I wrote some poems at school, and thought they were actually pretty good. (Surprising for me)

So, here they are!

A student

In these clothes I am a student
Bored, dull, life draining away.
Into this unnatural schedule of work.
I ignore homework and get punished
But when I think of all that work,
Maybe punishment is the easy way.
They expect me to learn, expand my horizons
But all I know is schoolwork, and homework
Walling me in, never slowing, relentless.
Teaching me to multiply powers of variables.
Why do I need to know that?
I now know 5 recipes for pie
Why do I need all them? One’s fine.
Diaries, big black books of doom.
Show mum every week, to scribble in them?
School is a trap, to institutionalise us.
So we can grow up, and continue to work.
And not go out, and see the light of day,
just stay inside, locked away,
and not live life to it's fullest.

To be Dr. Who

To be Dr. Who
It helps if you’re able
To fly the TARDIS
And stop evil aliens
With a sonic screwdriver
Or mobile phone virus.

To be Dr. Who
It helps to have
A sonic screwdriver
And a nice jacket
A nice friend, or three
Plus a mighty fine brain.

These are the requirements,
The skills required
Without which The Doctor
Would surely be fried.

But truly, to be The Doctor
What you really need is,
To be the last of your kind,
Family locked out of time
You’ve no time to relax,
But all the time in the world,
Just being somewhere and when,
Means disaster is to come.
Lastly, out of all
What you’d have to do,
Is leave all your friends behind,
They’ll end up in an alternate universe
Assuming of course, they don’t die first.
And they will die, no doubt about that.
You need to remember,
They’re mortal. You’re not.

I see poem

I see the clock tick slowly,
The stack of magazines.
I see their titles, they are
Better homes, and woman’s weekly.
I see the receptionist
Sitting boredly, but not showing it.
I see the man in the hat,
Nearly asleep from boredom.
I see all the people,
They wait, for the clock.
I see the dentist come from a door
He speaks to me, and beckons
I see my legs stand,
I try to stop, but can’t
I walk into the room,
Of pain.

---------

They're my homework :D
I refuse to enter a battle of the wits with you,
it's against my morals to attack an unarmed person.

While I disagree with the general idea of the poem (As I'm one of the very few that actually LIKES school), I do like the way you've worded things here. (Oh, and all the really cool jobs in the world usually involve something in school you'd never think you'd need)

-I See-
Again, I disagree, but I may be a little biased, as I've never had anything to be drilled or otherwise be put in pain at a dentist, but again, I like the way you've worded things EXCEPT for one part: with the receptionist and the guy in the hat, it's awkward to have [i]bored[/u] in there twice in such a short amount of time. May I suggest a synonym of one sort or another?

^ This one is 500 px long for sure >_>
