What do people think is better...?

When Pokémon came out it was a big sensation- lots of people didn't understand it and people only joined in the phenomenom because everyone else was.

Four generations later only the true fans who truly understand the idea like it. However, lots of people now don't understand when you say Pokémon is one of your favourite games or THE favourite game!

So what do you guys think is better: everyone liking it when gen one was released, but few people understanding it or now when fewer people like it, but they are the true fans?!?

Personally, I prefer the latter...

I think there are pros and cons to both.

When there were more fans, the Pokemon sensation was a bit wilder. You saw it everywhere. It was in an uproar. So true fans and temporary fans are all in the frenzy. More of a big universal party! lol.
((Actually, I kind of miss the days when Pokemon was popular in my school with everyone. When I got older, I and just a couple more people were playing it. A very lonely feeling. I missed having a lot of people into it, there was more to do and talk about and more chances of having fun.))

Even though there are more true fans, it all dies down and not many people are really demanding for it. If that keeps going on and the true fans start to grow out of it, there are really no more temporary fans to fill in the gap, and eventually Pokemon will die. It's more lonely like that.

I like the first choice. The phenomenon. More going on.

I actually prefer it now. Back when the craze was in full swing, it was neat that everyone loved it and it was a common point to talk about but... I think it was a little too hectic for me. Plus, if it were a huge craze again (or still, rather), it would mostly be little kids into it and I think it would be even weirder for someone my age to be a big fan. :/

I like the quieter, more subdued fandom we've got now. It's harder to find merch and the like but it's a better atmosphere overall, imo.
