and gave Brazil a run for their money?

It's not just about skill, but it's also about leadership, morale, and MANY other variables.

Everyone's human. Soccer players are human. Humans make mistakes. Mistakes happen in soccer.
BATTLE RECORD: 47-6
WIN PERCENTAGE: 87%

You may have to settle for a thrilling three, Robben could miss part of the tournament with a hamstring injury.

There's no doubting that even without Robben the Netherlands are a very strong team and I fully expect them to top their group and make it to at least the Quarter Finals.

As for the US beating England, I honestly wouldn't be surprised. England and their band of big time Charlies will do what they always do; turn up expecting to hammer the supposed "smaller" teams, put in a sub-par performance and scrape a very unconvincing win. It's always the same.

In fact if anything if the US DOES beat England they'll be doing us a favour because it'll give them all the kick up the arse that they need and hopefully make them realise that you can't just waltz into games expecting wins, you have to perform no matter who the opposition is.

For a start, Robben is injured and is going to miss the first match. I just can't see him being 100% for any of the matches and he will end up getting hurt again.
And I am not on that bandwagon, I don't think Spain will win it.

Too high expectations and their main players have knocks and small injuries.

I believe that Spain has a chance to win but not as much more than the US but not as much as italy???, Brazil indefinitely Argentina Portugal possibly and South Africa. I was actually surprised to see no one vote for South Africa to win because if anyone thinks back to the rugby match in south africa a while ago they won that and home is very good luck to africans think about it. But i still want Argentina to win.

Don't disrespect Argentina, they may have a bad manager, that's a given but you have to agree they have more skill than the US and most of the other teams. I think it's gonna be either Argentina, Brazil, Spain or South Africa. South Africa has good luck with home or did you guys forget the rugby match?
Er no, not South Africa. They're good in rugby but not that good in football. It's not the same thing.

That has got nothing to do with it. It doesn't mean that they have home advantage that they will neccessarily win. It takes skill. As far as I can remember, South Africa hasn't made it to be in a World Cup for a long time, if ever at all. I agree that they are awesome in rugby, but football is different. I don't see how you can make such an obvious deduction. Does it mean that you're in your country that you have big chances to win? Nope.

Yes, Home Advantage is a massive boost. But you do need some skill to go with it. I mean look at Austria and Switzerland, Euro 2008..Both did nothing.
Well Austria performed quite well still, it was Switzerland who I thought didn't perform to their potential.

I think Holland could win it too (though being English have to say they will). They'll miss Robben though.

well most african countries have skills but not the resources to develop those skills. but south africa with the home advantage has a good chance to win. all they need is to want it.
Not really, home advantage could help them a bit but they really dont have the required quality to take the cup on anything other than luck.

Hard group stage for them never mind winning the tournament.

I'm afraid I agree about South Africa, Last 16 at the very best.
